Headed up North for Region 3 Junior Olympic Region meet. The location sits outside the local football stadium and while poorly marked, the maps take you right onto the space. There is varied parking. Lots B and C are closest to the track but the back lot has more than enough room for overflow. The track is tucked behind fencing cut there is more than enough space for tents and space to camp out outside the venue. While it's no VA Beach or Greensboro, the space does the job. The staff was kind and the park had more than enough police presence to keep it safe. read more

Rating is for the pool only. We've been twice so far and for out of county resident it's $8/per kid. The swim area is split into two areas. The first features a slide, a jacuzzi and a lazy river in addition to open space. On the other side it's just lanes I believe. The facility was clean enough and has 3 family sized bathrooms for more privacy. I think the area will be closed soon for renovations but we will definitely be back on the slow days where we just need to get out. read more

Hey friends! My friends and I started a new workout journey together. We decided to come here for the gym, the fitness classes, and the pool. It's an amazing facility. The fitness center is suitable for all levels. Equipment is well taken care of and has a great variety of equipment. There's two levels of workout space. The top floor has a walking track and many cardio machines. There's cubbies to store your things, if not, locker rooms are available as well. If you're shy like me, you'll enjoy this facility. Even on the weekends it wasn't too busy. Also there's plenty of space to workout with no one near you. The pool is nice! Great for children, it has a slide and waterfall. The hot tub is warm and clean. -Day pass is $5. Memberships are $20. -There's a cafe on the main floor. -Plenty of parking. -Staff is very friendly. -There's a gymnastics studio and a track where local students practice. How is it that I have lived in gorgeous Prince George's all my life and have never been here other than to vote? Having a kid opens up doors I tell ya, geez. So, this place is massive, every place you turn there are areas to keep your kid busy. Of course in order to find those activities one must go online or search in the paper book. Keep in mind that you may not be able to enroll in classes due to your location. There are areas to eat, business spaces, and kind staff to help with any concern. I visited the pool as a chaperone for a summer camp field trip, and the kids and big kids (adults) all had a great time! The pool has a few distinct areas like a splash area for the babies and littles, a small wave pool type area where the water is gently flowing around a circular track, a hot tub, and a water slide. The life guards were set up at several stations and playing close attention to everyone and making sure pool rules were being followed. There's a lap pool next door as well for more experienced swimmers. The locker room area was clean and had a good amount of lockers and showers. read more

This gem in Prince George's County is a Community delight. As a Senior I found out I could use the facilities for free Monday Wednesday and Friday for free if You get there before noon. I thought that meant the pool and was pleasantly surprised to find out that also meant the hot tub water slide walking pool lap pool gym and track. They also have a place to eat and lounge. I also went there to vote early and was given a ride to and from My car. Staff is very friendly knowledgeable and helpful and will let You know of any upcoming activities.This is Premier for Men Women or Children with a multitude of activities. I have been here so many times over the years because there's so much to do. This place has tons of space and activities for children and adults. My daughter has participated in summer camps and she loves the pool area. Despite the frequent visits, the experiences with the staff are usually unpleasant. The customer service isn't great and I've had more rude encounters than positive ones with staff. I wish that wasn't the case because otherwise, this is a great center and convenient for me to get to. read more

This place is a staple in the community. My daughter has gymnastics here once a week and while I love the program we have outgrown the program as it lacks progress with the given curriculum. The staff are pleasant, but its a pain when trying to use the complex for multi use. Such as the indoor free tracks are unavailable during the winter as they are leased for formal track competitions. During this time you should be able to use the upstairs track thats attached to the gym. In addition, the cafeteria lacks quality hot food in the evenings which is pertinent as sone of our kids have practice that extends beyond an hour. I believe the concept is good; however they also need more working stations as it is not unusual for all tables and chairs to be taken up with parents working while their children attend classes and programs. The execution originally was stellar however it has remained the same and not progressed with its need within the community. read more

Can't really speak too much on the rest of the complex.. We go to open gym-it's $8 for an hour which isn't terrible but they give the impression the staff will be interactive and help the kids learn new things and that's just not true. The kids run around and jump, which they enjoy but other than telling children what they can not do (1 jumper at a time per trampoline/etc) they don't really talk to you or give feedback. Fun way to burn energy before lunch though. Kind of cluttered and not a ton to do other than trampoline and the pit. read more

