The backyard fence was supposed to be finished in 4 days, as we entered week 4, the job was still incomplete. I dealt with excuses, no shows, no calls, requests for money before the job is done etc. Jay asked for $980.00 to buy supplies for the front yard fence and I foolishly gave it to him. Now, due to personal issues, I asked him to refund me the $980.00 for the front fence and he lied and said he already bought the fence for the front, but he was unaware that I had spoken to the company and was told that nothing was purchased. After I confronted him about his lie, he ignored me and the next day he texted me and said he would not return my $980 and instead stated that is going to use it for additional payment for the back. I asked him if he would at least stain the back fence since I paid for that to be done and I asked him to clean the paint that he sprayed on my other fence and he said he was coming "Thursday" but instead he decided to ignore my calls, texts, and emails. So now, I have a wood fence with 1 panel partially painted while ALL the others are not, a chain-link in the front that is painted blue in certain areas, 5 patches of dead grass from him using and leaving bricks from my backyard as props (without permission) and they are now partially blue too. The ground in front of my fence gate is blue as well. It is very unprofessional to abandon a job especially after you have received over 2000.00 and have not completed the work! It is also illegal to decide to keep $980.00 for the front fence and decide you will use it for the back fence when you were already paid to do the back. He was also paid $250.00 for chicken wire and he will not return that money either.

I called him and explained the issue, and he was completely dismissive, saying that he only works for the customer and it's too bad if the rest of us (over 100 cars per day) can't see around the corner. I had to follow up with the city, who determined that the fence was not built according to the permit. American Heritage still hasn't addressed the issue, but when they do, I'm curious whether they will do so at their own expense or whether they'll charge the neighbors extra to move the fence. Either way, I would never hire this company to build a fence for me.

A few days after my review, Landon from Seegars reached out to me directly with an apology for how everything had been handled, and an offer to make things right. They agreed to my request for a partial discount (I had originally paid everything in full to be done with the account, but they offered to refund me the amount I was asking for, which I felt was fair), and they told me they would send one of their most experienced crews to my home to completely replace the gate and ensure it was up to standard. I agreed and within 3 weeks, I received a call from one of the owners who wanted to personally apologize for everything. He mentioned that they've made internal changes and assured me that future clients shouldn't run into the same troubles I did. The replacement gate was properly installed in a few hours, and the panels now align and the gates hang square, which is the exactly quality standards I expected from the start. They did not notify us , that they hit pipes in the first hole they dug.They keept digging one hole after another. We had to spend money on fixing these pipes after digging 2 ft long trenches and excavating the sprinkler system which turned out to be very expensive.Incompetent crew, bad company ethics. Find other companies to do your project. All your reasonable request will fall on deaf ears .
