This is easily the best Turkish restaurant in Oxford, and the best Kebab place in the town too…read more Although it can fulfill the needs of the average kebab seeker, it really does come into its own as a restaurant. In fact, somehow it manages to avoid all the late-night drunk student/lager lout crowd. They don't belong here, it's just too classy. The staff deliver generous portions, and free warm Turkish bread for starters, which is always welcome. The service is unbelievably good, friendly, and it's run by people who really do have passion for their cuisine, and are eager to leave every customer satisfied. If you ask them, they'll even bring you Turkish tea afterwards, although it would be nice if it was served in small Turkish glasses rather than over-sized Coffee cups. I highly recommend Cowley Road's legendary Bodrum Kebab restaurant!

THAT Kebab Kid would get 5 stars from me in a heartbeat. Great service, good amount of tables, delicious food served quickly, convenient location... yeah. Cowley gets 5 stars. Gloucester Green... 3 stars. There's about 5 seats total in this restaurant - it's definitely more geared for takeaway. I'd recommend the takeaway option myself, as the seats and counters that are there aren't the cleanest. The service was decent, the food delicious as always, and they have Rubicon Mango, which is like nectar from the gods. This location is convenient for those staying at Oxford's hostels or just stepping off/on the bus or train, since it's near both stations. If your visit to Oxford is quick, stop in and grab a kebab naan to go. If you have more time to spend... hop on the bus to Cowley Road to sit down and enjoy your meal. It's across from Tesco and the logo looks like a cross between Elvis and Johnny Bravo- you can't miss it.

Kebab kid was not long ago refurbed and is therefore still fairly clean and pleasant :) the staff are really friendly and funny and dont mind if you take ages ooooing and errrring :) I have always found the food -burgers and kebabs- really really good and i have tried quite a few things. i especially like their burgers and their kofte kebab is excellent...smothered in garlic sauce....although this is less advised if you are on the pull ;) Definitely the place to visit on your way home from park end or the S.U...i would say the bridge but of course their clientèle is far to posh for a kebab .... ;)

Chinese food is a big passion of mine - both eating and cooking and i hardly ever find a take away…read morewhich is as good as restaurant food or my Chinese friends home cooking! But this take away is AMAZING. possibly my favourite Chinese take away. Every time i have ordered from here my food has been not warm, but hot. Lovely and hot. Not too greasy and runny either. You can go and collect your food (phone the order through first), or they will do home delivery. They are very clear and helpful over the phone. I definitely recommend this take away!

However, we were greeted very well, and service was to a good high standard. The food was of a good quality however, Im positive that you can gain very similar dishes in Pizza Express for a few pounds cheaper. The Cappuccino coffee was quite good, and the food when it arrived looked quite nice, although why a bacon and egg breakfast baguette was served with a small salad on the side is beyond me! Unfortunately there weren't any condiments on our table, so I 'rescued' some from the table next door. Unfortunately there was no bung in the bottom of the pepper pot, so no pepper. I adopted another pepper pot from a third table, and started to liberally add pepper to my cooked egg. Having done this I paused, because the pepper was a strange red-brown colour. I sprinkled some into my hand and sniffed at it definitely not pepper. I asked for assistance and explained my problem: it certainly wasn't normal black or white pepper. The waitress explained oh that's Cayenne pepper: it is supposed to be in the kitchen, someone's brought it out again. She got me a pepper pot from a fourth table, and this time it was pepper. The waitress did offer to replace my sandwich, but I made the mistake of saying it would be alright because we couldn't afford the extra time. It was a mistake: I can't recommend breakfast baguette seasoned with Cayenne, not nice. Overall I'm not impressed, but this was mainly due to a stupid error of Cayenne in a standard pepper pot and it taking 4 tables to get working condiments! Salad with a bacon and egg sandwich? They really do need to try harder on the simple things. If I lived locally I'd probably re-visit to give them another chance, but I don't think I will get chance to. Disappointing.