I visited for the first time yesterday. I went during the "senior citizen" time, when we get in for free until noon on MWF. The whole place is enormous, labyrinthian. They certainly have everything one could want as far as equipment goes. I didn't have time to explore everything but I'm looking forward to future visits. I was impressed that in the fitness center they have wipes available instead of the usual spray bottle and bad paper towels. One thing that could be improved is handicapped access to the women's locker room. It's on a different level than the fitness center so you have to use stairs. There's an elevator but you can't use it to get there because otherwise people would come in without paying. There should be a better solution, like being able to use one's membership card to access the locker room level. read more

I was really impressed with the care of the facilities and attentiveness of the lifeguards. There were lots of kids from three different camps including those with special needs when I was there and I never worried about anyone's safety. The restaurant, Betty's place, offered a nice, quiet place for my baby and toddler to eat lunch. My only complaint is open gymnastics was sold out despite us arriving a few minutes early. What a sight to see! I came to participate in the Masters Indoor Championships at the indoor track section. In the meantime while waiting for my race I led myself on a self guided tour of this gargantuan facility. This facility has the following: * Indoor track and space for field events. * Gymnastics competition space * Massive swimming pool. * Massive aquatic center (splashy stuff for kids and a hot tub). * Karate class space * Fitness center with a small indoor track which overlooks the main indoor track. * A restaurant. There could've been more but I didn't have a membership so I didn't have access to everything. Membership hers you a heck of a deal with access to soamy things to do here. I checked the membership fee and it wasn't really expensive, very affordable. Overall, this place is stellar and I wish there was something like this in Philly. read more

Today I had a rude day at sports and learning complex it was a bad experience I wanted to take the deep water and the aerobics class and I went online to sign up for the class and it says available ana but when I called the sports and learning complex they said that I had to register for the class in person so I had no problem with that so a man with a bald head told me if I get there before three pm that I can get registered for the class but when I get there the computers were turned off and he was getting ready to leave that is professional if a person can't sign up for a class and if they are going to close then just tell the customer the truth they can't sign up for the class and if the class is full then it's full and if both sessions is going to be full then fine I had very bad customer service on 6/1/22 at 2:32 pm read more

I found this place online while trying to search for other options due to a rain out (no beach for us :( I took my 3 nephews (13,10,9) and my brother (15). Upon Arrival I was amazed at the venue it was clean inside and I could see where some other sporting events are held . I said to myself I need to bring them here often they may have some events or activities that will interest them. Now my review is solely based on the aquatic area (Leisure Pool) as I didn't venture to any other areas. The front desk rep greeted us and we paid to enter at around 2PM. The cost for MD residents was 5.00 per adult and 4.00 per child . We were given a number ticket in which you hand over once you get down stairs to the pool area ; I am guessing this process is in place for proof of payment . We had a bag of towels and went to put them in a locker which cost 1.00 I payed for the locker placed our belongs in and great it didn't lock :( My brother went to get a rep but returned alone as he said the rep stated there is no refunds and that I should pull it close and turn the knob quickly . That right there pissed me off and I was feeling regretful for coming . I didn't ask for a refund we asked for assistance to be shown . Anyway I just ended up taking the bag and sitting our belongs inside . Well as soon as we walk in it sounds like a football game with multiple penalties THEY BLEW THE WHISTLE SOO MUCH !! Omg let the kids be kids. Okay I completely understand pool safety and all but whoa ! I mean people I;m talking kids and adults got whistles blown at them for crazy things and they don't say why they are blowing until about the 5th whistle . If you even touched a shoulder they assume you are about to jump on someone and just go to blowing , touch the rope and whistles blow ,get on the step whistles blowing what the hell . I sat on the side and watched before I got in. I noticed as the crowd died down so did the whistles . Oh and breaks seemed like every 30 mins when we first arrived but just like the whistles as the crowd died so did the breaks. They have a huge Hot Tub which I had planned to sit in while they were in the pool but it was not working. I do not know why or if its only open on certain days and times but that was a bummer I thinks that is a good option for older guest to use who want to relax . So I wasn't too upset because again maybe it has certain hours or days so I just took that as a lost and got in the pool. I will be calling to find out the details and will update my review**. All In All its a nice little place for kids I say no older then 14. The pool goes up to 4ft . I like the fact it allows the kids who can swim to pretty much enjoy the pool all over with out it being too deep. They have a water slide , a section of dump buckets and water blasts for smaller kids , and wave section where the current pretty much floats you around- that was fun . FYI:1.) If your child requires a life vest- I over heard that it must have some type of certified seal of approval on it so call and check before hand .!! I saw several people have to remove the vest from the child and hold the child in the pool . I guess this is for safety reasons to ensure the vest is up to standards . 2.) The chlorine is extremely strong ! So take a break do not stay in too long my eyes started to burn and so did one of my nephews. If you have sensitive eyes be careful . 3.)Storage is lockers only unless you bring your belongings inside which was not too bad but the seating is limited so you may end up sitting your belongs on the floor up against the wall but remember its a pool so people are walking around wet so dont have valuables or electronics exposed that you wouldn't want to get wet.You have to pay 1.00 EACH time you want to open your locker so have cash I will go again as they did have fun but I will be prepared next time and try to get there early before the crowd . This was a rainy day so I know a summer day is jammed packed. read more

