I'm looking for a unit to put my things in because I'm moving states I rented a 10x20 for a small fee but I'm hoping that things will stay positive. They are having someone doing painting and I believe a few more things I met an African American lady who helped me find my unit since it there was no #'s due to the painting. I'm hoping my stuff will be okay since the reviews were not positive. But my family rented at Uhaul In Taylor and it was a bit pricey for me. read more

not good at all I Bought a storage unit from here and when we were done nobody was in here and we got locked in

Rodents got into my unit. Do not rent from here they raised my rate a $100 per month. I also found a huge pile of gravel in the unit and my lock was changed. Many things were ruined and I couldn't even go in the unit because of all the droppings. read more

the unit was decent but I don't like how hard it is to find your unit due to no direction and lack of signs posted. also I was two minutes late comping out of unit and received a call and email . plus I was charged the wrong amount read more

I too needed to buy boxes to move. I went into Public storage on Pelham because it was close to me. Trina showed me the different types of boxes I would need. I also bought tape and bubble wrap. Ty for helping it made my move less stressful Went back the other day. Trina was still there to greet me. I needed a tape and packing paper. Was clean and organized. Poor management. Called for weeks straight with not one return phone call or email back nothing at all. Poor service.

I still cannot understand how my monthly rate has risen by so much. There is still on-line reservations advertised for considerably less and yet my rate keeps going up and up! Anybody who has ever moved knows that you never really know how much stuff u have until you go to pack everything up.. that being said it's the last day of moving and I am freaking out i still have a ton to pack without boxes to pack them in.. I make a quick trip to public storage in Taylor and am greeted by Trina. She must of seen the frustration in my face.. I told her what I needed to pack and she suggested certain boxes for me.. When I got home I had just the right amount of boxes and it didn't break the bank.. than you Trina you saved the day read more

The staff also the manager Marikye is very friendly and knowledgeable of their service. From start to finish. Registration was easy and we'll explains. I rented an in door unit for my biz need while staying by Detroit airport. Facility is clean. Access hours are fairly good. Not 24/7. But standard for most. Location was easy to find. Once you have the unit it's fine. However the customer service is awful. The online process should be simple but they didn't send an access code and when they did, it didn't work. I tried calling left a message to call back and nothing. The second day came and the code still did not work. I called and left more messages. Still no calls back. So now two days I've loaded my truck to unload and can't even access my unit. Third day came, I drove there during office hours on my lunch and got there at 1115 and sign said they would be back at 1045. 20 minutes later they come up in their golf cart. the staff was able to reset my access code. I drive to my unit there's a lock on it. Not my lock either. CallEd the office. No answer. Call again and leave a message. 10 minutes later I drove around and find the employee sitting on the golf cart. Just sitting. They finally let me into my unit. At this point I've paid for two days I haven't used, loaded my car multiple times to just have to unload back at my house. I waisted a ton of time. Honestly I would have rather just walked in and done it all there on The spot. Not even a sorry. read more

First time using this company. I booked online for a lower monthly rate. Once arriving at the facility, Marikaye was very helpful. She took me to the unit, showed me the size and asked if it would work for me. The paperwork only took a few minutes and was explained well. read more

a scam! do not rent here! they start you off on a great monthly rental fee and within months, your rent keeps going up and up to ridiculous hikes and there's nothing you can do about it. specials are very brief. read more

I started with Public storage in oct 2013,at the Pelham Taylor mich facility they were really nice , and seemed helpful when I moved in they pro-rated my rent since it was in mid of month and I asked that when I leave if the middle of month will I get pro-rated as well, I was told yes.I had a indoor unit. Never had any problems except my insulation started falling down from ceiling.. The ladies at the facility said they could not fix it because they could not get on ladders, so I told them that would be ok I would see if my husband could fix it.1 year later it started falling again they finally hired someone to tape it up. They also raise the rent by $12 every 6 months which I started out with a great rate but that was just ridiculus after almost 3yrs.having the rate jump so much every 6 months. So I found a place closer to home that said they do not raise the rates..I moved out in Mid April after paying for the month, but when I went to get my pro rated refund they all of a sudden said the rules changed as of April 1st, which I feel is entirely unfair as a large company, there was never no notice sent out about no longer getting pro rated rate back if you move out in mid of month but they sure make sure they send out a notice when they raise it..I called numerous times to the district manager left numerous voice mails for 3 weeks never got a reply from her or any of them when I kept calling back and explaining what was going on they all apolized and said they would have district person get back but never heard to this day from anyone, so finallly I called and got angry and they said it is all corporate and there is nothing that can be done..Poor customer service as far as I am concerned company takes your money and don't care nothing about the cust.... read more

I needed a quick, last minute unit for a month and Public Storage was very affordable and close to my home. HOWEVER I am VERY unhappy with the underhanded sales techniques and flat out lies of the staff member, Trish. I was first told that I needed to purchase their lock for 20 dollars to put on my unit or use one exactly like it because those were the only ones allowed. Then when I happened to see a standard size padlock on a neighboring unit and asked her about it she told me that "those types of locks were no longer permitted on the property". So now I needed to buy a special lock for this storage unit. THEN when Im signing my lease agreement she told me that I was REQUIRED to have some sort of insurance on my unit. Come to find out that was also false. My roommate had a unit there and said they try to con you into getting insurance. When I returned to the office ten minutes later with lock in hand and confronted Trish about the false insurance claim she continued to say that the insurance was required until finally saying-after much fuss- that I could actually deny the insurance. Oh and the standard size padlock for my unit? That was fine too. Also they weren't able to refund me the 11 dollars that I had just paid for the insurance that I didn't need nor want so they had to put a credit on my account and I'll get an 11 dollar check in the mail next month. Ridiculous. This place and that staff member left a bad taste in my mouth. Absolutely disgusting, bullying-style sales techniques. I will never recommend this storage facility to anyone. read more
