I set up at 30-minute free call with attorney Jennifer Knight. I sent her a copy of my current trust for review, prior to our meeting. I could not believe what she told me! She said your attorney did a great job and I did not need to start over. So rare to find someone so honest now-a-days! She said if I wanted to make a few tweaks, it would be cheaper to go back to the original attorney, so I only had to pay for the updates. I asked her if I can use the rest of the 30 minutes to ask her some generic questions and she took her time and answered all of my questions, she even explained their process and what I should look for in the future. In the end, I was looking for a reason to hire her. Highly Recommended!!! I will definitely keep her in mind in the future, if anything else comes up. Preston was more thorough than the others we talked to, and pointed out a number of relevant issues that their trusts covered that weren't covered by some of the other companies. The staff was always there to help with correct titling of accounts and insurance policies and the like. I feel they filled in a lot of gaps our previous estate attorney left out. Also, the previous attorney left us uncovered for years because he neither stressed the importance of titling the appropriate accounts to the trust nor was responsive to questions about how to title and the critical importance of that major step. I would not recommend using Preston Estate. They're quick to take your money but little results. My siblings and I hired this law firm to help settle our family estate after paying $6300. We got an EIN # and they sent a list of assets to the siblings, We received a letter stating they've fulfilled their services, but we still haven't received the money from investments my parents had after 9 months. Before you go and pay the high price tag, find out exactly what they're really going to do for you. You probably could've done it yourself. read more

Trust Mill - Run! This company does not respond or follow the instructions of their clients. They have a cookie cutter blue print and the Trust is a template. Not anything original or personalized. Read all of the negative reviews. Every single response from this company Blames the client or the client's family instead of taking accountability and offering a real resolution - just as they do with everything else. They use high pressure sales and confusion to push their agenda (not what the client wants - they do the easiest for the company with a cut and paste template you can get online). They have a lot of great FB ads but they don't provide what they promise. The best response they give is that the upset writer should contact them to resolve. The problem is by the time the client gets so angry being ignored by their unethical actions, they have already tried multiple attempts to have some response from the company. You will only get a call with an attorney on your first call so they can basically reel you in and close the sale, or when you try to terminate their representation for not fulfilling their obligations! Otherwise you will only speak to a "Concierge" not even a Paralegal - a receptionist with a fancy title! Look up what a "Trust Mill" is and see how it resonates with this company. Then check for Barr Association and other documented complaints. read more

My wife and I are retired having had extensive experience working in finance in both private and public companies. Part of that experience involved working with some of the best law firms here on the West Coast. When we retired, we had plenty of advice as to who we should use to help us with our Estate Planning and we settled for a number of excellent advisors but there was never any follow up over the years as the laws changed. When my wife found Preston Estate Planning six months ago, we decided to take a new look at our family trusts, wills and Health Care Directives. The big difference this time is that we really feel that Mr. Preston and his team have an excellent "system" for simplifying the whole estate planning process. Working with the team at Preston has been very straightforward and I have been amazed when my Saturday email questions have been answered over the weekend. His team are very easy to talk to, and their webinars and continuous Life Plan means that they are always on top of changes that occur in the law that we would otherwise miss if didn't have someone keeping our estate plans up to date. So far I do not recommend this law office. My father had his trust done here for him and his wife over 15 years ago and it was updated about 8 years ago. He passed away last December. My mother wanted the reported to add me as signing power on the banking accounts. The cost to make the modification was more than a new trust was to create for my wife and I and it was done correctly with a local lawyer. The banks will not accept the new modified trust from this lawyer and they do not seem helpful in getting the issues resolved. Sad as they made us pay for the modification before they started the work. We were told it would take 6 weeks to complete. 6 weeks later they have not started it was not until I reached out to them they said they needed more information. Then 3 weeks later I still had to follow up. The whole process took close to 4 months. With the delays on their side as we would respond with information or signed documents within 24 hours. They would respond in a week or 2. Unless it was a quick response Like we are working on it. I do not recommend this place. Still waiting for a trust the bank will accept. I read more

