For starters how about coming out to pick up the garbage. Sick of drivers saying they can't make it down the driveway because of too much snow when there isnt even 1 inch of snow on the ground. Then being told every day they will be out to get it and they don't. Sick of paying for a service that I'm not receiving. They purposely are waiting for it to snow so they can make their point and still not pick it up. They could have came out any day this week but they'll wait for Thursday and Friday snow to say they can't get down my driveway. Totally sick of them. Stop biling us PSI for a service we're not getting. read more

Pick it up weekly about the same time every Tuesday with the exception of holiday weeks which it's a day behind which is good because that means their employees get a day off to spend time with their families. read more

If your wanting commercial dumpsters this is NOT the place to go. The service for their dumpsters is horrible. We called in for our dumpster to be dumped , called several times during the next 2 weeks...... never happened. Called another company to bring out a dumpster, which they did the next day. I called PSI told them to come get their overflowing dumpster since they can't sevice it . They charged me to dump the dumpster AND $100 return fee. I tried calling and discussing the situation with someone but PSI is not budging. I feel their business practices lack integrity. read more

They will just randomly choose not to pick up the trash some weeks. Apparently the driver's can tell the office that the "can wasn't out in time" and then they can skip as many houses as they want. So I always put my can out an entire day in advance. The driver will still use the same excuse as to why we were skipped and apparently the driver is always believed over the customer. read more

The Idaho Falls branch is a joke. We have been customers to this company at least 3 steady years now. In that time I've had to make a many, many, calls due to being skipped for garbage collection, which wouldn't be so bad under normal circumstances. We live in a rural area with bears and cubs! I can't tell you how many times we had to scare them off because they could eventually get into the dumpster when the trash piled so high, the lids would rest upon our garbage which I'm sure isn't safe for them or us! Not only have we had to worry about the wildlife pillaging the trash but accommodate the trash that would pile up from our build (would have fit in the dumpster had we the proper service we've paid for). Our front yard is a river and we take littering very seriously. We have now been skipped again by a month even though we're charged monthly and in good standing with our revolving payments. I called earlier today and let the gal who answered the phone know the situation. The young girl was nothing short of snotty and sarcastic. I didn't get her name but it's the same girl who's on their answering machine. I'm floored. Her rude attitude and snappy tone was unnecessary and unprofessional. I was completely undeserving of such hostility. Thank goodness Brittany, a kind & professional customer service rep of PSI was just now available to talk with me. She assured me that since we have been skipped for an entire month now (a full pay cycle with no service) she would see if there were other trucks already out that could help us out. PSI, All we want is the service we are paying you for. For a while in the Fall, (due to the bears) I was calling every 2 weeks to ensure pick up, should I start calling again? I have been a customer with PSI since 1985 and they were always great but now they're horrible this is the worst company and they just keep raising their rates and downgrading their service I've been waiting since the 20th of this month for a garbage can with a lid on it and they can't even bring that to me and make it worse PSI owns Grandpa's garbage so does anybody know of another garbage collection place read more

We're done with the service, if you can call it that. At this point I'd wager there have been more weeks PSI hasn't picked up our trash in the last year or so, or picked it up late, than weeks where they have. We put that blue can at the end of our driveway on the morning of pick-up and watch it sit for days, never knowing when PSI might be along to get it. At the time of writing this, the can sits out there six days overdue, needing to be picked up. One more day and we'll be back to the regular pick up day. This kind of neglect is not an uncommon thing, so we're canceling. Every time it happens, we have to call PSI to ask if they've forgotten that we are their customer and to see if we can get a refund for that week (to my knowledge they've been good about refunding). I think PSI must be relieved to see us go, since coming for our trash seems to be a nuisance they'd rather not bother with. There was a day I pulled their garbage truck out with my FJ Cruiser when it had jackknifed on ice against the guardrail at the end of our road and couldn't move up the hill. Glad to do it, especially since they were a week late and the driver couldn't get our trash if he stayed stuck. :/ But even that favor didn't improve the service. What will we do with our garbage now that we're canceling? We're going to rethink our consumption and waste output and move toward a zero waste home. We will reduce, reuse, recycle, and we will compost. It will be a much better situation--saving us money on trash service and bad consumption choices, improving the environment, and helping us eat healthier--so I can almost thank PSI for forcing our hand to commit to something what we've always known we should be doing anyway. Due to winter weather, today was the first time in 4-weeks that I put my PSI trash bin out for pickup. The bin was full plus one extra bag. I taped a 'thank you' Easter card with $10 to the extra bag. PSI did not pick up the extra bag. I've learned if you want it picked up, put it in the bin. Also don't wait till your bin is full before bringing it to the street. My PSI trash bin has been broken for years and mice like playing in it. Duct tape on the bin helps. read more

