Come in and feed the ducks, the pigeons, even what looked like a water vole when I was in there... Maybe opt to get a take-away from Diep Noodle Bar and feed yourself too. Like any good city park, it manages to feel sufficiently open and enclosed all at once.

Deeper, the park opens up a good bit and is overlooked by apartment blocks. So the secret is spoiled. But in return you get a lake sporting swans, ducks, and surprisingly large fish. I'll call it a fair trade. If you can catch a few moments of sunshine, this is a reasonably nice spot to grab some lunch. There are benches set around the water, but people tend to prefer the grass embankments that rise away from the pond. From up high it feels like you are in a stadium where people have gathered to watch to geese settle their differences. So, that's fun.

I walked here all the way from the hotel I was staying at - Hotel Clayton. The walk was quite nice, the park is located near some quaint neighborhoods. There are several entrances to the park so it isn't hard to miss. The park goes across streets so you have to cross certain parts of the park in order to fully see the WHOLE PARK. They have a bunch of flower beds that are really pretty as you walk thru the park. There is a little pond area where swans populate - I saw a couple people feeding them but I now know that isn't the best thing. So just FYI; it doesn't help them if you feed them. Even during a weekday - the park had a lot more people than I thought it would. And it was a gloomy day too - but let's face it - it's Ireland, it's gloomy sometime during the day everyday. lol. All in all - a great park!

Does anyone think about me?... besides myself? After queuing up for 2 hours to go to a theme park in IRELAND of all places I was handed a complimentary pack of Tayto on the way in. I could've brought my own supply I thought to myself, but I bit my tongue. After opening up the bag of crisps and scanning my environment I poured the contents onto the floor so the pigeons could have a healthy supper. I heard one of them say "proper feast bro" but it could have been one of the voices in my head. I locked eyes with Mr Tayto. A poor college student trapped in an overheated suit and mask. I couldn't make out his face but I could hear him whimpering: he said under his breath that he would be better quitting the job and sell his grandmothers heart medication on the dark web and to relaunch his onlyfans account. This time he said he'd do it properly. No mistakes this time. At least; I think he said something like that. Probably. This stand off between Mr Tayto and I lasted for far too long and got really awkward so I pretended to choke on a crisp. I gagged and wheezed and in my attempt at looking genuine, everyone just looked at me with contempt and not ONE member of staff offered to honour my delusion by pretending to believe my life was in danger. I felt slighted by their cynical (but correct) assessment of the situation and would have liked some attention off them. So to tayto park i say: Thanks but no thanks! Instead of a pack of noisy school children running round, we were a pack of twenty to thirty somethings, racing round to go on the big rides (personally I thought the rotator was most fun), flying down zipwires, balancing on the skywalk, enjoying huge lunches in the restaurant, ooh-ing at the animals in the zoo and finishing off with huge ice creams before claiming our pack of crisps on leaving the site. A bit expensive to visit (especially if you're in a family group as entrance price plus wristband costs can start to add up), but a fun day out for all (whether you're a kid, or just a kid at heart)

Seapoint's like the ugly one that tries desperately to fit in with the others, but just can't, no matter how hard they try. Oh, and it lost their blue flag, which was it's single redeeming feature. However, it's a popular bathing spot, and there are crazy diehards who swim here every day. Mad altogether, but Seapoint's actually OK if you are swimming as opposed to paddling. So I'm told anyway...why you would swim in Irish waters is beyond me.

We taxied up from city center to Phoenix Park and it wasn't too far. There are local bars and such not too far from the park if you need a snack or brew before hitting the park. We were told that this park sometimes hosts concerts and some major events, even that Obama had visited and spoke during one of his trips. The park is lush, spacious and with lots of nature to see. My favorite thing about this park is the free roaming deer that you can see. They are extremely friendly and gentle. It's so unique to get an experience like this to walk with deer and to have them be so comfortable that you can approach them and that there were so many. A beautiful place to spend an hour or two in nature and not far from Dublin City, worth checking out.

The park is one of the largest enclosed recreational spaces in any European capital city. 1700 acres, it's home to the Dublin Zoo, the Flower Gardens and more. Lots of walking paths. Lots of monuments including the Wellington. Lots of meadows and woodlands and landscaped spots. The park is peaceful even with the buses running along its main avenue.
