    Review Highlights - Puccini's Pizzeria e Ristorante

As others have said it is frequented by Manchester United players - the last time we went my son had his shirt signed by Ji Sun Park.

Just to cheer us up a bit after a hard year. mission accomplished we had a lovely meal! The place itself a hotel and resturant was easy to get to and had pleanty of parking. Outside it looked like a large traditional redbrick family pub, the inside however is unfeasably light airy and modern. It infact reminds me of my old student union (actually a good thing and of course minus the sticky floors and smell of disinfectant) with funky chairs and cool artwork on the walls. There was a varied selection on the menu although nothing that stood out as particularily inventive or special. That said the food was good, I had a prawn and crayfish salad, this was basically a prawn cocktail on a plate with toast and was very nice. Followed by a "pizza rosso" red peppers, sundried tomatoes, goats cheese and sweet chilli. The base was somwhere inbetween what I think of as thin crust and deep pan, thin but yet light and fluffy and freshly made. So pretty much had a enjoyable evening with no complaints. Would definately visit again, but more of a place for a cheap weektime treat than a destination for a special occasion.

We were greeted at the door by a friendly waiter who showed us to our seats and after a few mins took our order. The food came at a fairly quick time, we weren't waiting too long and the food was piping hot. Everything was delicious and I cannot fault it. It's just a shame the place was fairly empty as it's a wonderful establishment and should be bustling with customers! Go visit this place!

There is a small car park and room to park on the road outside. The owners (one of them is a Premiership Referee so look out for the odd famous face) live in the Bolton area and can often be seen working in the resaurant. It is my favourite place to eat. From the moment you walk in, you are made to feel welcome. There are 2 Italian waiters who speak excellent English and are more than happy to help you pronounce the items and even teach you some Italian. The menu is extensive with daily specials. There is a good choice of wine. There is a small bar area that you can retire to after your meal. The food is reasonably priced and freshly prepared to your specifications.

Its a chain but there is only eight of them and they're all around the north - a truly Mancunian establishment then whilst remaining truly Italian in its good quality food. This used to be the standard dinner out when I was younger; you know a treat for the family every once in a while. And it delivers all the friendly, totally unpretentious atmosphere, quick service and range of dishes that such a treat needs. How could it be pretentious I suppose but still, you know what I mean. The building here is really elegant and cool - both inside and out. The restaurant is really spacious and it does really feel like you are in Italy by the sea somewhere: cream walls, light wooden chairs and plants everywhere. Everyone around here knows that San Rocco serves up good Italian food at a good price and you really should always trust the locals.

The food is great too love the (very unitallian) rollmop starter, the wood fired pizzas are superb, perfect handmade pasta that's making my mouth water just thinking about it, very nice house wine!
