Wow what a shame! I read some of the bad reviews. I wish they had a good experience. Recently my insurance carrier changed and they asked me if I wanted to change doctors. I asked to stay with Dr. Matian. My experience with the PA named Jackie has been consistently positive. My experience with Dr. Martin also has been consistently positive. Sometimes he cannot fulfill my requests (like this week) and he provides an explanation. It doesn't change my opinion of how accommodating and compassionate he has been. Yes, it is hard to reach someone at the office. My experience with the staff in-person has been positive. Unfortunately, my experiences with Dr. Matian and his office have become increasingly frustrating, and I feel obligated to share them so others can make an informed decision before becoming patients. If I could give this practice zero stars, I would. I've been a patient for a little over three years, and I would not recommend this office to anyone seeking any sort of timely, attentive, or effective medical care. I have never actually seen Dr. Matian in person, even after multiple attempts to make in-person appointments. My most recent appointment was a brief phone call that lasted a little over 3 minutes. During that call, I was told an order for blood work would be submitted. A week later, after hearing nothing, I had to contact the office myself to follow up because the order had never been placed. What was even more concerning was that once I followed up, the office asked me to identify which blood tests had been ordered. I'm still not sure why they couldn't verify this information with the "doctor" who was supposed to have submitted the order, or review my medical chart. As the patient, I should not be responsible for tracking down basic information about my own treatment plan because the office failed to document or process it correctly. The entire experience made me question the purpose of the appointment in the first place. If my provider cannot follow through on the care discussed during our call, and patients have to chase down their own orders and treatment information afterward, something is clearly not working. Based on my most recent experience, and an overall abysmal three years of "care", I would strongly discourage anyone from going to this practice. The lack of follow through, communication, and attention to patient care has been extremely disappointing and at times alarming. read more

I'd skip this place. The doctor basically works via phone call only. The front desk staff turnover is alarmingly high. Basic things like records requests, referrals, and prescriptions take an unreasonable amount of time and effort on the part of patients. Basically, you have to volunteer as a temporary, part-time manager and ensure the staff does their job until they fulfill your request. I would not recommend this office. I made appointments with Dr. Arash Matian on two separate occasions, and both times he failed to show up for the scheduled appointment. Despite not being seen by the doctor, I was still charged a copay through my insurance. The lack of professionalism, communication, and respect for patients' time was extremely frustrating. Patients schedule appointments expecting medical care, not to be stood up and billed for services they never received. My experience left me feeling that this practice is more concerned with collecting payments than providing quality patient care. It is very unfortunate how patients are treated here. Ok, so I was with them for years. My advice: if you know what to expect from them you can just about manage. If you need anything that goes beyond the bare bones, go elsewhere. The ONLY contact you are going to get from them is via email to the front desk. You will never get a response if you call. Ever. If you need refills or need to make a non urgent appt (eg. in about a month), just email and someone like Tori will sort out the prescription or just give you a slot with Jacklyn Sarkissian (who is wonderful when you actually see her). If you want anything that is a bit more complicated... the email will be ignored by the office manager. Don't even get me started about him. In a nutshell I ended up leaving them last month after I happened to find out they were no longer going to accept my insurance. Again, I called and left three emails to ask about what was happening... but no one bothered to return any enquiries because (i assume) I was no longer a patient and they didn't feel like informing me of anything as important as that. Like I said, you are going to get awfully frustrated if you want to talk to anyone on the phone, or if what you're seeking is a bit complicated (especially if you have questions), or if you have any concerns regarding scheduling or office clerical things, but the doctors are nice when you do actually see them. The only reason I stayed so long was because i knew how to deal with them, and other PCP's in this are are even worse. read more

