Outstanding experience with Downey!! I have been doing business with Downey Publishing for my yellow pages ad for over 17 years. The ads were excellent quality and the price was very reasonable. I have a business in a small town with a draw from several counties surrounding it. The phone book covers all that area so I do not have to contract with every single city book. I am meticulous about proof-reading, both the ad and the information entered by my service rep, so have had zero problems with errors. So this is my 2nd year in using Downey Publishing. My 1st year I called and want to do a yellow page ad. Met with the sales rep Kurt Rematore. He sold me a 1/2 page ad. The rep said he would send me a proof to look at and approve. He said they will not print until I approve the ad. After about 3 weeks I hadn't received ad so I called and they sent it over within 5 minutes. I looked at the add told him the changes and then they resent with corrections. A month later I start receiving phone call on my personal phone. I asked everyone how they are getting my personal phone #. They said its in the phone book. I look sure enough its my PERSONAL PHONE # printed in the phonebook. I go back to my proof and it has the business phone # and not my personal. I called and they said there is nothing they can do now that its printed but next year they will make it right and give me a discount. She said just be lucky that the calls are getting to you and its not completely wrong. Which is true but its not our business phone # and I am getting calls at all hours of the day. Now this year 2016. The Downey sales rep called me Jim Vandament on April 20, 2016 told him I can meet on April 22, 2016. We met that day and I told him what happened and he said that he cant give me a discount, BUT if you increase your ad size I will give you a discount. So I did. I went from a 1/2 page to a full page ad. and also added a whole another directory in another county. He said I promise I will make sure you get a proof so you can look over in about 2 weeks. I had been busy and haven't received any proof so I called my rep on May 27, 2016 and he said he would check. May 31, 2016 I received my proof. Immediately replied with changes. He calls me on June 01, 2016 and says I received your changes, but its too late. Phone book is already printed!!!! Told him how mad I was that this has happened to me twice, so I called directly to the Downey Publishing. Spoke with Jennifer and she said she spoke with the owners and it is NOT company policy to email a proof to the customer that is buying an ad from them. That once they tell the sales rep what they want and the sale rep puts that on the contract. Then its a done deal she said. I said what about the wrong info. Like what good does it do if your phone is wrong in a phonebook!!!! Of course it cant be changed after its printed but they could at least give me a credit/refund of some of my money. NOT HAPPY WITH DOWNEY PUBLISHING!!!! DONT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE!!!! Use the real Yellow Page!!! read more
