I don't really know too much about flowers, or florrists, mainly due to the fact that having moved house in Leeds 'umpteen' times (having been a student here) I rarely see the point nurturing and looking after a plant, it's hard enough looking after yourself at uni! However, that was then, and this is now, and perhaps I'm growing old and my approach is softening, I really do like having green things littering my home, just so long as I remember to water and care for them!
I went in to buy a bouquet for my new flat (my mum was visiting, had to make it look like I'd really gone up in the world following several years of living in grimier houses that were fundamentally uncared for). I was hovering outside for a while, I have no idea how much flowers are supposed to cost, but upon entry, the lady in there-who had noticed me hovering was pretty helpful. I bought an assortment of colourful floral things (don't ask me what they were, I haven't the foggiest) and a little potted plant for under a fiver. Not bad? Who knows, but I'll probably be going back. As said, maybe I'm softening with age.. read more
