I would have love to give this a higher rating, but the Manhattan calzone could use some refining. starting with the good. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. It appears they use quality ingredients and if you want they will deep fry your calzine which gave the crust a light crunchy texture. Now the bad. 3/4 of my calzone was nothing but cheese. The ricotta, sliced meatball, and whole garlic cloves were all together with no cheese melted in with them. Also the whole garlic cloves were a bit of a surprise when I took a bite. It was a bit to strong. I will give this place another shot. It has great potential. Maybe ill just have a slice next time I'm in. read more

I always enjoy swinging by in between classes and getting pizza by the slice. My favorite one is their Buffalo Chicken and bbq chicken.

I tried the carne wood fired pizza and a NY style cheeze pizza to compare. I didn't get to try the sicilian style. The wood fired pizza was alright. It came out pretty greasy, but it was probably from the carne. The bottom crust was soggy. The end crusts didn't have too much flavor, but I do like that its from sourdough. The ingredients are all definitely fresh though which is great! Service was quick. I also tried their homemade root beer. Tasted a little flat, but was still good. Has a unique taste. First I do want to say, I think that providence has good pizza. This review is not about the quality of product, but about my recent customer service experience. I recently had my parents in from out of town and wanted to treat them to something local, and I live in the neighborhood so Providence made sense. I ordered online, no issues with that process. When I arrived at the store for pick up, there were no customers in the store or parking lot. I get up to the counter and there are 3 employees are standing at the cash stand. No acknowledgement, eye contact or anything. I patiently wait as 2 were doing something on one cash register and the third was on the phone taking an order. When the 2 employees were done, instead of them acknowledging me, they walk to the back. The guy on the phone see's I'm still standing there and a little annoyed at this point and literally has to call the guy that walked away back up to help me because he's still on the phone with a customer. Even then as he was verifying my order, he acted like I was inconveniencing him. This is the first time I've said this and hopefully the last, but I regret tipping on this order and honestly wish I could get my money back. If I choose to come back, hopefully the customer service is better. read more

We got the Sicilian crust Providential pizza. My husband and I had two pieces and were able to take the other half home for lunch. The ambience is simple yet, if you know Providence RI at all, he captures the beauty of the smallest state in the union with hometown pictures with grace and character. This is the first place I have found that serves authentic East Coast pizza like we had back in Rhode Island. The owner, Luke and his brother with all the staff, have hit a GRAND SLAM HOME RUN on this business venture. Not only was the Pizza so good it almost made me cry. Literally!!! Marvelous ingredients, perfect crust, great atmosphere, made with true love for their craft and for serving people. BRAVISSIMO THEN !!!!! They proceeded to go even further, paying homage to their mom, with superior integrity by producing AUTHENTIC Jersey style bagels on Saturday morning. These absolutely brought a real tear to my eye. Best pizza place in Grandview and KC area I found. Mississippi native here and went visiting for about a week. After trying it for dinner since it was sharing a parking lot with IHOPU, I fell in love with the quality of food and continued coming back. Not only was it great food but the people and service were amazing. If my wife and I manage to make another trip soon then we will definitely be dropping back in. I've passed by this place probably thousands of times over the years, but never thought to give it a try until yesterday. My boyfriend and I ordered a 12-inch Federal Hill, garlic knots, and a half order of sweet & spicy wings. Our garlic knots were overcooked and some were just flat out burnt, the rub of the wings was good but the flavor didn't really penetrate beneath the surface, and our pizza looked nothing like the photos other posters posted. Pizza is okay but its takes way too long to get it. Even ordering in advance for take out they can't seem to make a pizza and the wait at times has been over an hour. They confirm it will be ready but when you get there they haven't even started making it and dont have ingredients. They don't notify you or anything. Too bad but service is terrible. Providence has NY style pizza as well as Sicilian, or "deep dish" style. They also offer a Neapolitan style wood-fired, but that does not seem to be their specialty. On my first trip here, I ordered the Italian beef sandwich, and it was one of the BEST sandwiches I've ever had. Crusty bread, hot giardiniera, juicy meat and salty au jus to dip. A+++. I got the same thing last night actually and it was the same extreme, but on the other end of the spectrum. Bread seemed like it was boiled, literally, no crunchy at all, meat was dry, and they forgot the au jus. The pizza I've had is good, really big slices. Good for kids parties and such, but not like amazing. Every time I've been there, I've seen one of the employees drop pizza on the floor. They don't re-serve it or anything, but eventually that's going to increase the cost on the customer's end. It's in a tough location being in Grandview, but growing up there, I am glad to see it in the community! I think a little QC would go a long way for Providence, and continue to add a little variety to the pizza scene in KC. read more

The employees did not seem especially happy to see customers, the rewards card they gave me last time does not work if you're buying a whole pizza which is really weird, the water cops are tiny so you have to keep getting up and refilling your own glass every couple of minutes, and when they brought the pizza there was no explanation.
