This was the first place that I went to to get my hair replaced in 2019. At first I was taken care of by Mary she made me look like an Elvis Presley wanna be. The went to see Pura and it was ok for a short then mistakes started to happen. I lived my life in the bathroom mirror fixing her error finally left and went to a different salon and it was night and day great service and I looked amazing. After that I moved to Florida and found a great stylist. I ended moving back to Atlanta and there are very little people doing this and I heard she had hired more people so I went back one week later the employee quit. Pura can't keep employees. I can tell by her character that she micro manages so people won't stay. So I ended up going back to pura well guess what the first couple of service appointments great then after that holy crap mistakes every time she would put the hair to high or not centered and God forbid you called and asked For a reset she would get insulted I was having to go home take off the systems and re do it I kept giving her chances and today was the final straw. I had a cut in which I never let her do. So I tried. Guess what the system too high the hair haircut was awful I had to pay a barber to fix it. Called her on it and she refused to fix it so I asked for a refund and of course got defensive. Guys stay away. She left glue all over my forehead. She's and older lady with no creativity. In this industry you have to have wiggle room for mistakes they may not happen all the time but they do and she's very much my way or the highway tyoe if person. I feel bad for Mary if I were her I'd run. All my buds stopped going to her because she's awful. Don't waste your money. Better to pay more and get good service than to pay less and crap.

When I first started going to Paula, my hair was damaged from a previous stylist (tracks and glue, smh), but Paula helped me transition from damage to health with a plethora of protective styles. With sew-ins, she's super quick and uses a hot iron curling rod (idk the proper term) so that the curls hold well for the next few days. With silk presses, she manages to get hair bone straight from root to tip, and once you wash your hair-- if it's natural-- your hair will easily revert to its natural curl pattern. Aside from her hair styling talents, Paula is super friendly and responsive to texts! That's huge. Often you have to continually follow up with a stylist to hear back from them-- not with Paula. She responds promptly and efficiently. I don't live in Atlanta anymore, but if I did I'd still be going to Paula!

I noticed their business as I was in my car at the light directly across the street. I called the number listed on the sign and the owner was very professional. I asked the price for Senegalese twists and she provided me with it. I liked that when I walked in the shop, it was very clean with a professional set up and the stylists were professional. They helped me choose my color and she listened to me when I said I wanted medium Senegalese twists. Sometimes I've asked for medium or large braids and I'm bamboozled into micro twists or smaller braids. She was very careful around my edges and with not hurting my head. I'm very impressed with the service and I'll be back. She finished my hair with her sister in 3 hours. I also witnessed Goddess braids on another client, and I liked that a whole hunk of gel was not used to style the lady's head. It also turned out very cute.

I am thankful that Tony provided me with Chai from a local tea shop (that is one reason behind the star for the overall quality of customer service). Minus half of a star for the inconsistencies in prices for services. The online menu contains different prices than the menu posted in the salon. For example, a cut on the salon menu is 40, but it's 50 online. Overall, I'm most disappointed by the highlight service. Unless the salon offered to fix the highlight and without an extra charge, I absolutely would not recommend anyone patron this business.

I feel like my student wasn't being watched over enough because I was getting something a little more intricate. I got a half up half down but the student could see the teacher was struggling and walked away several times during my session my student was not confident at all and couldn't put my hair in a ponytail tight enough. When I left and woke up the next morning to top half of the half up half down came off my natural ponytail and I called the owner and told her what happen. She advised they were closed and hung up without any reassurance are letting me know I could come in that day after and someone would handle it. Empire would never !