OMG the lifeguards weren't as whistle happy as they normally are. One was initially out of dang control (light - medium brown skinned, tall, close cut) Management jumped on his butt (very professionally I must add) & made him go over & explain why he was whistling the man's children. other than that quick situation my family had an absolutely fantastic time! How do you hold a track meet at this facility and you have everyone parking in LOT D which is the furthest parking lot from the stadium!!! The lot which is right nExt to the stadium is not open. I cannot overstate the value of this complex. I have taken multiple classes here, viewed high school track meets here, and recently signed up for their fitness center (see ya, other gym!). The pool is magnificent, the facilities are well maintained, and the movable floor closest to the entrance is great for a variety of activities. There's a beautiful family swim center with a waterslide, and each time I pass it, I see a kids swim class going on there. The fitness center has plenty of machines, and even offers classes. I am looking forward to trying those. There's also a lovely little cafe inside for those looking for a snack, and a set of pinball machines and old games for antsy little ones! This place is truly a gem of the community. Most of the staff I've worked with have been part time workers who have retired from another career, or really young high school students. This is nice, because everyone who works here has demonstrated wanting to work here. There's a discount and early registration opportunity for classes for people who live in the impact area (an area very close to the center). I think these kind of thoughtful touches make it clear that this facility was designed with the community in mind. Top notch facilities, fun classes, reasonable prices, and nice people. Really? Not one Yelp yet? Well let's fix that. BEST.PLACE.FOR.GYMNASTIC.INSTRUCTION.IN.THE.DC.AREA.HANDS.DOWN!!!!!! The equipment is state-of-the-art. The instructors are competent without being scarily Bela Karolyi-ish. Shower facilities are immaculate and "for those participants who are uncomfortable with a gender-specific locker room, there are (THREE!!!) family changing rooms." The competition pool is perfectly temperatured- the water aerobicizing grammies and the Type-A workout lunchtime lunch swimmers all say they're pleased with the temp. There is a great play pool with a water slide and a small lazy river. For toddlers and up, there's a shallow play area and lifeguards are ALERT and ACTIVE and I feel safe with my kid there. Indoor rubber running track is a delight to run on... as if I could use delight and run in the same sentence without retching. And they play music like Earth Wind and Fire and Aretha Franklin while you run. If you have never run to "Chain of Fools," you're missing out! There's wi-fi, a cute little cafe that sells okay food for a place in the middle of PG for those with some interest in healthful dining, and the staff are all quite nice. Good times! read more

If this review were to be based on Mrs. Monique kickboxing class it would be a 5 star... but it's not... so here I go... I use to be a member of the gym here... but they have really gone down hill.... For one it's like $54 a month... and that doesn't even include the pool... Drop in classes are usually $10 but some months they $5... they should just make it $5 over all... Some of the people that teach the classes are totally not qualified... and over weight... not that sounds pretty bad... but I don't trust a skinny chef... and I def would take advice from a gym instructor that talk about going to Wendy's after class... Also there's never a point where all of the equipment is functional... and it take months and I mean MONTHS to get it fixed... read more

I have taken my daughter here for gymnastics and tumbling for years. However the quality of the training in tumbling has decreased tremendously. They simply mix kids together of any skill level just to maximize their earnings. The advance course had kids in it who could barely cartwheel. Instead of removing them they let them stay, mean while your child won't be learning the skills you paid for. The instructors weren't even teaching. I was so disappointed, I brought my issues to management and they could care less. Do not take your kids here for tumbling. read more

My kids have taken several classes here. Outside facility is clean and there's plenty of parking. Free WiFi to keep you entertained while kids are in class. Discounted rates for PG County residents. Now my child is on one of the Sportsplex teams and they constantly change practice times without advance notice and they try to nickel and dime parents with excessive uniform and miscellaneous booster club expenses. Very rude staff members working the door of the track meet on Saturday 12/10/2022. They make you download some app, put in a credit card etc all with no advance notice, while you're standing at the door trying to enter. Then promptly at 2PM, they quit checking anyone for admission, so everyone who paid from 9AM-2PM got thoroughly ripped off and inconvenienced. Staff sat and watched scores of ppl enter without paying after 2pm along with a MD Park officer sitting at the door on her phone the entire time. Big signs on door "No Re-Entry". Made up by the staff. So if your kid runs at 10 and not again until 4, you can't leave and reenter? Staff was very clear and condescending "you can come back, but you gonna pay again". Even if you manage to leave, you don't want to be outside. Hoopties in the parking lot and reeking of weed by the bus pick up for the kids. A parent literally found a .32 shell casing in the parking lot. Please, please, find a better place to hold events. This is abysmal. The risk of carjacking in the area is a real thing. read more

