Loved the place and the staff!! Me and my boyfriend payed a visited to Prince Coffee House yesterday while exploring Arthur Ave and had a fantastic experience. The place was packed and very inviting! The blonde waitress was amazing and went above and beyond to make sure me and my boyfriend had a great time. She suggested we try their famous "Turkish coffee and macchiatos" , both of which were delicious. Oh we also suggest the " Tres Leches" fresh and very delicious. Everybody there seemed to have a good time. The only downside is the people outside would smoke leaving a very bad smell, oh and the menus didn't have the prices written down. Our total came to 17$ which is not bad for two drinks and a cake. Will definitely go back again. read more

If i can give a negative star I would. It was so uncomfortable being there. Being in the Bronx, right next to Fordham at least, I thought I would be treated regularly. I should mention that this is an all white staff and I am black, because this experience was nothing short of racist. I've been there 3x and I was not served 2x I've been there. Those two times, I would have to go up to get service. The last time, I waited 30 mins to be approached and nothing. I thought this establishment would be my go to spot to catch up on some homework but the way I was treated, no way. Today, after I ordered, a short lady with red hair came up with my stuff, slammed my coffee and pastry on the table and then walked off. It was a disgusting thing to watch. This was the same lady that ignored my table but would go up to another table where other white people were seated and write down their order. She also left when I was about to place my order. I had to wait another couple minutes before a male employee took my order. I even tipped $2 on top of my $8 order to seem nice, because I didn't want to think me not tipping or paying was in the way of the horrible service but it did not matter. Will not come back again. This is a racist establishment. I came to Yelp read the reviews after my experience and I was not far off. I am not the only one that had this encounter. Absolutely disgusting. read more

Very European in style and vibe. I don't think I had an experience like this except for when I stayed in Paris for a few weeks. The experience here is probably its best aspect. Their outdoor seating is small but with lots of space. They also have a park across the street. The fact that many of the surrounding buildings are only a few stories high adds to the European flare of the dining experience. They also have croissants, espresso and dessert pastries. They only offer regular croissants but it reminded me that in Paris even bars carried plain croissants. I also had one of their shakes and that was pretty good as well. Unfortunately one downside of this place is they seem to forget some seats. I think its a general problem with outdoor dining places in Europe as well so maybe they took those habits as well. We still had a great experience though. I highly recommend trying a brunch here. read more

