Had a washing machine that I thought was leaking. Warranty company chose ProtecRepair.biz to come diagnose. My tech, Dean, was GREAT. We determined it wasn't the washer (it was a drain hose issue). But after he left the washer wouldn't work at all. I panicked a bit and called in and texted asking them to send him back. The man I got on the phone in the office was a D-bag! Instead of saying "He's already on another job and let me see if I can help" he replied with "He's already in Canton, I can't just send him back. He's working on a $15,000 appliance job. He's an expert on those machines. He'll have to call you" It wasn't only WHAT he said, but HOW he said it. Super dismissive. Well thanks for letting me know I'm not important because my washer wasn't worth $15,000. Dean called me back and explained that I had to unplug and reset the controls and everything was fine. Why couldn't the guy on the phone just say "He's at another site, but I will find out what's wrong and call you right back or send someone else" Dean you were great, your manager....not so much. read more

Dropped off a Vintage Receiver for a repair and it took like 2 months. When I went to pick it up it was missing a knob. Very disappointed in service here, we had a claim through lowes, I got to choose a repair place picked you guys I scheduled a repair and got a text saying ignore it your ordering parts for a problem you had know clue was wrong with it. Waited almost 3 weeks before I reached out to a oh the part just came in we have a guy tomorrow. Guy comes out and does nothing , nothing at all but says you'll need a new ui didnt pull it out didnt check anything said ill order more parts. We'll waited again another guy comes out and finally pulls dishwasher out and he goes man its worse then said, you need this this and this nothing I can do today at all. He asked did the last guy fo anything I said nope made a call and left. Horrible way to do business. If you get a option to pick a repair place DO NOT pick these guys at all. The lid on my stackable washer and dryer was locked! I was referred to Pro-Tec through GE website and my washer and dryer was under warranty! The tech (Mike L) showed up on time and was very courteous! He explained and fixed the issue! He even helped me push the washer and dryer back into place! Do not use these people ever. You might as well get a new appliance. They take your money and don't fix the issue. Then have the audacity to be completely rude and unprofessional. The tech just picked up his bag and left. That was his second time at my house to fix my fridge/freezer. The day before they got $346 dollars to "fix" the issue and it did not even come close to fixing the issue. Called them to come out again and told them the compressor is under a home warranty and would need approval before the actual work is done, ok, fine. I understand there is a process and what it is. The tech would not give our warranty company the time of day. He grumbled as he was walking out the door how he wasted his time....um, no, sir, you wasted our time and stole our money and it's still not fixed. We told the "manager" we wanted a different tech and was basically told that Dean was the only one in NEO. I call BS and told the manager that. The manager gave excuses about how many jobs they have a day. He did somewhat apologize but then said oh Dean never gets complaints. That's not an actual apology on how awful he behaved. You're a grown man, act like one. The tech could have given the warranty company 30 seconds and if they were asking questions he didn't have an answer for we would have told the warranty company that. Apparently the manager knows all the questions the warranty company is going to ask before they ask them and will not allow the tech to talk to the warranty company. They said they would send us the estimate and still have not and I doubt they will. There is more but I will be done and leave you with....DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. A tech arrived to service refrigerator at my home. I happened to see the Protec vehicle in my driveway. I get my dogs in their crate and go downstairs to open the door. The Protec guy is backing out of my driveway, we make eye contact and I wave. He drives away as I am standing with my front door wide open. I immediately call the number for Protec hoping I can straighten this out and get the tech that was JUST in my driveway. I explain the situation to "Dan" and he tells me there is no way that happened. Dan then asked "Well what vehicle was in your driveway then?" It was a Protec vehicle with the company name all over it. Dan then said: "That a tech would never just leave IF I opened the door." I tell him again that is what happened. I even gave him a description of what the tech looked like (long dark hair up in a messy bun.) Dan laughed at me and told me he highly doubts that is what the tech looked like. As if it were to be impossible the guy had long hair in a bun. He continued to tell me I was not telling the truth. He then spoke to his tech that arrived at my house. Dan said the tech told him he knocked on the door and nobody ever answered. He said I was accusing his tech of lying and if the tech said thats what happened then that is what happened. That a tech would not lie because they would be losing money. I then asked him, so are you accusing me of lying and making all of this up? Dans reply "Well you are accusing my tech of lying!" I then asked to speak to someone else. He then asked me what I wanted and was reluctant to hand me off to someone else. He handed me off to a "General Manager" who started the conversation with "Yeah so I overheard your conversation with Dan" and basically told me the same thing. They were both the rudest, most arrogant, and insulting people I have ever done business with to date. Zero, and I mean zero, customer service. Purchased a Frigidaire dishwasher on Jan. 13, 2023 from Sears online, with installation. The appliance was installed perfectly on Jan. 18th, but the dishwasher didn't work. After many, many calls, I ended up having to have a repair person come out from Frigidaire, specifically from Pro Tec, 330-923-3191. "Steve" came out today, did absolutely nothing, got upset at my assertive questions about obtaining a new dishwasher, and took his tools (that he to go back to his truck to get), and left, although he tried to block my closing the door behind him. To the point I had to say, "Get out of my house, white man." His supervisor, "Jim", reportedly the owner of the company, put a "do not service" on my account, told me no one was coming back, and now I can't get anyone on the phone. I've contacted other notifications sources, because every customer has the right to expect that a company will abide by its own warranty agreement. read more

