Reimburse $150.00 for labor when going rate is $200-$275 where i live. They low ball all aftermarket parts. Not even worth a one star rating. I have been in the automotive industry for 30 plus years. Both as a parts specialist and technician. The service center I used is a local Ford dealership service center. I know the people in this shop, both professionally and outside the buisness. I trust them and they show me everything firsthand that is wrong. My vehicle is a 2010 Ford F150. It is excellently maintained with only 155,000 miles. All of this is verifyable with carfax. Its only been serviced by this shop since I purchased it July 2 years ago. My vehicle had a major brake failure. Multiple brake hoses collapsed causing calipers to sieze up. One caliper would not release at all with the other three calipers only partially releasing. They sent out a investigator, they said. More like he was just a photographer. He took pictures like he was working a vehicle accident. He probably had no clue what he was even looking at. When the service center offered to let him attempt to drive the vehicle, he said no. They don't do that, he said. Even though brake calipers and hoses are covered under the warranty, they only covered approx. $300 of the bill. My out of pocket cost was just under $3000. Replaced all 4 calipers, hoses, rotors, pads and brake fluid completely flushed and filled due to thermal breakdown. When I called for an explanation. Their adjuster, Rob, didn't even bother to take the time to respond to my message. He was probably to busy enjoying his reward of a steak dinner for screwing over another customer. I now understand why this company only deals directly thru contracts sold thru dealerships. They would not survive if they had to depend on word of mouth from satisfied customers, as I doubt any even exist. read more

Worst coverage EVER. Want your money, but will fund every excuse not to honor their warranty. I feel sorry for dealers that support them or recommend them. Read the fine print very carefully. It's not a true bumper to bumper like other top companies selling these extended warranties. The exclude things like your entire emissions system and much more. They also won't pay even if the covered part fails and takes out other things that are "excluded". I even bought their top-tier plan with no deductible and they DIDN'T cover a thousand dollars of parts and labor. Look elsewhere when shopping extended warranties! read more

Don't do it. I have been calling during business hours and get nothing. Where I am located they are pushing this on Veterans and this is how they have been treating us everytime I call and others call. It is an American ran POS. We can't even answer a simple question. I purchased a 3/36k warranty from them and a short 10 months and 0kbmiles later I traded the car in so I called to request a prorated refund. The lady on the phone said I was not entitled to a refund unless the car was totaled or stolen. The contract I signed says nothing about not giving refunds. Only if they cancel it they'll issue one. I felt I should've been entitled to one. I won't use them again and will be spreading the word how dishonest they are and how they don't honor their signed contracts. I have not exaggerated this in any way. What a terrible way to do business. Don't use them. read more

Update, requested a refund thru the dealer and the response I received is they only provide refunds if the vehicle is a total loss. As someone else said, this is a scam service. A scam service. Hint 1) look up which shops are within their network - the majority have very low ratings and will not fix your vehicle properly. Hint 2) only the dealer that sold you the policy can request a cancellation. These dealers make steep commissions which is why they sell them so hard. Hint 3) ask them what is their process for determining the issue. For determining how much to pay out. For guarantee that the issue is fixed. This is not an honest business or establishment. They make it impossible to submit any claims and to put in a claim you must use their shop. If you do not they fight you and underpay if they pay out at all. All the glowing reviews are from dealers, shops, and salesman that get commissions. It's essentially a Ponzi scheme. Think about it, who reviews an insurance company? read more

This is the second time I have to leave a negative review on this company. I believe there are better companies that sell a better product for the money. I have had aftermarket warranties in the past, and this is by far the worst one i've had. The "warranty" is not worth the money. Their company is called Proguard Warranty, but understand it is an aftermarket service contract, not a warranty. The contract does not cover a fair labor rate for technicians. I don't know any technician who has a labor rate of $100 an hour or less in the Chicagoland area that is ASE certified. Yep, that's the labor rate that is covered $100 an hour. You pay out of pocket for the difference between the shop rate and what the service contract covers. Also, you are on the hook for any taxes as well. Not to mention on most contracts you will have to pay a deductible as well. So, on an average service, you will be on the hook for about 40-50% of any shop bills you incur while your car is being repaired by a reputable dealer. Shop rates for a dealer in my area are $175-$225 an hour. All of these costs do not include the purchase price you paid for the contract. Please do your research and pick a better service contract company than Proguard Warranty. read more

