I'm pretty conflicted about my recent experience here. I'd give it 3.5 if possible. I've been here a few times over the years coming to HHI, and my most recent time just fell flat. I got a dip manicure that looked great leaving the salon, but it yellowed in less than 24 hours and cracked within 4 days. I went with a few family members, and everyone was just slightly less than completely satisfied with their service, whether it be not wiping off the gel polish for my mom (leaving her with sticky nails), yellowing polish, or nails that don't stay looking fresh for more than two days. I will likely try another place next time I'm visiting Hilton Head. read more

While visiting Hilton Head, I went in for a mani/pedi. I usually do a basic service. I felt like trying one of their more inclusive options that included the sugar scrub for $47. Not only did the scrub not happen, my nails were sanded, hand and feet, and were left looking like I had been moving rocks all day. When I pointed it out I was told the buff was an extra $5. I'm not sure how other places operate. But this was new to me. If nails are sanded, they should be buffed. If she had not sanded them, I'd have been OK. I absolutely will not return or recommend this place to anyone. Please find another nail shop in Hilton Head. They are plentiful. read more

It was a rainy day, so I knew they would be busy. We went at 4 o'clock and they asked us to come back at five. It was me and my two girls, ages 12 and 9 wanting pedicures only. We came back at five and waited about 20 to 30 minutes to get into a chair. Without asking they gave my nine-year-old the children's pedicure which is $30, the same price as the basic adult pedicure but half the services. I then chose the basic adult pedicure for my 12-year-old. All of that took an hour and a half so I ended up not getting my pedicure, so we could leave. I'm willing to pay for good service for sure and also understand being busy, which is why we did not mind coming back an hour later, or even waiting, but the time management and the prices are absolutely ridiculous for what you get. read more

I have been getting sns done for years. Recently took a 6 month break after having a baby because I didn't have the time to go to a salon or do them myself. I came here on vacation and the set was fine. A couple of my nails already started lifting within a week. Now exactly 2 weeks later one popped off. My natural nail underneath is DESTROYED!! So thin and so painful. I have never experienced this from a salon, only once from my own untrained doing when I over buffed my nails before dipping. But I'm their rush, they forgot the hot towels on my legs, when I mentioned it they said well you didn't pay for that it's just a courtesy, it's just a hot towel. They thing is I have been on my feet for the past week non stop and felt belittled instead of just saying oh, I am so sorry that we forgot. Then when I asked for ombré on my nails, I was told well you didn't ask for that. We had not discussed my fingernails at all. She only asked me to pick out the polish for my pedicure. Upon checking out, I asked if I could purchase nail oil since the attendant told me I needed some and was met with the response I put some on your nails already. I came out of this place crying on my way to my car. I was unaware SNS (with it being my first time) did not mean I would get a manicure. I came in asking for a manicure and pedicure. I told them I was thinking about SNS and then decided I would try. At the end of them putting on SNS, I asked if they would trim up around my nails. They said it wasn't included. The men who did my nails were awesome, the owner was completely rude. He told me I was a mean person coming out of there and I was nothing but calm and thankful. I have never been more hurt my a business and how they treated a patron. It would have taken less than 1 minute to trim what was needed. NEVER will I be back to such a place. read more

Made a last minute decision to take the whole family for a nail spa outing near the Omni Resort. After checking Yelp reviews, Pretty Nail and Spa popped up as highly rated just outside Palmetto Dunes. Wow, once again, the reviews were right on as this place has a friendly and talented staff, clean treatment areas, and a wide selection of polishes for the ladies in our group. I had a men's pedicure and manicure and it was perfect. Just the right amount of massage mixed in with the nail work. The women in our group agreed that regardless of which technician you got, it seems that they were all equally skilled and talented in their craft. One woman in our party got gels and the other shellac and both came out exactly as requested. The said the massage work was well done to match the nail work. Pretty Nail and Spa is in a somewhat hidden location just off WH Parkway and at present is tucked behind a now closed pet day spa. Have no fear. This is a legit nail place that has the chops to put it up against any in the area. On a Thursday evening, the 4 of us were able to walk-in without appointment but I would recommend calling ahead if earlier in the day as they said it really slows down on the island after 5PM. Lots of locals in the shop as we were arriving. Great ambiance with large flat screen TVs (muted) if you need a distraction while in the chair. While in town visiting in May 2020 from No. Va, after a long 2 months of Covid and not having nails, I was very happy to land at this salon. They were highly recommended to me by the Beach Property Co and one of the employees at the Palmetto Dunes General Store. I was able to get appt within 24 hours of calling and was greeted very kindly by Alex and Mimi. They were very outgoing, friendly & genuine while engaging in conversation. Amazing selection of colors! Hung did my pedicure and new set of nails. He was a bit less talkative but was very detailed and did a fabulous job. They were all wearing masks and even had some available for purchase if needed. Salon was extremely clean which matters a lot to me and safety measures taken to help the safety of their employees and clients. Prices were comparable to what we pay back home and services were equally good. I will definitely come buy for an appt each time while visiting in HH. Don't let the outside fool you! It has a rough exterior, but the inside is beautiful, relaxing, and clean without heavy fumes. This is the third nail salon I've been to on the island, and this is the only one I will return to.