This place has it all- I have now been here a few times. I came twice for kickball practices/scrimmages and we had plenty of space (just couldn't kick too high of a pop fly or else the ball is up in the rafters). Next, my friend had her baby shower here. They offered a reasonable price for the size of the space and we had access to a room for setup/prep in addition to the main area. We had about 70 guests in the party room. Only negatives were that there was no kitchen to keep things warm/cool and that the crew was still breaking down the previous night's event (wasn't for long and my folks weren't there in time anyway so didn't really affect us lol). Most recently, I was a vendor in the Tots to Teens Expo today. Such a great event! For the most part, everything went smoothly. Even as a late registrant, everything was provided for me on time from the facility. If I asked a question, someone was always willing to help or try to find someone to help me. Some activities at my booth were a little messy and the maintenance/facilities were willing to help sweep up whenever I requested. The event itself was amazing, with food trucks and a petting zoo outside, to fitness classes, vendors, and STEM workshops inside. There were also cooking demonstrations and crafting booths. The staff is helpful and there is always loads of activities for people of different age ranges to do. Their pool was just recently renovated.. great for anybody who wants to get swim lessons, take water aerobics or just a swim period. The cafe near the main entrance has these delicious mango smoothies that I highly recommend and don't forget to walk off any food menu items in the indoor track (for free) . Also inside the indoor track is a scale too because lets face it who isn't curious what their weight is every now and then. There's no app for that. Parking is plenty full and spring/summer seasons you can even use the outside gym equipment for free. It's really fun if you have children that you want to use as your gym partner. Take your pets too but have them leashed and pick up that poo. I don't want to do squats and see or smell dog poo. Overall whether your looking to spend money or not this place is exactly what it's named.. A sports complex. Public transportation is even right at the front entrance as well & that is a plus. I was trying to set up a birthday party for my son. I contacted this establishment over a month in advance. I filled out all necessary documentation. The staff take their time in contacting. I have called numerous times and sent numerous emails with no response. I even went up to the establishment and they told me twice that no one was available to talk to me. I called today and the woman caught a attitude with me over the phone talking about only thing she can do is transfer you to the phone and she don't know what else that she can do for me. I recommended no families in PG County attend this disrespectful, unprofessional, establishment. I hung up the phone because I was frustrated and she calls me back to defend herself. First, it's a complete failure on the local Yelp team that the Sports and Learning Complex was overlooked for the best gyms in the MD suburbs list. While I don't love living in the area, S&L makes it worth it. This is the gym to end all gyms, with both indoor and outdoor facilities. Some of the amenities: cheap membership, indoor track, outdoor track, huge gymnastics complex, multiple pools, two floor fitness center, locker rooms, smack bar, and much more! The classes are so affordable and staffed by fabulous trainers. Plus, I've never felt judged. I think S&L is a great community in itself and a community asset. My only gripes: where the yoga classes at? And the fact the facility is closed due to stupid Redskins games. read more

I attended an AAU sponsored track meet at this facility with my son this past weekend and my backpack and coat were stolen from the venue out of the stands. When speaking with several other patrons, it was reasonable to assume that a member of the overnight staff would've had to have seen something! But instead failed to act in turning in the bag and coat ultimately keeping the items for themselves! Be very mindful of what you bring into this facility because if something is taken or lost you will have MINIMAL staff assistance in helping locate your things. I will not attend anything in this facility AGAIN. read more

I signed my children up for homeschool gymnastics and was disappointed. The instructors' level of engagement was low and they seemed to find the class a chore, often beginning late and ending early, eating during classtime, and playing music that seemed to be more for their personal entertainment than for the good of the students. I called with my concerns, leaving a voicemail for a manager. I received a call back which promised an intervention. In the immediate aftermath, there was moderate improvement, but within a short period of time, the same problems resurfaced. Things may have improved. I pray that is the case. I would not recommend the homeschool gymnastics class to anyone. read more

Not a bad gym. I've lost a lot if weight here. A few negatives parking at times is hard because of the different events they have here. Members should get first dibs on parking spots.
