I've overheard dental hygienist conversations guiding patients on things like hydration and electrolytes, preventing teeth discoloration, and even thoughtful education destigmatizing cold sores with younger patients. It feels like a healthcare environment, not just a transactional appointment. And most importantly -- the work itself is exceptional. After two years as a patient, I finally replaced a yellowed and chipped front tooth filling I had avoided for years (um, decades?) because I didn't trust anyone to not make it worse. One of my children had a procedure and my insurance had negotiated rates with them for it, but they failed to honor them and said I owed more. My other child was charged for x-rays when my coverage states they were covered. Additional x-rays seemed to have been taken by the tech for no valid reason, nor was it mentioned at the time of the visit, and they are now passing the charges to me. The doctor herself is great, but someone within the practice is to blame for not accurately charging me and no one is taking ownership. I'll be taking my children elsewhere.