Great service on my LG refrigerator. Installed new compressor. But freezer was not as cold as should be. Called them and they were going to come out without service charge because the scheduled service was within their warranty for initial replacement part. In the interim, my husband cleaned the coils. Now refrigerator and freezer are working like they should. But kinds difficult to get a hold of over the phone as I needed to cancel service scheduled for Monday. They do not take phone messages. I went here to drop off a subwoofer as the warranty gave this place as the closest place to me. At first they seemed helpful in trying to get my subwoofer back in a timely manner however it has now been 3 months and I still have not received it. Then every time I call (usually towards the end of the week) I find out that the man that works on electronics, Jim, is out of town with no new information on when I will receive my unit. I'm based in Pittsburgh but got stuck using this repair service due to a Home Depot warranty I purchased... at first I was excited to work with this company because they happen to be based in my hometown.. however they did not ever make the repair. Said they would order the new part and we never heard from them again... until we received an automated text that the service was complete. I tried calling during business hours and received a recording that notifed me that even tho I was indeed calling during their normal business hours, they were only making outgoing calls at this time. Excuse me what???? I can't call, I can't talk to a human, I can't leave a voicemail to have someone call me back??? Took 3 visits to repair our Stove for something that should have been repaired on the first trip. Trip one: Broiler Ignitor was replaced on accident thinking this was the oven ignitor (we had no issues with broiler) Trip two: PCB board was ordered and replaced (working broiler ignitor was moved to oven ignitor) So now oven worked but no Broiler) Trip three: Broiler ignitor was ordered and replaced, again! Oven door was not placed back on correctly on the 3rd visit, causing heat to escape and heat up my wooden cabinet (no response from company to resolve, so I was forced to fix the door myself) see picture Lucky this was all under warranty, but Samsung was charged for an extra $250 for a PCB board and ignitor that we're never needed had the tech replaced the correct ignitor on the first trip! read more

Believe the reviews, the customer service sucks. After a warranty call about my TV the tech checked the TV found what he thought might be a problem with one of the settings. Worked fine for a few days and again started having problems . Though I was told if I had any other problems to call them. When I did I was told I had to call to LG to get a new work order they refused to listen to my story because when I called I asked for the tech about a problem. But I didn't say it was a issue with TV. After trying to talk resonably I received no satisfaction and has to call the seller ( Costco) to start the process again. I took in a vintage reel-to-reel tape recorder to be refurbed. ProTec was supposed to call me with an estimate. They didn't. I waited 28 days and called them. They told me it was ready. Fortunately, the bill was within my expectations. However, when I brought the unit home and opened it up, the selector knob was missing. They tried to tell me it came in like that. I know it was in there when I brought it in. I had to pay extra to locate a similar knob online. Anyone who goes to ProTech for electronic or appliance service should photograph anything they're bringing in before hand. read more

I have used this Protech for 6 yrs now. They are reasonably priced but with 5 STAR SERVICE. The customers are treated as if you matter the most. They have ordered parts required for my 63" TV lamp, which in turn, as made it last for 6 yrs now and going strong. I have referred many friends and family over the last 6 yrs. They have also repaired a washer part in home furthermore, reasonably priced. I wouldn't think of going anywhere else. read more

Took my tv in for repair. After a couple of weeks they got the part to come in. Turns out it was a defective one, and then part was on national back order. Once it was finally fixed they called and said they were sorry for the wait, and I could come pick it up a soon as I could. The next day they called, and said I have a week to pick it up or they were gonna put it up for sale. Upon picking it up I didn't receive back the original power cord. And wasn't even offered an apology or any kind of discount for them having it for so long. Well that same tv just broke again. Not even three months later. I was very impressed with Mike L. He came out and give me and my husband a diagnosis on our washer which is no longer being manufactured. It took 2+ weeks for the part that was needed arrive. Once it did arrive another serviceman came out with the wrong part, he spent about 4hrs trying to fix my washer before he rigged it up to work but it failed.I called back to complain and later that same day Mike L. was back at my house smiling, within minutes Mike L. fixed my washer and made it as good as it was on the day that we purchased it. I don't feel the need to ever leave reviews, however my experience with the company was so bad that if I could give it 0 stars I would. They came out and misdiagnosed the issue with our ice maker, and claimed we needed a new one. THEY NEVER TESTED THE ICE MAKER. It never started making ice, and they came out to check it again. The technician had not correctly turned the ice maker on so it didn't work. It still didn't make ice. Another technician came and checked and the real reason it didn't work was because the water line coming into it was frozen. The refunded the new ice maker but still uninstalled it, although I would like to point out they had already thrown our other perfectly good ice maker away. They then lied to us on the phone and said our original ice maker never worked even though the tech said otherwise. We now have no ice maker and they also didn't refund us the diagnosis fee which was $133.43. I guess it was more of a misdiagnosis fee considering they didn't even figure our issue out. DON'T HIRE THEM. You'll waste your money on terrible customer service and incompetent repair technicians. *I would like to note that there was one positive. The final technician who came to our home named Tim was courteous, helpful, and sympathetic toward our situation.* read more