But, if you're ever in the market for a car warranty service provider, please do not use ProGuard Warranty. They claim to cover everything up to the transmission, except for the exact item you need replaced. I expected a clutch to last longer than 5 months...smh. What a waste of money and time! They have plenty of coverage levels to choose from based on what the vehicle qualifies for and the customer's budget. The claims process is a breeze! Their support and claims staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Our service department staff says it's the easiest claims process compared to any competitors. As for our rep, Kevin, he is absolutely amazing! He explains everything so well and brightens the office when he comes to visit. He goes above and beyond for us. I'm so glad that I purchased this warranty when I bought my car. About a year or so after the front end was making a weird noise so I took my vehicle to my mechanic. Shortly after he calls and says ok we got the go ahead from Proguard so well have the parts by Thursday and you can pickup on Friday morning . I was beyond thrilled to hear that it was so quick. My dreding question though was the cost. I was beyond thrilled when he said it was all covered you just pay your deductible and you're good to go. I literally almost cried . Here I am thinking I'm going to have a thousand dollar or more bill ( because of course I googled the price of the parts and what not....BTW BAD IDEA) Proguard really put my mind at ease and save me thousands. They made this process so easy. No arguing with anyone. No hassling. Just a clear explanation of what is happening and BAM just like that my car is as good as new. This company has been GREAT! Steve Fox is hands down is the best person you can talk to and Dom(an owner) cares about his customers more than any owner I have encountered!! They handle my claims (if in warranty) fast and with great service. I will say for those who say "they didn't cover the issue", they cover what is on there site under the protection you bought. ***First and foremost ProGuard is approving our claim on a transmission. This review is not about that. This is a review based on customer service in COMMUNCATING with your company.*** Does this company have more than 1 man working for them to answer the telephones and return voicemails? Our car has been sitting at a repair shop for about 3 WEEKS. Not 100% PrGuards fault. ProGuard was debating with the macanic on the type of equipment to install in the car. We were told that the car was going to be moved to another shop because of this and they would get it towed there for us. Great, we just want it fixed! The original repair shop that our car had been sitting at for weeks wanted money for an evaluation fee and the car would not be released to the new repair shop until this evaluation fee was paid. Makes sense. But this isn't my fault and I shouldn't be responsible for this. It was made very very clear to Steve several times over the phone about our car not being released until this fee was paid. Steve reassured us that the fee was being taken care of and the car was going to be released to the tow truck and transported to the new shop. Two days after being reassured this was all being taken care of, still no word from anyone. We had been trying to contact Steve within those two days by calling and leaving messages with no avail. Finally day three of no news (today) we get a return call from Steve that the macanic from the original repair shop and ProGuard came to some kind of agreement and the car is going to be fixed where it had already been sitting for weeks. Again, not 100% ProGuard's fault the car has been sitting this long. But we had been told now three days ago, by Steve, everything was going to be taken care of THAT DAY and they were getting the car to the other shop and getting it fixed asap! What's been going on the past three days then, and why haven't we been notified when there were expectations as customers that were not being met? When speaking to Steve today, the car wasn't released three days ago because the evaluation fee was never paid for. When We were under the impression everything was being taken care of after hanging up with Steve three days ago. Come to find out Steve "had to leave work early the past two days" (his words, not mine), knowing this fee needed taken care of that day when we spoke to him three days ago, before it would be released from the original repair shop. Also knowing we haven't had a working vehicle in about 3 weeks, zero compassion to help us get this process moving. Also to add, I guess if you leave work early, that must mean you don't return messages left from first thing in the morning, the time the company opens. At least that's how it worked for us. What..A...Nightmare...It takes days for them to return a call/message. We feel taken advantage of because of the fact we have no other choice or option than to just deal with all this craziness to get our vehicle back fixed, under our warranty. Today I was at the point where I was ready to just explode with frustration. So instead I decided to sit down and take 30 minutes of my life to write this review. I take other people's reviews into careful consideration before I use a company or purchase items now. So I felt it was important to share our experience with others on the communication/customer service regardless of what ProGuard's response is to my review. This situation in its entirety was not 100% ProGuard's fault, but as my warranty company that we pay to have, they sure didn't make it any better or easier for us either. This is a first for me, but I feel as though it is very important for me share my experience. I was stuck in a bad situation, in which I was traveling from New Jersey to Florida. On my way I unfortunately broke down in NC and long story short things was just progressively going from bad to worse for me. It was honestly a last second situation in which some serious damages happened to my vehicle to the point I was required to pull the car over and the car was deemed immobile. Pro Guard Warranty honestly saved me in ways that I didn't think it was possible. During this stress full situation it was imperative that I made it to my destination on time in Florida because I was a very time sensitive situation for me and my job. A particular Pro Guard Associate by the Name of Steve made sure to take on my troubles and get me into a rental car so I can make it to my destination. My car needed its engine replaced and Pro Guard Warranty covered me for all damages front to back with no hassle. Steve made it his duty to get the bottom of the situation and get me back into my car as fast as possible SAFELY was his priority and I am very thankful for that. It is not often you run into big business that actually honor their mission statement to the maximum extent. I feel like it is important to know who is going to bat for you when life seems to hit rock bottom 'literally'. Steve demonstrated very effective communication and custom service skills to the highest level and I can tell he is very well educated and resourceful when it comes to cars and warranty policies overall, A true Professional. Hello. I felt compelled to share this review regarding Proguard's service in support of a recent claim. First of all my car insurer denied the claim as it was handled poorly on their side. I then called Proguard and spoke to Steve who was my adjuster. I was panicking because I needed my car to get fixed. His personable and professional communication made me very comfortable that he knew the details and was an expert on the car in question. Steve proceeded to take over and "drive" this debacle to a great completion! My car is now fixed!! Everyone including the shop where the car was repaired was extremely happy with Proguard's and Steve's handling of this process. The owner of the garage stated and I quote "Proguard" needs more visibility. They are the best Warranty Company we have dealt with and we would like to drive more customers to use proguards services.