Neither of the girls acknowledges my presence, looks around to see if they can assist any customers walking in, they're both way too consumed with talking to their male friends next to and behind the counter. I intended on treating myself to a cup of something here as a client had treated me to an afternoon coffee here once. I LOVED the vibe and the easygoing atmosphere. However, upon entering this establishment recently, I was greeted by a young Caucasian employee who greeted me as "brotha" (as a black man with a beard and wearing wooden beads around my neck, this should've been a red flag but I tried my best to ignore this. Why not just refer to me as "Sir", "man" or even "dude"?). I was pretty thrown off by this comment. I have Caucasian friends who use this term as a term of affection and in a genuine "brotherly love" tone. This employee's delivery came off intentionally offensive-he KNEW the way he was saying it was inappropriate-the look I gave him after he said it prompted him to try to get me seated before I took it further. He gave me a rather worn-down menu, told me to "grab a table" and I would be waited on momentarily. I sat in the back of the shop and waited no more than 5 minutes when a Caucasian family of 8 came in (SPOILER: There was PLENTY of seating for this family.). A younger Caucasian employee with facial hair approached me and asked me to move to another table to accommodate the family of 8-despite there being PLENTY of room in the back of the shop. To top this racist foolishness and fuckery off, the tables are able to be moved and arranged so the family could've easily resolved this issue. There was hardly anyone in the shop. There were three white men sitting as a group across from me at a different table and a fair-skinned man of color was sitting in the exact same long table as I was, literally not sitting too far from me. However, I (a dark brown-skinned, bearded, Nigerian-American man with African garb on) was asked to move to another table to accommodate this family. I (surprisingly) calmly told the waiter that instead I will just leave.The employee didn't justify his approaching me. It honestly didn't make any sense. As a matter of fact, it did. No need to delve any further as it would take a complete imbecile to see what occurred. It's 20-fuckin' 22. I will NOT be spending my hard earned money here. Very rude service- took forever and were like openly rude. The coffee was okay but not worth it to basically beg to be waited on and then sneered at. Boo! Prince is the perfect coffee shop for groups that work from home. It's very spacious and they have a lot of seating, including the downstairs table which seats about 10 people. I got the Turkish coffee and the Café Parisien which were both pretty good! I didn't get anything to eat but I see they have a lot of pastries. The service wasn't horrible but I wish the servers were a bit more attentive. I wish they would've come by my table more often instead of me having to seek them out. I love that this place closes at 11 pm which is pretty late for most coffee shops. If you're a college student this place is ideal for studying. I'd definitely come back! After a great time in the colorful Italian neighborhood of Arthur Avenue, we decided to settle in for some espresso & lattes. I don't normally rate coffee places, but why not? Lol. This place was great. The workers were upbeat & friendly. The interior chairs & tables faced converging streets & sidewalks allowing one to watch life go by while sipping coffee. I ordered a caramel latte & it arrived with all the right layers in the right proportions. Most places stir it all together before being served. This Turkish coffee place has such a european vibe to it that I would come here for atmosphere alone. I love that they do table service so that you have the feeling of a coffee and pastry that you can linger over. It's amazing to go with friends. I guess you could work here but that feels a bit like defeating the purpose. Went in for an early Sunday afternoon snack with my boyfriend. He ordered the Turkish coffee sweet which was served in a paper cup (pictured) and way too sweet. We were extremely disappointed since we went for the experience of the traditional coffee and the unique way its served. Prince Coffee House caught my eye the last time I was on Arthur Ave. For the most part, being on Arthur Ave is stepping back to the old school - it's the real Little Italy of New York City and many of the businesses here highlight some of the best Italian restaurants and food shops the city has to offer. That being said, a lot of newer businesses have popped up, and Prince Coffee House is part of that. Capping the corner of Arthur Ave before the turn onto Crescent Ave, Prince is stands out by being very open and modern looking - the facade is completely made up of windows and the inside has a mixture of contemporary coffeehouse with old world charm. There are a number of tables in the main dining area, as well as a back room and (I think) a downstairs area. If I had to guess this place sees a lot of Fordham students - it practically asks you to study in it. Walking in you're greeted with a large barista counter with a display case filled with pastry. Since we weren't getting stuff to go we were invited to sit down and browse the menu before our waitress came to take our order. Note that they only have menus for coffee and tea - I'm guessing you have to just browse the pastry case and let them know what you want. I decided to just order a caffe latte - the temperature was on point when it was served and overall it was very good - super fitting for such a cold night. Super nice spot in the Bronx! I work around the city so I always try to find nice gems to drop in when I'm in the neighborhood. This has definitely been added to my list. Tables are serviced - they prefer to go to you and have you order whatever you want there. Cool idea. I only tried the banana espresso. So good that I got it twice. Yup. Went here to decompress after a long day and get some work done. Loved everything about their vibe. They have tons of seating, outside, inside, and there's a downstairs. I was greeted and one of the waitresses took my order so I wouldn't stand in line even though only one person was ahead of me. They brought my drink and cookies to my table for me. My latte was good, if somewhat small even though I got the large. The cookies weren't the best I've ever had, but they were yummy to dip in my coffee. A bit confused as we had 1 server approach us and when we said we weren't ready yet, few minutes later another server came and we ordered only for the first server to come back a few minutes later again and we told him we ordered with the other person. I loved that they didn't hover over us for the check it really allowed to have your guard down and not rush a 2-3 hour long convo. Prince coffee house is a lovely little gem nestled in the heart of Little Italy. The coffee itself is fantastic in the presentation is truly photo-worthy! However, you would be doing yourself a disservice if you didn't try the delicious array of deserts. I visited on a Friday afternoon and while the place was buzzing with what I assume to be regulars, it was nowhere near crowded and I snagged a lovely little spot near the windows. The noise level was a typical coffee shop Vibe, nowhere near too loud for regular conversation. You may have to flag down your server if you want to order or get the check, but them not checking in didn't feel neglectful as much as it did encouraging of patrons to self identify when they needed assistance. I would definitely come back for some coffee, to work out of the space, or simply for some of those wonderful sweet treats! read more

The space is nice. Spacious and has good wifi, and outlets which is great if you need to get work done. The service however was absolutely terrible. The waitress and waiter were not attentive at all and were very unwelcoming, you make your order at the front and they bring it to you, they do not pick up cups or plates from your table. I finished my crepe and the plate was on my table for two hours, they never picked it up. The food was not the best, they only serve coffee, smoothies and sweet desserts. I liked that they also had outdoor seating, which is probably great in the summertime. The soy latte was one of the best I've had in the city. Service was a little spotty, I had to ask about seating and ordering and paying. I was also disappointed by was the lack of diversity. The location is very gorgeous, and the place is a great place to catch up with some friends. I specifically love the view. But if you are not white, stay clear of this place. Apart from the staring, how they treated me drastically differs from how my white counterparts were treated from how they spoke to me and avoided my table altogether until my white companions joined me. For a coffee shop residing in a borough predominantly made up of Black and Brown people, they act as if I am intruding. There's a short redhead waitress and the blonde waitress who are specifically rude. Proceed with caution. read more
