My God, what a travesty. Such a shame, because the other location for Saittavini on Luegallee is by far one my favorite restaurants here in Dusseldorf-- and I thought cool, I should try this place too...boy, was I wrong. The service here was incredibly horrible (except the guy at the bar who realized I've been waiting for 30+ mins to be seated for my reservation... at this point, he tried to get someone to help me then eventually offered me wine).
When you come in, you literally come in to see a bar that's loud, and nobody waiting to seat you (the reservation area was shoved in the corner somewhere on the far right with nobody there to help...I finally flagged some dude I had to walk around following... who:
a. Didn't even TRY to help me...and ignored me for about 15 mins. (btw we were seated 40 mins after our reservation) I honestly wanted to leave, but didn't want to be rude to my guest.
b. Between those times, everyone who worked there looked incredibly busy-- maybe they were short handed that night, but I've been to similar "caliber" (almost embarrassing to compare this to any of them, honestly) of restaurants before and they were completely fine no matter how busy they were.
c. One star because the food actually wasn't terrible and the wine selection wasn't bad either except the first time it was brought out, there was an old cork taste in the wine - but that's it.
Something was seriously wrong here. Stick to the other Saittavini on Luegalle, food is much better, wholesome service, wonderful ambience, and great wine recommendations. read more
