I am a chocolate fanatic and i always eat too much bûche lol!! I am so doomed now that i live about 3 minutes (25 minutes walk) away from la Cabosse d'Or. Their pastries, ice cream, gelato, truffles and all chocolate related items are quite delicious! If you want, you can also enjoy dessert with a coffee or even a hot chocolate in their café side. During summertime, they have a terrace and a mini-put for you to enjoy. There is also a MINI museum that you can visit for free. But be warned when i say mini because it really is. Fantastic!

I had smoked salmon with a bagel and the plate was pretty plain and unexciting. Cream cheese came in a small cup and not on the bagel so by the time you get the plate and put it on your bagel it's cold so not that great. We went on a sunny but snowy day early on a Saturday morning and were surprised to see it was already open! Inside it is super cosy and warm, with the chocolate boutique separate from the cafe area. We discovered that they are famous for their caramel but unfortunately, did not get a chance to try them (hopefully going back especially for this next time). As it was quite early for me, I just had a hot chocolate (which by the way, was one of the BEST hot chocs I have had) made with pure melted chocolate and topped with marshmallows. I devoured this whilst gazing out into the brightly-lit mountainous landscape - it honestly felt as if I was at a skiing lodge. The waitress was very friendly and helpful and the other customers all seemed to be having full breakfasts which looked so good! The place seems to be very popular with the locals as it began to get full whilst we were about to leave. Overall, great little find and cannot wait to be back to sample some more!!

Clean, well decorated and filled with chocolate goodies! Not only that they serve ice cream, they also sell chocolates, truffles and anything chocolate related. On to the ice cream. Like mentioned, it's a soft serve ice cream. You have a choice of 4 flavours: vanilla, chocolate, orange and maple syrup. But wait...they have 12 different types of chocolate dips for you to choose from. TWELVE!!! But first, you need to chose the size of your cone. I got the baby cone, my husband got the small and my in-laws got the medium. Portions are huge! The small size was a big enough size for Felix. His parents didn't even finish theirs. I got the orange ice cream covered in 75% dark chocolate. Out. Of. This. World! I can't wait to try other combinations of flavours. They also have an array of gelato flavours as well. My favorite chocolates are their dark chocolate caramel barrels, the chocolate outer layer is excellent quality and very thin so that there is a lot of caramel filling. Their store is pretty large, they sell special chocolate creations for all occasions, they make custom cakes by order only and they also sell maltitol (sugar free) chocolates, which are also very good. In the summer Heyez also makes several chocolate ice cream creations. I've tried also of chocolate shops in Montreal but Heyez remains my favorite.