Dr Matian is knowledgable, has broad knowledge and interests. He's also interested in people as they are and is east to talk to , he's patient and has friendly spirit. The office staff is also attentive and easy to contact and is supportive. I've been seeing Dr Matian since i first moved to the Valley, i think that was about 16 or more years ago. i've always found ample space in the waiting room to sit comfortably. My experience with the staff here has been great! I appreciate the PA (Jacklyn) whom I have been seeing for about 4 years. She is always very reassuring and caring, I love that she truly takes into account my requests and very proactive in ensuring I achieve my health goals. Tori is an absolute gem, she goes above and beyond to get approvals promptly and follows up. Recently I had a health scare and the care she showed brought tears to my eyes. She always listens to my sometimes long winded explanations etc and in her gentle voice says I know or it's ok. It is truly a blessing for me to have found a team I genuinely like and feel comfortable with. The only issue I do face is that it sometimes takes a bit to get them on the phone. With that, I simply send an email and call back or leave a message and all gets sorted. P.s I've only seen Dr Matian once in person years ago and spoken to him twice. I found a better connection with Jacky not taking anything away from the Dr as he was nice etc. I've just built a great patient/Dr relationship with her. Jacky is very knowledgeable. read more

Dr matian is a caring amazing doctor! After all of the trials I've had with the other general care practitioners, he got my entire 360 health under control. I now see my endocrinologist that he referred me to and other specialists as well. For the first time in my life, I feel healthier than I've ever been, and I can only thank Dr matian for that. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! I never leave reviews, but I would be a disservice to humanity if I didn't warn them about this circus of an office. Can you believe the front desk told me the doctor doesn't do in person appointments because he's scared to get COVID. Ummm what? Yeah, you read that right. A doctor is scared of germs I guess. He hasn't been into his practice since 2020. Anyway, Jackie was nice, but she always delayed getting back to me because she said she wasn't the doctor and had to run it by Dr. Matian. This so-called Dr. Arash Matian is a complete disaster. I was assigned to him as my primary care doctor through Anthem/Optum. I had a severe emergency via an hospital emergency room as the pain in my leg/hip was a10/10. I couldn't walk or lift my left leg & I had to sleep in a chair as I couldn't lay down. I needed A cortisone injection with lidocaine but from Oct. 7,2024, the earliest his people could get me into a pain place was April 1st & April 13. You'd think since it was an emergency this Dr. Matian would get on the phone asking the pain place to hopefully fit me in as an emergency but this doctor never did such a thing. i spoke with his office & said I'll like to speak with this doctor & I was told I'd have to make an appointment just to speak to him. Can you believe that! I told Anthem/Optum I no longer want anything to do with Dr Matian & I filed a complaint. I now have a new doctor & I'm thrilled. This Dr. Matian needs to understand humanity & how to deal with people instead of him perching himself on a pedestal. Too bad I cannot give a '0' rating. read more

Love the nurses and nurse practitioners they're so helpful they have been my PCP for 2 years and alway send out requests, blood panels, referrals for me whenever I want and make going to the doctors soo convenient. They have helped me cope with conditions I was diagnosed and helped me catch them in time. Very unprofessional and unapologetic. I've been trying to make an appointment since August 5th 2022 for a referral to a dermatologist. October 13 I spoke with a Sarah at the office who told me that Dr Matian doesn't do in person visits anymore, but would schedule a 15 min telemedicine appointment for October 27th at 11am. I then received an email requesting certain ID and insurance information which I readily supplied to them. I waited till noon today for my 11am telemedicine call which never happened. At 12:30pm I called the office to ask what had happened, thinking he might have had an emergency to deal with but instead was told that the 11am appointment didn't really mean anything and that he was making calls till 8pm, I said if it doesn't mean anything why give me an 11am time? I'm writing this now at 9:40pm and still no call. Didn't think it would be such a big deal to get a referral for a dermatologist but it's starting to feel like it. I don't know this guy, never been to his office but it's a good thing my situation is not life threatening, or so I hope. read more

