I moved to the Baltimore area a couple on months ago and have went to Pretty nails about 4 times. The first time I went there I got a manicure and the next day I noticed the nail polish chipping. I figured it was the type of nail polish I had chosen and went back another time. On my third visit as soon as I started driving home from my manicure I noticed as my nail polish rippiling and went home and took it off and painted my own nails. In all three visits I was never greeted by the owner who seemed to only greet certain customers that she had already developed relationships with. Usually I would walk in and sit down until someone finally approached me or I would approach someone after being ignored for about 10 minutes. Regardless of the service I received in those times I still went back due to my lack of knowledge of the area and it being close to my house. On my fourth and last visit, I had the most unprofessional and disrespectful service I have ever expirienced. I went in two days before my birthday for a fill and pedicure and when I entered i received the same treatment of being ignored by the owner who was doing someone else's nails. One of the employees (a guy) approached me and I told him what I wanted and he gave me my pedicure first and moved on to doing my fill. Once he did my nails he told me to go sit at the dryer and while I was there I had to move to several different ones because of how old and weak the fan was which caused me to accidentally hit one of nails which I asked him to fix. He fixed my nails in a very angry manner and I returned to sit under the dryer for another 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, I asked him to check to see if I was good to go and he said yes without checking. I walked outside and looked down and noticed all of my nail were messed up. To which point I went straight back in and the owner tried to tell me it was because "I was doing something with my hands" and "I didn't let it dry enough" and I told her he told me I was good and I could leave. After asking her several times what she was going to do for me she finally said he would fix my nails when he was done and to sit down. At the point I had already been in the salon for 3 hours and I told her I needed him to fix them now because I had work in one hour, she then proceeded to get smart with me and tell me it "that wasn't going to happen." I told her I would come back in the morning. The next day after only wearing sandals since my pedicure, I noticed my toes had chipped too and I figured their nail polish had to be expired. I went back in and after sitting down and not being greeted again as other customers are, she told me to "grab the color from yesterday"
To which I told her that I was going to choose a different color because even my pedicure had chipped. After choosing the color and waiting for another 20 minutes, she called me to her table and repainted my nails and as she painted my nails said to me "this is the last time I'm going to do this for you" as if she was doing me a courtesy by fixing my nails when I hadn't even walked past the door and they had gotten messed up and I told her I wouldn't be coming back if this happened again. She then had me in an extremely uncomfortable position while my hands were drying and had me put my feet on her lap so she could repaint them rather than having me sit in one of her 5 empty pedicure chairs. Afterwards I dried my nails for 35 minutes and walked out with a single person checking on me. Also they seemed to be talking about me constantly and as a person who speak three other languages, it was easy to see their cues towards me while they talked badly about me. I have given them the benefit of the doubt and never complained the past three times they've messed up my nails due to their expired nail polish and poor service, however this time they were extremely disrespectful and I definitely don't refer anyone to come there. Coming from Las Vegas I have received much better treatment and much better service. read more
