The store is huge and basically of all the shopping mall (Taby Centrum)'s third floor is devoted to this store and a few independents. The staff seemed friendly - even though there was a language barrier which was probably more common here with Taby being just outside of Stockholm centre (not the most touristy area), and they really did try to help however they can. For a store of its' kind I would have expected a better hardware selection including tools and perhaps strong glues however the product range here was pretty good with most items being reasonably priced but there remained a few exceptions to this observation. A pretty large Clas Ohlson store obviously and it did impress me enough to warrant four-stars.

The gravy are the best, just well seasoned and tasty. The fish & chip is good too. Love the ice cream, soft and velvety texture. The seating area is huge, and clean. What a cool gallery!! Right in the heart of Gamla Stan, this place features a handful of talented…read moreartists from all over the globe. The owner (who we met and was very kind) told us how he spent years traveling the world to find amazing artists and work with them to have their work fit in his gallery. Each artist has a portion of the wall with a piece of their work h going and a description about their methods/inspiration and 3 different sizes of their assorted original art. The owner knows all of the artists personally and gives great insight to the work when inquiring about them. I really love this concept for a gallery - developing personal connections with the artists to gain greater appreciation for their skill work. The gallery also features occasional exhibitions when the artists visit and their pieces are sold on larger canvases than typically offered. So glad I stumbled upon this place and I highly recommend anyone who appreciates art to stop in.

The museum itself is a little tough to find and can't be reached directly by the tunnelbana (subway/metro). It isn't helped by the fact that they like to make direct you to the museum with very post-modern signs that ENORMOUS arrows but the name of the museum in a tiny, almost illegible font. It's a spacious museum, and a somewhat strangely organized. The special exhibit was on the top floor, but the rest of the museum on the bottom floor. It's tough to explain, you'd have to go see it for yourself to understand. But it's not all that intuitive. But it is well lit which always critical for a modern museum. Another bonus is that it's directly connected to the Arkitekturmuseum which is awesome, since you can get a discounted rate when you buy a ticket for both.

After months of Russia books stores, which seem to only carry Classics, trashy romance novels and mysteries, being able to pick up a copy of "To Kill a Mockingbird" for a friend who has never read it was a fun moment of normalcy. The owner is fantastically Swedish, nice, helpful, yet perfectly taciturn, he encourages you to browse quietly, answering questions when asked, but allowing the wonderfulness to speak for itself. The very first item listed on the menu was Köttbullar, or Swedish meatballs, so we ordered this classic dish, which came with gravy and mashed potatoes. The meatballs were exactly what I expected--quite lean on the inside, but well-paired with the savory sauce and the lingonberry jam. In terms of execution, however, this place fell a little short for me. All the items on the plate were already pre-prepared and simply heated up in the microwave. However, our server was extremely friendly, and we struck up a nice conversation, in which she gave us recommendations for more food to try while in Stockholm!
