First I want to start the review by saying that if you have a Lowes /Assurant protection plan on an appliance and they assign Pro Tech for the repair, immediately call Lowes / assurant and firmly demand they find another repair place! They will accomodate this request. We had Gerald as our " tech". He came into our home with an extremely unfriendly / rude manner. He barely could make the effort to listen to what was wrong with the range. There was no response back when talking to him. He appeared mad that he even had to be at our house. He tinkered around for ages in silence, randomly pushed his iPad at me to connect him to our wifi. What?! Couldn't remember my password, he was visibly annoyed. I finally found it and connected him. No thanks or acknowledgement. Very unprofessional! Then towards the end of the service call he demanded that I get my manual out for the range so I could recalibrate the temp myself !!!!!! Who keeps their manual handy and why was he not doing this? This is his job. He said he had no idea which way he turned the adjustment, he said it would be up to me to figure out how to calibrate my oven!!!! I informed him that I would not be searching for the manual as I had no idea where the manual was and I was never informed ahead of time that I would need it. I told him to calibrate it himself as that was his job as a repair guy. He got hostile and went to the stove to calibrate the temperature which now is completely off even worse and I cannot use the oven now at all! I feel like in his irritation at actually doing his job that he made it inoperable on purpose! He proceeded to argue and mansplain to me and my husband about the warranty. All his information was incorrect. I felt very uncomfortable having this person in my house and the next day called Pro Tech to request a new " tech" when the parts arrived. The OWNER argued with me and refused to help in any capacity. Very bad business practice. I have since called Lowes/ Assurant and reported the business and sent them screenshots of all the 1 star reviews. They are flagging the business. We live up in Hailey so this Gerald person is supposedly the only "tech" that comes to our area so be warned Valley People. He is rude, unprofessional, creepy , abrasive, talks very badly to women and you will want him out of your house immediately! He also has a very ANNOYING habit of clicking his pen NON STOP the entire time so you feel like you are going insane. If ZERO stars was an option, this is how they would rate! 1 -star is way too generous. I wish I had read the reviews before having this person come out. read more

Yeah, I have to agree with the other reviewers. This company did warranty work on a refrigerator about three years ago. Thought I'd give them a chance on a Ice maker issue. The guy comes in, takes a look at it, and almost immediately starts looking online for a new ice maker. He had to log on to my Wi-Fi to tell me it'd be $400+. Little to no troubleshooting. No personality and customer service acumen. $95 to tell me something I already knew. Like an auto-shop where they just start replacing parts. Many of these services are in business because of the shortage in labor. I suspect this one will be weeded out when times get tough. I did not have the ice maker replaced by Protech, and will not use them again. read more

I waited two weeks to have my dishwasher repaired. This older man shows up ,he smelled aweful like cockroaches. He laid on my kitchen floor for 5 min,ran the dishwasher and told me there are no leaks. He said that will be $95.00 . Then he told me you have a leak somewhere but that is not my problem. I told him I would give him $40. For 5min work he said no it is $95 . He then said You were informed of the rate for service calls. I told him I was not informed of this. But if that was the case, I asked him to take the dishwasher out, because clearly there is an issue of a leak underneath, maybe a hose or a drain mechanism. He said that is not his job. I told him to leave. I then called the company and had to leave a voice mail,just as I did when I called for service. Who is running this company? And who hired this incompetent man that showed up to my house. Where is your professionalism? I apparently have to rate you with 1 star but clearly this company does not deserve any I am also filing a complaint withe BBB. read more

I had great service from these guys. They came into my home while I was at work, installed a range and over-the-range microwave. The install was done professionally. Everything was left clean and locked up when they left. I will most certainly call again for their services in the future. read more

I hate that I even have to give this company even 1 star in order to leave a review. DO NOT use them. NEVER use them. DO NOT EVEN, EVER CONSIDER using them. There are other companies with actual knowledge of their trade. The technician was simply hired to hook up a piece of equipment but ended up ruining it completely. 3 months later I am still dealing with warranty issues from the equipment company. Accidents happen for sure but the HORRIBLE customer service and the absolute laziness to make things right speaks volumes. I still, currently have an unpaid bill with this company because I refuse to pay for someone to come out and break my things. read more

