The first paragraph applies to ALL Public Storage locations. If you keep your unit for some time, they keep raising the price. After a few years, you'll find yourself paying a multiple of the current online price. What you should do is rent another unit (you might need to find somebody else to rent it for you) and move all your stuff. I would have saved multiple thousands of dollars per year had I realized that all along. Some years back, they had a flood due to a contractor breaking their sprinkler system. They disclaimed responsibility for damage, stating that their contract said they weren't responsible for negligence. Fortunately, my unit wasn't affected, else I would have had to go after them for gross negligence (which cannot be disclaimed by contract). read more

If you rent here, just know the location isn't temperature controlled. I still like the Facility. What I really appreciate is the light in each storage unit. It's not the brightest bulb, so bring a flash or Mag light with you. Now that winter is upon us be advised that the interior WILL BE just as cold, if not colder, than the weather outside., so if you plan to spend any length of time in your unit, dress in layers. REMEMBER, the floor is concrete, so your toes will feel the cold if you're standing long enough; faster if you wear thin soled shoes. The cold really messes with your hands after a while so bring some insulated work gloves. Also, it will be a good idea to get a large container of DAMP RID to keep your unit from gathering moisture. We bought a giant tub from Home Depot for $11. read more

The worst! We removed our items from the storage today and the floor inside the storage is wet and there is mold on several of our items including our headboard. Our items were only there for 4 weeks. The on site staff member and the manager (George) are caring oblivious to the fact that there is damage to my items and telling me to file a claim with my personal homeowner's insurance. DO NOT store your items here! read more

I have been researching, quite a few storage locations for a while. I choose Public Storage, because it's easy to get to. Stopped in today and was greeted by Jasmine. She was well aware of the prices, rooms and the promotions. She went over every detail, line for line and I appreciated that. She also made small talk, and made me feel like an old friend. I was excited to have found a storage unit that offered me a 10'-10' for $187.00 however, the unit had no lightbulb which I had to purchase and install on my own. The unit had to be swept out the day of my opening and moving. The rodent traps/poison are left out in vision which made me really squirming to want to use the facility until I was explained that every storage has to have rodent protection. It doesn't necessarily mean there are rodents but I'm still hopefull that I won't be taking no unwanted company when I remove my belongings. As well be careful of the new month rent charges rent is due in the 1st..I ran into an unfortunate problem this month and notified them to add in the late fee I'll pay the balance in the following week..I get hit with the late fee of an extra $60 late then I make it he storage the next day after my original due date to pay my balance and put some items In my unit..to find a lock on my unit. The attended couldn't give me change I had to run around for exact change. The boss was called to get a lock cutter and stated he was no where around he doesn't live in Westchester. Which inconvenienced me causing me to be able to gain entry into my storage. Telling me to wait till Monday on a Saturday morning. Thank god for friends with tool sheds. That lock will be taken off today. I will still be seeking compensation for this matter. The location is the worst..the day I am able to find another space within the area my will be transferring my belongings immediately. read more

With a 2-month gap in between selling my home and purchasing my next home, I had to find a storage facility for a short-term need. I did some research and Public Storage in Pelham had the best prices in town. First month at $1 and no hidden fees, the location is off the beaten path in Pelham but super convenient right off the Hutch and close to I-95. Michelle was AMAZING and helped me get exactly what I needed which was the largest storage room in the facility - 10' x 20' Highly recommend Public Storage and ask for Michelle. In an age of incompetence and laziness, it was a breath of fresh air working with someone so sharp and detail oriented. Can't go wrong with this place. read more

I reserved a storage room for this facility online. When I arrived in person Lissa was at the front desk working. She was knowledgable and friendly. She took the time to show me several different available options and was able to answer all my questions. We went over my contract line by line and I felt 100% comfortable with my decision. While the facility is certainly clean, there are big issues with this facility and company. Several months ago, the lighting outside my unit was not working. Though I made many requests to have the lights fixed, it took 6 weeks before I could move things in and out of my unit with more than the light on my cell phone. The "Property Managers" at the facility are nothing more than floor sweepers who try to upsell you on supplies and cannot be bothered with any legitimate requests. They will act put out and give you the phone number for the corporate office or Regional Manager in lieu of actually trying to assist you. As for the company in general, be very careful of the prices they quote online. First off, the price they quote online is a limited time "teaser" price that they will change after 6 months. Nowhere in any documentation does it say this. The agreement does state that they reserve the right to change the rate after 6 months, but that is different than saying that they will most certainly raise your rate by at least 20 percent as soon as that 6 month period is up. I have used other storage facilities in the past and I don't think my rate changed by more than $20 total over the span of two or three years. After 6 months at Public Storage, my rate was raised by $36. Also keep in mind that they will force you to purchase insurance for the contents of the unit, something that I have never had to do at other facilities. While their rates may look great online, the total long term price is always much more. read more

When I had to move out of my old house before my new house was ready I needed a place to store everything that I own. Jasmine and Lissa helped me find a big unit. They reserved it for me. They were friendly and helpful, letting me charge my computer and sit in the airconditioned office while my movers did the heavy lifting. I was thrilled to find Public Storage so close to my home. I called in a bit of a panic as I needed a 15' unit on the first floor asap, which is quite a tall order these days. I was able to get one booked and moved in within a couple of days. Lissa was great and helped me in my time of need. What started out as a nightmare become calm almost immediately with her help. The facility is clean and safe, and as I said, Lissa has always been courteous, patient and professional addressing all of my needs. read more

I had a great experience moving in to my unit. Michelle provided excellent customer service at the move in. Although the contract does state that the terms(price) may change with 30 days notice, BUYER BEWARE!!! After only 4 months of renting my unit, my monthly rate was raised by 21%. I only received 20 days notice via e-mail. After speaking to Michelle, she advised me that she was unable to assist me with anything to do with price increases. She provided me with an 800 number to call which just redirected me back to her after following the voice prompts. She then provided me with the name and number of the DM Alex who has yet to return my call. BUYER BEWARE!!! read more

I have been at Public Storage for a number of years and have always been impressed by the upkeep and the customer service. But sadly enough on my recent visit I was totaling disappointed. The place is dirty and in a state of disrepair. Bathroom had caution tape across the door and the garbage area was overflowing, a breeding ground for rodents. These are things that were always on point when Mindy & Raul managed the place. Will be looking to relocate. read more
