Louis was polite, conscientious and punctual, I can recommend him. On the second piece of work Louis carried out at my property, he and his colleague John arranged for scaffolding to be set-up and carried out the removal of an old chimney stack at the back of the property, taking the brick down to below roof level, installing felt and new tiles over the opening and finishing with a tile vent. They carried out the job swiftly, with good humour and tidied away any rubbish. A good job. well done. A third visit from Louis was equally high quality, he visited to doublecheck and investigate a recurring damp issue on a chimney stack, took time to consider all the possibilities. I found Tony's on the internet, called to explain the situation and within 3 hours, Tony arrived with ladders to reach the guttering at 30 feet high; Tony cleared the gutters and hoppers and said that gutter was sloping backwards; he removed & realigned that gutter and placed new brackets. He could have just cleaned the small amount of debris and left it misaligned, but he was very professional and kind and repaired the slope for the same price quoted which for over 2 hours work, was admirable and kind. I had a very bad experience with Peter and HGS. HGS came out…read moreto fix a leak around my chimney that was causing my ceiling to be damp. Despite original reassurances that what he was doing would fix my issue, it did not. I had to get Peter back out a number of times (and it was difficult to get him to commit to dates to come back). The issue was never resolved, I still have a very damp ceiling and after the third time, Peter refused to come out again, saying that he'd done enough. I'm £450 out of pocket and now have to pay for the same job again with someone who can hopefully fix this issue. He did offer me a fraction of the cost back as a gesture of goodwill, but considering the small amount offered, I did not accept that offer. Expensive, poor quality of work and disappointing customer service - I would not recommend this business.
