It was with some trepidation that I finally had to do this - ouch! Yes that day came for getting or…read morerather starting to get back into shape having put on put on 2 stone over the last two years. So I sought out the nearest (professional) person who could help me and I found someone called Jana Matouskova - very local to me in Southgate (which is handy) but she normally works at a Fitness First in the City. Didn't really know what to expect but she was pretty cool, put me at ease, and then spent a long time talking to me about the usual, diet, exercise (or lack of) and surprisingly my sleep pattern, and how much water (not hot drinks) I drank a day. After the questionnaire it was a warm up which wasn't too bad, inc stretching etc. and then she kind of revved up the workout in stages with small rest periods of a min or two until I actually felt I was working out quite hard. Bear in mind this was after a long time with no real exercise except a lot of daily walking so I was quite pleased with myself until she told me this was a gentle starter exercise. She was pretty attentive to how I was doing and one one occasion she said she could tell that the exercise didn't fit with me so she modified it slightly as she could tell my knees weren't quite up to it yet. After a warm down we discussed making a few small changes to my diet and then when to meet for the next session. Overall I was very impressed, one thing she said while discussing diet was "I cant make you eat raw spouts" by which she meant that my diet would be best approached by making small sensible manageable changes that combined with the routine she left me with to do 2 maybe three times a weeks would bring on quite dramatic changes to my fitness and tone over the next few weeks/months. Maybe I'll post more after next few sessions but I would definitely recommend her as a PT/ nutritionist to anyone wanting to shape up and I will definitely be going back for more (punishment)