Was Granpas trash which was great. This company had rude customer service when we called to ask why our other "non-designated" can wasn't picked up, which apparently they won't collect like before. Half the time anything we leave next to the trash can doesn't get picked up and no explanation is given. If we weren't limited to only them right now we would gladly switch. read more

This has been the worst experience I've ever had with a garbage company. We signed up for service the week before Thanksgiving. They dropped off the garbage can fairly quickly so I had high hopes for their promptness. They might have picked up our garbage one time before Thanksgiving, I can't remember. We got a notice saying that we were going to be switched from Thursday pick to Friday pickup. Friday came, no pickup. I work all day and didn't know this until I got home. Some kinda animal got into my garbage and made a huge stinky mess because the garbage wasn't picked up on time. I'm annoyed and frustrated with the animals but whatever, life happens. Maybe they just forgot that day or had weird Thanksgiving hours or something. I give them the benefit of the doubt. I call them Monday and let them know that they didn't get my garbage. They said to pile up the garbage in bags near the can if it doesn't all fit and they would grab all my garbage the next week. awesome right? nope. Being not sure if they had their days mixed up or not, I left the can out both Thursday and Friday, all day. I leave for work at 5:30am so unless they pick up Thursday morning before daylight, they missed another day. I call them again on Monday and they said the same thing. They'd be there. I confirmed with them that time my address and pickup day/time which was Friday around 10:00am depending on route taken. Once again, I leave the can out Thursday morning to Friday night. This is attempt 3. Three weeks without garbage pickup. I've got like 8 bags of garbage out there from Thanksgiving and a house full of boys. Friday night, I get home to a HUGE mess of garbage. Racoons are eating like kings at this point. Took me close to an hour to clean it all up. It was all over the yard like it was a competition to see how far they could drag garbage. I called them that night and left a very angry phone call. I may have been heated at that point a little but did not request that my services be canceled yet. I did say that if they did not pick up my garbage this week, I would cancel, demand a full refund, and leave negative reviews on as many sites as I could find. About 10-15 minutes before writing this review, I received a phone call from them saying that they canceled my services. I didn't argue or fight it. I just want out at this point. So, here's the first of many 0-1-star reviews. Save yourself some time, buy a garbage trailer and take your garbage yourself. Its way cheaper than pickup service. Like a quarter of the cost. And there's a landfill in St Anthony near Broulims. read more

1.0 star rating 6/9/2016 First to Review Have never been completely happy with Grandpa's Trash Service and thought maybe things would be better now that PSI has purchased the operation, but not the case. PSI has the city contract in Twin Falls and does a great job there, but apparently things are different in Idaho Falls where they are not tied to the big $$$ associated with a city contract. The straw that broke the camels back - trash has been out since the evening before the regular pickup day - trash was not collected on pickup day - called the office at 4:55 pm inquiring as to reason - was told the route supervisor would call me the next day. 11:30 am the following morning - have not heard from route supervisor - called the office again. Was told the route supervisor will call me when he gets in. What a surprise! No call from the route supervisor on day 2 and trash has still not been collected! I called again (joyfully) on day 3 to cancel their service as I have found another company that charges slightly less for both our residential and commercial service, and they are actually pleasant to speak with. There are other options in the Idaho Falls area, so save yourself the headache and avoid the hassles of GTS/PSI. read more

This was Grandpa's Trash Service, which was great! I had no problems. But then.... this company took over and I am lucky to get my trash picked up every other week! Switched to Grandpa's Trash service from PSI 10 or so years ago because PSI would raise the rates for their service every billing or every other billing. Grandpa's Trash was unbelievably less expensive. I paid the yearly fee upfront with Grandpa's Trash because of the discount. My last payment to Grandpa's Trash for the full year was in January 2016 for $176.00. I received PSI's first billing (since their buyout of Grandpa's Trash) in January of 2017 for the first quarter of this year. It was $32. I was thrilled thinking I would be getting a substantial savings. But, true to their previous colors, I just received my April statement charging me $50.21 for the second quarter of 2017 and that I need to be aware that there will be a "small" service fee adjustment in the future due to a waste disposal increase by Bonneville County on 4/3/17. So here we go again. I'm sure Grandpa's Trash had fee increases from the County during their tenure, but my bill with them never increased more than a few dollars each year when I paid the yearly fee upfront. Not too excited to see what the increase will be on my next billing, but I plan to find another service provider before then. read more