We had a Trust already in place and had done a couple of amendments but we were still not comfortable with the contents as we have a blended Family, real estate properties and a Family Business involved. My Wife came across Preston Estate Panning webinars on instagram and after watching several we felt that their Professional Legal service might help us generate the final Trust Document we were looking for. We reached out by phone as we live out of the area and were met with a very Professional Legal staff that answered questions and gave us very thorough guidance to achieve what we feel is a Trust that meets our Family dynamics. The drafts were prepared and sent to us for revisions/approvals until everything was how we wanted the Trust to read. The Trust was then sent to us professionally bound in a nice legal binder for review and signatures with provided Notary Service. After sending the Trust back to Preston for recording and authenticity, we now feel we have a Trust that addresses our needs. I had planned to purchase their service because I felt originally that this group has knowledge. I compared prices for redoing my trust which was also in place. I had a phone conversation both with senior partner and another female associate. She was clear in her approach and told me it was best to hold off purchasing their services until my mothers assets were distributed and I had more business/personal consultations with my other advisors. I appreciated her authenticity and honest approach. But, six months later, I called twice to reach this same female associate ( she is the lady who presents online seminars with two male father and son lawyers), and could not reach this lady to schedule an appointment. I called not once but 3x over the course of one month and not return. It appears there is a break down in their administration. The secretary was at one point arrogant and overly protective ( sounding) of her bosses time ( as if I was not a prospective client---- note I am executive management in a corporate group and understand when administration staff are out of order, lazy, and just not interested in help). Three times strike out. I walked away and expanded my relationship with Anderson Advisors ( they do corporate business, estate and other areas of planning ), are international and have done me well in the past. This company does a lot of Facebook advertising. So I contacted them. I have a need for a trust and ongoing services. I wanted to have a conversation with somebody in their firm other than their front phone person. There were many reviews that were not so positive or ok about Preston here. So I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. I spoke to somebody twice, a woman in their firm. I spent a total of 30 minutes answering her questions, providing contact info, and asking questions. She promised a lawyer in the firm would contact me. They never did. She never did again. I called again and asked again. Nothing. No callbacks. I have decided to work with a different law firm now, for Preston cannot follow through or provide communication, So, that is enough evidence for me. I'm leaving this review because it is maybe an ongoing pattern with this company? Maybe their advertising and operations need to be in alignment. Not my problem. read more

It feels a bit odd to review a estate firm; but here I am; because of the level of service they have provided me and my family over the years. I am a 3 generation client; so that alone should give you insight to the loyalty this firm generates. They have handlers trusts of my entire family, and when the need arises, probate and execution of said trusts. They are rewriting mine, and have an excellent "lifetime" program that is very reasonable and comprehensive. I will continue to use and recommend this firm; they are excellent at what they do, communicative, upfront and above all have integrity. He creates documents for people so after they pass on the family will have so instructions as to what their wishes are. My husband, JJ (49 yrs old) and I (40 yrs old) are extremely thankful for Mr. John Preston and his firm. Shortly after my husband and I got married almost 3 years ago - he suffered some major medical emergencies. His unfortunate situation put us into full action mode to put key motions into place for our Trust and Estate Planning. The most important component for me was the Medical portion. For example - What would happen if something unexpectedly created a severe medical situation for my husband again and he was all alone? How would the emergency medical team know who to contact? How would they know what rights he had? What were his legal "rights" and "wishes" if he couldn't speak? My parents signed up with Preston and paid their maintenance fees for years. Eventually I reviewed their Trusts, Health Care Directives, & so on I called them with questions. After my parents gave them permission, they FAILED to answer my questions. They were rude, insulting, demeaning, and not necessary forthright. When I met with them in person at one of their lectures at a hotel convention room their attitude was not much better. Over the decades knew hundreds of attorneys. But Preston et.al., I find it astonishing an organization dependent on paying clients would treat them and potential clients in such a manner. read more
