The second time we went here some people in our group didn't really get good food and are now not wanting to go back. I would like to chalk that up to it just being a fluke, maybe the head chef was sick? I will definitely go back -- I haven't had seafood as good as this anywhere in Puerto Rico, but I am also curious to see if the uneven quality will persist or if it was a one time thing. The calm waters are perfect for swimming, and those looking for further activity can rent pedal boats. Clearly this isn't the beach you will find seclusion, but you can count the fact that there will be no loud music - as that and smoking are banned from the sand. If you are looking for a readymade experience, dine at one of the many adjacent restaurants. Dinner on the open patio of Las Caracolas de Amadores had a perfect view for sunset, and by this time the beach had all but cleared out from its sun seekers. Both tapas and a general menu are offered, service is friendly and efficient. For a starter try the fried little green peppers which are wrinkly, charred, sea salted, and utterly delicious. We ordered 1 plate of Mexican tapas,…read more1st waited 30 mins for the appetizer, our Asian server brought 2 plates bc apparently he misunderstood, he wanted to make us pay for something we didn't order and when we denied paying the extra plate he brought by mistake, he called the police on us, he was extremely rude to us. He ended up having to take the extra plate from the check when the police came and we were going to open a legal complain against the restaurant with the Turisim Department of Spain. Please never go there. They treat you friendly just to get you in bc it is a touristic area and they never see people again but in reality they are horrible unreasonable people at least the 2 Asian servers The guy and the girl.
