Then I asked if there is anywhere else in Chicago they do aura readings and she said no and hung up! My friends and I made appointments to get readings on my friend's birthday. When we arrived a few minutes before our scheduled time, Lida told us she had double booked and we would have to wait. We waited outside for a few minutes and then she came back out and said that she actually accidentally booked us at her second location and wouldn't be able to take us at the location we were at (Old Town). She then told us to go to the second location a few blocks away and we could be seen by the psychic there. She called the other location and confirmed we would be seen. So we walked 10 minutes to the other place and when we got there the other psychic (who said she was Lida's daughter) told us we would have to wait an hour to be seen. I was very excited for my visit to Old Town Chakra but, unfortunately, left with a bad taste in my mouth. I made an appointment to go with a few close friends. We were caught very off-guard when we were told that our readings would be $50 apiece (rather than the $25 advertised outside the front door.) The owner said this was because she stayed late for us, but we came at our scheduled time during regular business hours. When we then asked if we could use one of the available coupons on display, she said no but recommended that we schedule an appointment for additional services and apply the coupon to that future visit. Bad bad experience. She flipped all the cards and kept telling me that I had negative energy around me and someone had cursed me since childhood. She said she can remove this curse and negative energy but of course that would require me to pay her a few thousand dollars. She even tried to sell me cheap crystals and candles for a few hundred dollars. Never ever going back to her. read more

Unfortunately, I did not have a good experience. I wandered in to look at crystals I was told there was a weekend discount and/or I could get a free reading with a $50 purchase. After my reading I wanted to purchase a crystal that had a price tag attached but was told it wasn't for sale and ultimately there was no discount, $50 for a 15 minute reading. The reading entailed turning over every card in the tarot deck. This was new to me, I am used to a spread with only a few cards revealed. When I asked about this, Natalie disparaged other psychic readers who do this saying they are "scripted" and not authentic. I did not appreciate this response - I find it unprofessional to bad mouth colleagues. Most every card "pointed" to my requiring additional work and, not surprisingly, at an additional cost.
