The bar tenders were friendly, drinks were decently priced, bathrooms were clean and it was my bday at midnight and the bar tender wished me a happy bday and either she or someone bought me a shot! I go to clubs because my friends go but I prefer bars yet I don't like to just stand around, I like to dance. I don't need a designated dance floor but the Tavern was a perfect combination of all of this. The Dj this past Friday was also fantastic playing all of the greatest hits! I come to the UK every few years, I'd love to live in London so hopefully I'll be back soon and make it back into the tavern!

From the exterior it feels like it should be sporting some shisha pipes and cushions. There's some good outdoor seating, half covered by canvas for those wetter but warmer days and a good space inside. This bar looks good, clean, trendy for the area yet comfortable and intimate. The bar has a good selection, Moretti by the bottle. It's main draw is its cocktail menu. Expertly tailored and exquisitely executed drinks. No doubt the bar staff are a talented lot. However, it's a place a tad on the pricey side and doesn't have many more draws. When I think night out for cocktails, I don't think Ealing. The food, by the look of the Menu looks rather nice. A good Meze selection which was rather large in portion size., however the more ambitious meals fall through. A friend had something chicken-y and it looked (and apparently tasted) foul, bit of a waste of £11. Although it's nice enough, it's just that little bit out of the way and a little bit meh to draw me back on a regular basis. However good for groups I think, and always better than it's neighbour, Wetherspoons. No contest there.

For the Friday evening Cabaret you have to book ahead which only cost £5 up to the last 2 weeks before which is when it goes up to £8 and you get to watch some weird and wonderful cabaret acts during the course of the evening. As far as the acts were concerned it was a bit hit and miss and I was expecting a few more. We had a hula hooper and a contortionist which was insane to watch!! An aerial hoop act which was impressive but quite short, a juggler who probably didn't need to be there and the finale .... Rayguns Look Real Enough who were a comedy music mashup duo who were fabulous!! Highlight of the evening! As a while though I think the acts were a but hit and miss and unfortunately the compere wasn't going down too well either!! Oh well!! But the evening was incredibly fun and once they cleared away the stage it turned into a dance floor and the DJ played an array of hits from 50's through to today with a lot of emphasis on 80's and 90's hits which were great to sing and dance along to. Before the show started we did have a table so we could eat food and there was your usual selection of burgers and salads etc. I went for the veggie falafel burger and to be honest it was extremely bland and needed a hell of a lot more tzatiki and condiments to improve it's flavour! It's great that I was subjected to the usual fried vegetable burger and there was a mushroom risotto on the menu but the burger definitely needed more flavour. It was a bit more like mushed falafel and falafel needs to be a little more grainy I think!! The chips were good though, hand cut, crispy edges and soft in the middle - mmm!! As for drinks they do have a selection of ales on tap, some local, a porter and a stout that were exciting some and all the other usual things a pub can offer. Price wise I think it was pretty reasonable. All in all we did have a great evening and I probably would go again. The place is new so it is probably still getting it's sea legs a little but do pop down for an alternative evening of circus acts and then fun music to dance the night away to - we stayed so late it was a night bus home!! Always a good sign!! Xyz

Once inside you are in pub heaven with a traditional looking lounge at the front, you almost walk into the bands as you enter the pub but there's plenty of seating to enjoy the music from a safe distance too. You pass through another section before the place opens up to the main bar at the back. It has quite a continental feel to it, and I can't believe I didn't immediately spot the massive vats at the back - I was too busy admiring the statues on the bar. And it's difficult not to be tempted by the selection of beers when in a brewery and I didn't regret my choice of Achtung. They also serve food and while the main menu is limited to sausage rolls and pies you can also order pizza or sushi which is delivered directly to your table by local takeaways. I'll definitely be back, a real gem.

Their Early Doors IPA was always likely to be my favourite, but I also enjoyed Dark Matter, 2 O'clock Ordinary and their Weissbier called Achtung! Good brewery. This meant we could both have a snack of our choice and also share some chips. I enjoyed the luxury fish fingers! (No Captain Birdseye here!)

We shared a lovely bottle of wine outside on the terrace (had to sit on the wall though as all the tables were full) with amazing views of the river and Hammersmith Bridge. Back inside for dinner, which we shared: a large mezze platter and some mushroom bruschetta, both of which were delicious and just enough. The cinema itself is what every cinema should be: small and dark, with the seats on an incline so everyone can see. They showed the previews and ads WAY before the start time (PERFECT!!), even drew the curtains in between the previews and the film itself (DRAMATIC!!). Riverside has much more to offer than just a restaurant and a cinema... it also shows stand-up comedy, has a fully functioning tv studio where they film live shows, a theatre for live music, and art exhibitions. A wonderful space with quality at every turn.

I like the laid-back cool of the place. There's lots of well-worn wood on floors and walls, and disparate types of rustic, comfy furniture. There's a number of beers on tap, and often some interesting imports (they carried Sleeman's, a Canadian beer, for a while, and always have some Belgian fruit beers). Their wine list is extensive. They also have some decent wines on tap if you're not too snooty. The food here is really good, and I've had everything from bar snacks to brunch to full meals. Quite a few vegetarian options. I'll admit that I did have one bad dining experience here where my burger took forever and had to be sent back once it came, but the rest of the time it's been good. There are three rooms, all similar in vibe and furnishings. They've got a covered outdoor area in the alley beside the pub. There's no greenery, just picnic benches, but they run a barbeque out there in the summer. I've come to this pub on my own a couple of times when I'm been free during weekdays: it's a good place to have a drink and read a book, do a bit of work, or people-watch passers-by on the Broadway during the day. On weekend evenings a DJ spins up in the front room, and the place can get very busy at those times. One criticism is that they sometimes don't seem to have enough bar staff on to handle the impressive crowds they draw, and getting served can take a while. I think it's a 21-and-over pub.

Nowadays we appreciate and build those bikes for the nostalgia and esthetic they bring to the table. The same can be said about Ace, it doesn't forget where it came from. The establishment feels as close as it would have back when it was originally operating. There's even a juke box in there (not sure if it works), but I doubt people still place bets if you can get to the next café before the song is over playing hahaha. The food is pretty decent, but I can only attest to the "quick bites" portion of the menu since I wasn't too hungry. I ordered the tuna sandwich with an iced coffee. They don't go well together, but I had to have coffee there! How can I go to ace café and not drink any of their coffee?! That's like saying you went to San Francisco and didn't visit the golden gate bridge. People were very kind and fun to converse with. No matter where you are the biker community is always friendly and that's what I can say about this place and their customers. They also host bike nights and events. I only wish that I could attend with a bike, but since they're stuck in the states I don't imagine that will happen any time soon. Ultimately I'm extremely happy I was able to go to the place that started café racers because those bikes are what got me into riding in the first place.