Protec Repair was sent by my home warranty company to repair my oven. They came out with in the time frame that was provided. There was a small mix up when the approval to move forward was not requested right when the first service visit was made. They answered the phone when I called and answered questions when I had them. When the parts arrived the tech came out and made the repairs in a timely manner. So overall I would say they did a good job. I know that making repairs through a home warranty company are not as easy as customer pay. If they had moved a little quicker they would have gotten 4 stars. read more

The "technicians" seem totally incapable of repairing anything. Every excuse in the book of why it was my fault. Dishwasher in stalled improperly? Dishwasher was under extended warranty. It was 6 years old and had never been repaired in the past. Animal fat in the soap, clogging the hoses. Hmmm, I do not use any products with any animal fat, and never have. Wrong excuse, again. I contacted the BBB who has an "A" rating for this company. The rating is obviously something which destroys the credibility of the BBB Akron component. Another disservice. Company management are unresponsive to service issues. Contacted LG, who sold me the extended warranty and asked for a new company. They stated they did not have any other companies in the area. I wish I could give negative stars. Protech is sent by LG to repair appliances under warrantee and they should have checked these guys out better. "unprofessional" is the first word that comes to mind. Then," rude" and "dishonest" When I was told I had to prove my appliance was under warrantee by faxing or emailing my receipt before they would come even though I told them it was only 3 weeks old, and the purchase date had been verified by LG , AND LG had given them the referral. "Some people lie" was her reason. I did do this immediately, but the day before my appointment I received no less than 4 messages on my voice mail telling me that no one would come if I didn't send my receipt. The young man who came, was unprofessional in appearance and actions.He did not offer to remove or cover his shoes even though it was muddy out. He came alone for an appliance repair that required moving a heavy stove . When I asked him how he was going to move it by himself he said it was the customers responsibility to have it moved so he could work on it. He was there for at least 20 minutes before he realized that the part he brought was the wrong one. He then had a very loud conversation on his cell phone with someone at his shop, blaming someone there for giving him the wrong part. During the next few days I received several calls form him and another woman at their office conflicting each other. One said they didn't have (never had) my part. Then one saying it came in, then another that it was not in and was on back order for 2 MONTHS. I was also told that since they were the only certified repair agent for LG in the area there was nothing I could do but wait. This was not true. I called a repair service that I had used a couple years before for another appliance repair, and they were able to get my stove repaired under warrantee with just a phone call to LG form my kitchen! He was told that he would have the part in a few days, and it was not and never had been on back order. read more

Had them come out to fix my dishwasher. It had been in the house for the two years I lived there and I believe for another three years when it was originally installed. Out of nowhere one day the dishes started coming out soaking wet covered in soap. We used our home warranty and ProtecRepair came out to fix it which required a $125 deductible. The tech immediately diagnosed it as the water line was hooked up to the cold instead of the hot. I agree with that but, things shouldn't have changed over night. I ran the dishwasher cycle after with the heating element on high. After it finished, the heating coil was ice cold. I reached out again and was told that wasn't how you test it and there wasn't an issue with it. read more

I purchased a washer and dryer from Lowes that is under warranty. The door latch spring breaks about once a year and needs to be replaced. I called Lowes to schedule an appointment because the units are still under warranty and Lowes set up the appointment with Pro-Tech Repair out of Cuyahoga Falls Ohio. The Pro-Tech technician, Dan, called today and was rude, he would not give me the opportunity to say anything, he just said I didn't have an appointment and they would not set up an appointment until I sent them pictures of the units and the latch that is broken. He never gave me a way to send in the pictures, he just kept speaking over me and then he hung up the phone. When I called back in to find out what was going on, Sonya answered the phone and transferred me to Jason, who said he was the manager. He got on the phone and said that I was rude to Dan and that I had called Dan a stupid moron (language I never used) and he said that I was placed on their do not service list and that I would have to call Lowes and request service from someone else. I can not believe this even happened. Neither Dan nor Jason would not give me the opportunity to say anything. I was the one treated rudely. I caution anyone using this service. read more
