If you are visiting Venice and the northeast Mestre area, I would recommend it based solely on the authenticity factor, something missing from many of the taverns in Venice proper. The pub has a American theme throughout while respecting traditional Italian bar culture. Photos of the Blues Brothers, various bands, and sports (NHL) abound while classic American and British rock blast over the stereo. The barkeep is Claudio, who makes sure to take care of all of his patrons. The night started with the three of us drinking spritz, made of prosecco and campari. From there we graduated to a variety of wines and eventually beer. Throughout our Saturday evening, the staff tended to us with snacks and cichetti, all gratis. The wines are top of their class and all extremely affordable. The craft beer selection on tap is small (6ish), but superb, in fact the witbier was one of the best I've tasted, anywhere. Based on the service alone I can highly recommend Le Due Ochette. Make a good impression on Claudio and he might send you home with a bottle of wine. Add in the selection and neighborhood atmosphere, and the decision to spend your evening here is a no-brainer.

Really, I love this place, I do. The people are friendly, accommodating, usually drinking wine themselves (Italia!) and all that... This does have one huge drawback though - the bathrooms are located in the center of the food/bar area and boy, can you smell them. I do and will go back.... but I can see why some wouldn't for that last reason alone. The prices of course are good as with any snack bar.

The bar makes truly fantastic cocktails (which are hard to find in Italy actually if it's something other than beer or wine), and we were craving an Old Fashioned and some music...and this had both. The band, which I cannot remember the name of now, consisted of a pregnant singer who was absolutely phenomenal, and a few other guys (drummer, guitar etc). The cocktails, service, music, and general vibe was so fun, warm, and welcoming! Loved this place and grateful we found it...one of our favorite memories of Venice!

The lobby of the Danieli hotel is beautiful and old-world with Murano glass chandeliers and intricate gold-leaf ceilings. Drink and food prices are exceedingly high - so know that before sitting down to avoid sticker shock. For example - whiskey and bar drinks are $20 each, an Aperol Spritz is $18, and coffee is $10. We had a hotel food and dining credit and also ordered a $34 Sea bass burger with French fries that was actually very very good. Service is excellent and they have a piano singer nightly and plenty of comfortable seating all around.
