Their communication from the start was superb! I had so many questions and other house maintenance appointments going on but they worked with me on a game plan especially since it had been raining so much lately and having to reschedule. I requested a first time service with overgrown grass and their quote wasn't bad at all. I got some quotes from other businesses but they kept adding on extra things whereas abc lawn care included cut, trimming, edging and blowing. I feel that they gave a more than fair price for these results! I was told that because the lawn was damp from previous rain and because it was overgrown that it wasn't as clean as usual maintenance which I completely understand. I am so happy with their work! On July 22, 2024 I texted Ashley of Asher Landscaping St. Louis. My husband and I had tried this company for mowing our small yard a couple times and we honestly liked their work. We also recommended this company to a friend who was recently disabled and couldn't keep up with his lawn care. Anyway, I felt I could trust them and asked them to give us a bid for having topsoil mix spread in our small backyard to even it out. The former owners had veggie gardens out there and we wanted to change the look. Anyway, it was July 22, 2024 and I should not have but I prepaid the $180.00 which is the amount Austin the manager/owner bid the job as. Anyway, it was hot weather and we empathized with them and just were patient and trusted that they would eventually get on our project next. This was after many calls and texts to Ashley, the manager and wife of Austin the owner. She even admitted that we had truly waited a long time for their services and that she'd "have the guys come the next day". That went on a while. Weeks tuned into months. I even texted Asley that maybe they should give our $180.00 back if they couldn't or wouldn't get on our project. They kept putting our yard off in favor of their other clients. So anyway, July turned in September. I saw the Asher Landscaping truck parked at a local gas station where I frequent. I asked them in a friendly way after many texts to Ashley in the past, as to when they were finally going to get on our backyard project They just smiled and went about their way. This couple has a way of playing pity party and once got into a conversation with me that certain clients either don't pay them after services are rendered, or make them wait several days before they pay them. I used to do landscaping and I felt sorry for them because they have young children and that's why I made the mistake of handing them the cash. Austin didn't write up a contract but I felt I could trust this company because they mow the lawn for my neighbor and I felt they wouldn't take advantage of us, because we referred them to our friend so they could have another regular client. Watch this company. They start out like they are trustworthy, but they are predatory and dishonest. Shame on you, Asher Landscaping for treating good neighbors who were helpful to you like you did. I can't sue them for my money back because I have no receipts.
