Publix has become the leading name in the supermarket field here in the southeast. Once you experience a Publix supermarket yourself, I am confident that you will understand how Publix has become such an iconic supermarket brand and has developed such a loyal customer base down here in the southeast. Publix has created a solid reputation by offering incredible customer service, great BOGO (buy one, get one free) deals, and we cannot forget their subs, which are affectionately known as "Pub Subs." Coming from New Jersey, a state known for their great subs, in a way, it hurts me to state that a supermarket has some of the best subs in the area. But it is also a 100% true statement. Publix subs are very good. My go-to sub is probably their Italian sub, which is truly a tasty offering. I also enjoy their roast beef and cheese sub. I would definitely recommend upgrading it by using Boar's Head meat. It is definitely worth the small upcharge. This location is a nice enough location and offers a nivlce enough ambiance to do your food shopping. I would definitely recommend this particular Publix location or any Publix location for that matter and I give it five stars. read more

After 8 months, I'm updating my review (long overdue, apologies). I believe the poor reception I received here was due to the summer slumps that all suffer from in Florida or perhaps they just had a really bad couple of months. Over time, I've noticed that this Publix has really come to be a store that I rely on and trust. The employees, in general, are polite and friendly and have, on numerous occasions, gone above and beyond to assist me while shopping. It's always clean and well-maintained, and has a good stock of items. They will go into the back storeroom and look for things if you ask nicely. (Believe me, it's happened.) Their Apron Meals are always on-point and the Deli is excellent, always handing out samples. The Bakery is fab, as usual. (Helps that the head bakery is located just on the outskirts of town!) read more

Very disappointed with this location which I shop at ( not anymore ) This morning 12/17/2022 at 11:00 am ET I went to pick up a western Union that was sent to me from Europe. The blonde girl that was working in the lotto area was everything but helpful . She had an attitude and when I told her the amount I was picking up the kept saying "no it's not the right amount ... I can't release the money" I showed her the receipt and still nothing she wasn't willing to help nor did put any effort in it. No reason to be rude since I was very kind to her. Publix please do a better job screening your employees, or do more trainings because you are better than Walmart. Went to the Publix Lake Miriam and things went smooth and I cashed it in ... like every single time that store has outstanding service read more

Been shopping here for the last few years when in the area. The food selection is good, the store is clean and the employees have been nice overall. Publix seems to have that down. They have always had the food or household I have been looking for. I can count on the lines to move quickly as well. Publix at Southgate has had a new facelift, at least despite being in an older shopping center, fairly recently and that is a good thing. This store is definitely superior to the Bartow Road location. Bigger and better looking. Looks like it underwent a major renovation in the last few years considering the super modern design and feel. Deli, bakery and produce sections are much bigger than Bartow Road though I've seen even bigger places in Orlando. Why is the produce in the back? Weird. The arrangement of items by aisles is also a bit strange. Why are there diapers across from the cookies? This must be something Publix does on purpose. I like that this store has a sushi selection. Their beer selection is kinda meh. I wish Publix would embrace the craft revolution. Wine section is pretty good. This store also has a pharmacy which is cool. Plenty of registers but there were only a couple open on a Saturday afternoon. Thankfully there was no line but it's strange it's that dead at that time. Anyway, this is probably the best Publix in Lakeland. I'll probably go here from now on. read more

This pharmacy staff could use some improvement. They've given me an incomplete antibiotic prescription for my child twice... which is a medical error. They have unnecessary delays, I came in on Monday for them to refill, they were needing to message the dr, came back Friday and it still wasn't ready. The staff made rude remarks as I waited with my crying child, a blonde technician was the rudest. She would look over and loudly and rudely say " what the heck is going on!?" read more

This wonderful Publix was rebuilt from the ground up a couple of years ago, and simultaneously enlarged. We've only done regular shopping here a time or two since it reopened but I grab a bite for lunch here every so often. The store is clean, the staff is friendly, and the selection is decent. Prices are higher at Publix than at some other local grocery stores. Recommended. read more

This is also my favorite Publix. I've been to almost all in Lakeland and this store has the most customer-friendly group of employees. CONS: High grocery prices (I don't have a 50K+ income) PROS: Fresh produce, Deli and Bakery (all high-priced but very good) (their freshly made breads are very good) The only Deli items not high priced are their sandwiches. These are excellent. These blow the competition away. More flavorful meats and cheeses along with prices that are well below the area average. You will still pay 6-8 dollars for a great sub but, when you consider that half of that sub alone is twice what you'll get from the local competition (same size but twice the meat and cheese), you're actually paying only about half of what a competitor's sub would cost you. I actually believe you would have to order a Subway sub with 3 or 4 times the meat and 6-8 times the cheese to get an equivalent product but that would cost you twice as much as a Publix sub and still not taste as good. read more

I really enjoy shopping at this grocery store. The staff (as always) was friendly and helpful on this trip. The bakery gives a free cookie to children when they come in the store. The store is always clean and well organized. It is very easy, normally, to find what you are looking for. The Staff is great about walking you to the location of what you are looking for if you cannot find it. I usually go into Publix to pick up lunch before heading to work. I love their deli, which allows you to order over the phone for pick up. I also like the fresh Sushi that is available by the seafood counter. You can also call ahead to order fresh sushi platters. read more

Apparently people walking in from outside and the telephone have priority over in-store customers in a long line. Elizabeth and Stephanie were extremely rude. When asked for a store manager we were thrown a piece of receipt and told he wasn't in the store. The cashier Anne actually called the manager on duty David to hear our complaint. Elizabeth and Stephanie were making discussed immature faces until they saw we were looking at them. You get what you hire for customer service. read more
