My kids had fun dipping candles on their own. The young gal behind the counter (with the red hair) was more focused on her phone than acknowledging any of the customers who walked in, including my group. We made a purchase and I accidentally left without my credit card. It wasn't offered back to me so it didn't register with me. Over an hour later I was ready to pay for a food bill and realized I didn't have my card. I ran back to the store and inquired about my card. The young lady said, "Oh, I realized you left your card and was going to run after you, but..." But what? Finish your sentence. "But, I was too involved with my phone and just couldn't break away from it to give you back your card." There, doesn't the truth feel better? It's a shame that cell phones are allowed to be openly used by employees while working. Quite a distraction from their paid responsibilities. read more

Lots of beautiful (and expensive) candles. We come for the dip-your-own area. The candles in this area vary in price, but the best deal (and easiest to get a good result) are the tapers for $2/piece. We don't go for glitter, but it's available if you want it. We went for the first time last year and my son was really looking forward to coming back this year. Unfortunately, they don't have a public restroom, but they are owned by the same folks who own Mob Burgers and you can use the restroom there (just down the street) if you say you are dipping candles at the Wax Works. read more

I've been on the lookout for some reasonably priced votive candles and accessories for awhile now. The problem is I didn't want to buy the cheap low-end junk at a place like Walmart but on the other hand, I wasn't to interested in paying the premiums that stores like Yankee Candle Company charge. Armadilla finally caught my eye on my last trip to Prescott (how I'd missed this store before, I don't know since it is very prominently located on the town square). I poked my head in, not expecting very much, and got a whole lot. To begin, Armadilla is known for their sculpted candles (something I found out later on of course, ha!) and they certainly had some really cool candles. Among the highlights for me were a breast cancer awareness ribbon (proceeds from the sale donated of course) and their cactus candle. I settled on buying a box of 18 votive candles since they offered a free holder with the purchase of a box. This was a great deal as I could mix and match the fragrances I wanted instead of being stuck having to buy all of one scent. Service was great. I was probably being a nuisance, asking a bunch of questions to the girl but she took me around the shop anyway and pointed out some of her favorite fragrances and even talked me out of buying a couple things that I thought I'd need but didn't really. She gave me great service and helped me find just what fit for where I was planning to burn the candles. Prices were modest, though since it was a candle shop there certainly wasn't anything "cheap" in the store. Good candles simply cost more than what you can get at the Walmarts and Targets of the world. Still, my box of eighteen candles cost about the same as only twelve candles at Yankee and that is pretty solid in my book, especially for a smaller privately-owned business. Great service, some cool pieces, and some very nice/unique fragrances: all in all Armadilla caught my attention and its now another store on my list of places to hit whenever I make the trip up to Prescott. read more

This shop has beautiful candles in every sent you can think of. They also have a section where kids (and kids at heart) can dip their own candles. In addition to candles they have everything you need to go with candles including long matches in beautiful boxes, candle holders, etc. read more

My folks moved to Prescott valley about 5 years ago and found this place. They used to have a big location outside of the small quaint downtown area that was nice, but the new improved downtown spot is amazing. Housed in the old Bank downtown and the vault is still there. Very cool location and I'm sure it gets them a lot more walk in customers. But every we visit I must make a stop. Handmade amazing smelling candles that not only look beautiful but burn for hours this place is a ladies dream! Watch your pocketbooks you may be tempted to spend it all. They have a frequent buyer card so you can get the stamps and return time after time. I highly recommend stopping by at least for some great smells! read more

Came in with my daughter and was greeted with a warm smile as soon as I walk through the door the young lady asked me what I was looking for and I said I wanted a summer sent. She took me around the store and and showed me a few of her products and I love them. But she was amazing and very personable! Gave me some ideas of places to go around town to take my family! (Having 4 kids under the age of 5 really narrows down the restaurant we can go to! Lol) I like the candles I got but love the service and kindness of the girl who help me this morning! read more
