We stayed in a two bedroom furnished apartment and it was great. Very spacious and fully air conditioned with awesome ocean views. All apartments have ocean views and multiple balconies. We'll definitely be back. read more

Komune Resort

There was a cockroach that came in my room, but the staff took care of it. They said that they try to control that by having people keep food out of their rooms. Pool area was pretty nice and the location is right across the street from the beach and near a lot of shops and restaurants!

Staying here you are perfectly located to take full advantage of all the attractions in town. Every room has a view of the beach and the staff is very attentive. Every weekend there is a party and a live DJ in the bar and pool areas. During the week it is pretty mellow and more suited to family time. The hotel is in pretty good shape but is a bit worn. The Mexican food from the Restauraunt is delicious and plenty. I had the chicken tacos last night and they were fantastic. Everybody was raving about their dinners. They tend to the pool and pool area so the pool is very clean and area tidy. I recommend staying at Komune.

I guess it was a good thing that I walked through the sports bar to the other part of the pub because if I hadn't I probably would have completely written it off. It turned out that the dining area was actually quite nice, and they even had a better selection of beers than they did in the sports bar. Sure, it isn't one of those pubs that really sit up there, but it is still quite a nice pub.

The accommodation is the old " run down the hall to the bathroom" but for the cost and the convenience of opposite a beach who could ask for more. The amenities blocks on each floor (male & female) have separate toilet stalls (5) shower stalls (6) and 2 full size bath stalls. The bedrooms are a fair size with most having a balcony. Each room has a flat screen tv, an outlet for USB charged devices and a number of power points. The bed is cosy too. There are new fittings for the showers and taps but the old look of tiled floors and big cubicles is excellent. The guest laundry has a coin operated washing machine and dryer. Also I found the iron...thank God...I can't handle another day without ironed clothes. There is a common room too. In this room are comfortable lounges, complimentary tea/ coffee/ hot chocolate available. There is spring water on tap and a large fridge to put items in if you are staying a few days. The restaurant is good pub food. There is quite a range and there are daily specials. Some of the locals know about the deals with shopper dockets. Apparently this place is a hive of activity at lunchtime with the specials happening. I was here for the evening meal and with a group and we got complimentary garlic bread with our meals. Thank you Jetstar for recommending this place. This hotel was with a package deal and I haven't looked back.

Well, if this place is budget then I certainly want to find similar options elsewhere. It was great, and not only that but it has pretty much all the facilities that you could expect from the place - pool, spa, restaurant, laundromat, and some quite large play areas as well. The other thing was that my room was huge, and I mean huge. I thought I would be paying through the nose for something like this, but I didn't have to pay one cent more. Sure, it was probably because it was off season, but a part of me felt that there was not such thing as off season when it came to the Gold Coast.

Mantra Coolangatta Beach
Got a chance to stay here on my last surf trip to Coolangatta. At the time, I was given an…read moreexcellent rate for a studio room by receiving a discount for being one of the over 2100 victims involved in a then-recent accommodation company's bankruptcy on the Gold Coast. The Mantra and Breakfree properties were kind enough to offer a discount on bookings, as many people had to wind up rebooking accommodations as a result of this incident. This was much appreciated! As I arrived at the property at around 11:30 a.m., my studio room was not yet ready. The reception staff was very kind and allowed me to store my luggage until check-in. I could tell right off that this property stays very busy, which is never a bad sign. It was great to be able to explore the area until later on in the afternoon. The Mantra is in a perfect location right on the Marine Parade, centrally located to just about everything. Not to mention some of the best surf breaks in the world! Everything in the studio room, which turned out to be room 208, was in excellent working condition with no excessive wear. I did have some trouble with the wireless internet connection after I had prepaid for three days, but I cannot fault the Mantra for this, as the internet company is separate. Turns out I was able to get a partial refund with no problems. It seems like it took the hot water about two seconds longer to get hot in comparison to some of the other properties I had stayed at on this holiday, but it wasn't a big concern. Some of the amenities in the room included a powerful air conditioning/heating unit, fully-stocked kitchenette with refrigerator, microwave, utensils, and just about everything one would need for a holiday. Ample closet space, queen size bed, a medium-sized balcony overlooking the courtyard (unfortunately all of the one bedroom ocean view apartments stayed constantly booked up until my arrival, but I did try!), a small ceiling-mounted television set, and a bathroom with a washer and dryer. The swimming pool, spa and barbecue areas were very modern and well-maintained. I'd definitely stay at the Mantra Coolangatta Beach again. My only regret was not being able to find a vacant ocean view unit, but I'll definitely be back. Great staff, good waves, and an overall fun area.