It is ironic that the doctor I have had for years disappeared . This was due to issues beyond his control. The problem was the staff did not update us on the Drs condition. They disappeared leaving us all hanging while he was going through his own issues. Dr Arash Matian is a good person. The staff is now responding, the Dr has support and we are good. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone. Seeing from previous reviews I am not the only one who feels this way. I only wished I had checked the reviews before I sent my husband here. They NEVER get back to you when you leave a message, so forget it. My husband suffers from a potentially life threatening condition and to get a prescription from this doctor has taken MONTHS and counting. Everyone from the front office to the "Dr." has proven to be either incompetent or careless (either of which are unacceptable when it comes to the health of my family). I don't understand how this place is allowed to operate. I have been a patient for years( my insurance is not authorizing a switch after several complaints). They never answer phones, voicemails or emails. I FINALLY got a hold on a front desk girl today who told me to go to urgent care because the doctor won't be able to authorize antibiotics for my infection anytime soon? Awful place. They don't care about you. They only care about your money. The people working at the desk clearly hate their job and it's such a displeasure talking them on the phone. This is a great office with amazing PAs and doctor. The staff cares about you and gets what you need done despite how busy it is. Like any doctors office, they are very busy and although sometimes I wait, I am always satisfied with the care I get here. I am always able to get an appointment with a PA within a week which is great. The staff is helpful, especially Colleen, with getting my Referrals done and getting back to me. She is patient and answers all my questions with dealing with the shitty insurance companies. I recommend this office and overall I love the office staff. read more

I guess I've finally reached my boiling point today. I have been coming to Dr. Matian for nearly 6 years now. The most annoying thing that is always and I mean ALWAYS an issue is the fact that every time I come here, I wait a minimum of an hour to be seen even when I have an appointment. About 2 years ago I left my dentist mid-procedure to come to my appointment with Matian to get my prescription filled and after being here for 2 years, my dentist left his office and I was left in pain for a whole day. I can't begin to express how difficult it already is taking time out of my work day to come to my doctors appointment but the fact that it is NEVER done in a timely manner is disappointing. Dr. Matian and staff, you really can't use the excuse "the doctor is running behind" if it's happened every single time in the past 6 years. I began coming here because I was referred by a family friend and at the time when I read his reviews he seemed great but coming back onto yelp and trading others reviews, I'm not the only one with this issue. They schedule patients in 15 minute increments just to make it as profitable as possible with zero consideration of others lives. The wait time is the real pitfall for this office. I've been coming to dr. Matian for many years. The last few years the wait time is an average of 1 hour. Today my appt. was at 3:30. I was seen at 4:55 That is just unacceptable. A complete disregard for the patients time. I used to see Dr Matian years ago at this office, he was very caring and took his time with his patients, now this office has become a machine, last I saw him was a few months ago, I had to wait almost an hour with appointment, you could tell how busy he was and you don't get the same quality care anymore. This is the worst doctor's office I've ever been to in my life. I was seen here once before and they seem fine. A little disorganized but fine. However, the second time around is just awful. Everytime I called to make an appointment no one would answer and I would have to leave a message and of course no body ever returned my call from the office. After two weeks of this, I went to the office in person to make an appointment. The entire front desk staff just do not care at all about the patients. They seem so disinterested in their job and have the worst attitude ever. Furthermore, they apparently called and left a voicemail (that I did not receive) the day before that the doctor had an emergency conference and cannot come and and canceled my appointment. What kind of conference is an emergency?! How do you make it so hard to get an appointment or reach anyone and then cancels the appointment. This place is HORRIBLE. There is no point in making an appointment the physician assistants (you'll be lucky if you see the doctor) will see you when they get around to it, but no less than waiting at least an hour while the entire lobby is empty. I mean, literally I've been the only person in there and no one gives a crap, it takes forever. But of course if your 5 minutes late they'll make you wait 2 hours- The front desk people don't care about keeping you updated or even acknowledging your presence or that you've been waiting. I've been coming to Dr. Matian for the past 8 years. From day one I have felt very comfortable with him and his experience. He has seen me in the worst of times, when I went thru breast cancer, and he always seemed to care more than any family doctor I have ever seen, which is why I now bring all 3 of my children here. He is always so kind to me and my children!!!! Who likes going to the Doctor? Not many people. But if u have to, definitely Dr. Matian is the one!!!!!