Pro-tech technicians are incompetent and shouldn't be allowed in your house. My mother-in-law's wash machine quit working over a month ago. Pro-Tech came out and diagnosed the problem as the computer/mother board. Ordered the part and we waited. After a few weeks we called to see what was going on, at which point Pro-Tech realized the part was on back order. So THEN they decided to order directly from LG. Part came in, technician came out and installed...problem not solved. Oh! It must be the OTHER circuit board! Claims the technician. So yet another part ordered and we wait again. Part comes in, they come out to install and... SHOCKER! Wash machine still doesn't work. Now they claim it must be the motor. But this time they'll sell us the part at their cost. So far we have $300 into a two year old wash machine that still isn't working. We don't trust that these technicians know anything and just have a list of parts they work their way down. Save your money and either call someone else or just buy a new machine. It'll be cheaper in the long run. read more

The new owners are unscrupulous! We know someone who used to work there, and she told us that we must be very clear before hand to give them the model number and make before they come out, to make sure the stove is still in production and they still have the option for parts, and we did. We had proof as the man showed up at our door with a preprinted form with the model and make on it. Once there he never even looked at our stove, he just got on his computer looked up the information we had given them several days previously and told us that the stove was outdated and he could not get the parts. He charged us 90$. We found out yesterday that this company did this exact same thing to another elder woman we know in Buhl as well, and I'm sure we will find many many more as we keep asking around. Protecks excuse for not refunding our $ was because "the woman who supposedly took my information by phone two days previous no longer works there" but the exact information was typed on his repair slip so she obviously wrote it down correctly....weather she works there any longer or not. My mother lives on $700.00 per month and she paid them because she is a n elderly widow and did not know better, but when I explained to them what hapspened I was left with ... "there's no way you will ever get your $ back." ... Coincidentally the other lady in Buhl who had the EXACT same thing happen to her, is also like my mother...and elder widow. These people are taking advantage in the worst way. We would like to file a lawsuit aginst these people. Please contact us if this has happened to you as well because we have two people so far interested. We tried to talk to them, they refuse to return our calls or give us any information such as even the owners name etc. since the new recent ownership these people have become extremely unscrupulous. I ordered a Dishwasher from Lowe's in Twin Falls with installation. Apparently Pro-tech does their installations. When I placed the order I was assured I would hear from the installer with in 24 hours and 48 at the max. 78 hours later (not including the intervening weekend) I heard. They would come 8 days later. OK. On the morning of the installation I heard from the tech that he would arrive between 1 and 2 PM. At 2:15 I had a voicemail that he had to reshuffle his schedule and would be at my home between 3 and 3:30. I called at 2:45, it was clear he wasn't going to make it that day but he would be back in week and could do the installation then. I called their office and talked to Chris, apparently a supervisor, and explained the circumstances. I don't think he cared. if they don't, neither did I. I canceled the order and the installation. read more

The only thing Protech is a pro at is charging me $90 to tell me my dryer is broken. There are cheaper businesses in town that don't screw the customer like this. If I could give less than one star I would. I would not recommend this business to my worst enemy. read more

If I could give them 0 stars I would. For the past three weeks in a row, the technician has been at my house replacing parts to my dishwasher; a pump and a hose. When he left last Friday he said it was totally fixed. However, it immediately became evident that it was still not working. I called today (Tuesday) to let them know that after doing some troubleshooting online that I would need my tech's services again. I was told that my tech was already overbooked for this week and my situation would not be resolved until 9-10 days from today. My guess is that if I actually continued down this path with this inferior service that my tech would arrive next week to tell me he needs to order a new temperature gauge or whatever the Internet has diagnosed and that I would have to wait another week for the part. That would put me at 5 weeks without a dishwasher and several hundred dollars out of pocket. Do yourself a favor and call a different company! The owner of this company does not care about customer service at all! read more
