Upon arriving I approved of the music as it was very upbeat and place was clean. After deciding on an acai bowl I sat and it took awhile for my food to arrive plus girl couldve been a bit more friendly. Place was cold and other patrons thought that as well since they got jackets from their cars. Super Clean! My friend recommended this place. The gentleman assisting me was very patient. I didn't feel intimidated as I viewed the menu to make my decision on what I wanted. I had a burger. What a fantastic find!!! Tasked with arranging lunch for a gaggle of collegiate swimmers, I called upon Protein House, and WOW they delivered - literally and figuratively! Not only did they bring our lunch to the pool and set it up, but the order was perfect; delicious, fresh, high quality and completely correct. The gluten-free guy loved his GF burger and the other options he tried (El Jefe and others), and the swimmers were beyond happy. The coach loved it so much that we ordered from them two more times in the week of our visit. So last week I wanted something quick and healthy as I did not have time to pick up lunch so I decided to Favor Protein House. This was my first time eating here and I ordered the Bison wrap and it was EXCELLENT! Today I wanted to try them again so I got the teriyaki salmon bowl and it was also incredibly fresh and flavorful. I'm obsessed, can't wait to try out the next dish! Yes it's a bit pricey but it's good, quality food. We don't eat out often since we cook a lot from home, so I have zero qualms indulging in these guys once a week. Highly recommended. read more

If youre a rich macro counting juice head then you've found your heaven. If you're a member of the general public you have found an expensive and extremely healthy niche fitness restaurant. I for one appreciate the expansive menu and the options that they have there. I also know that it's hard to make food low calorie and tasty so kudos to this place. If I was a rich fitness model I'd probably live here, but my wallet, body, and number of sponsorships tell me that that won't be in my future anytime soon. I came in after a workout and it was exactly what I needed. I ordered a Cajun Power bowl and it was delicious. The portion, considering that I was hungry after the workout, was more than adequate to fill me up. Plus, the fact that there is a place in McAllen that focuses on healthier eating is a major plus. I have been trying to find healthier eating establishments in the RGV, and I'm glad to have found this. Will definitely come back! read more

I normally wouldn't have done a review however the long wait time 20 minutes with 4 employees and being the only people in the restaurant, I wouldn't recommend this place. It's so hard finding a healthy place to eat in the valley and this place is not it. No matter the reviews or the healthy label slapped on to the restaurant. if you read the ingredients and the menu, a protein shake has a lot of fat and a little bit protein. Good and healthy. I'm on a Keto diet and they had excellent modified menu items. I had the southwest bowl with cauliflower rice. Very delicious Came back 1 month later. No longer on Keto so had a DELICIOUS bison wrap with sweet potatoes on the side. It was incredibly delicious, fresh and tasty. I love this place. I am a fan of ProteinHouse! This establishment is clean, efficient, and has excellent food. The menu is extensive: breakfast, lunch, dinner, shakes, coffee and others. I enjoyed a Thai Monster Bowl. This is the second restaurant I've found in McAllen that serves hormone free meat and chicken. There's a big obesity and cancer problem in The Valley due to people eating too much low quality meat full of steroids, synthetic estrogen, antibiotics, and preservatives. This is better tasting than all the spots I've been to in LA! The portions are huge! We shared the Sexy Bowl and we're both stuffed. It was about $14. I also bought a cup to have some of their fresh juice, and OMG! I loved every flavor. That also have varieties of Hot Sauces which is important to me. Chipotle Tabasco is one of my all time favorites, and nobody usually has it. So I was happy to see it. The place was clean and trendy, the only criticism I would give is the music is a little loud. Enjoyed the healthy preparation of the burrito. Not a drop of grease was detected in my burrito. In spite of fat contents, the steak burrito tasted great. Also, ordered the peanut butter and chocolate protein shake. The peanut butter seems to over power the hint of chocolate taste. What a excellent choice for my 1st time here. I ordered a spinach wrap. Which included blackbeans, avacado, egg whites and it comes with chicken. But I had chicken sub out for a veggie patty. It also came with Turkey bacon bits which I did not include. The sub for veggie patty had 2 dollar up charge.
