First off, the gentleman that helped us out was really nice and really knowledgeable. He explained that most if not all of their stock is hand made by local glass artists. Second, they have a lot of really beautiful pieces that you might even buy just to smoke tobacco out of (probably not the intended use), and their durable too. He even tossed a few onto the concrete floor to prove it. Plus, they have a few great noveltyish artsy pieces too (check out the hammer). Also, they have some really nice one-of-a-kind glass wine stoppers too, and some other non-smoking handmade glass stuff as well. They also offer the occasional class on glass bead-making, and they may have a class on glassblowing too. Even if you're not big on the use of herbal supplements, so to speak, this place is pretty cool to check out for beautiful hand-blown and hand-shaped glass.

Originally we had stopped at a competing store within a block or two of the Dark Arts store. (Forgot name of other store, but Dark Arts actually helps stock them, and they are overpriced.) The manager, to me and my friends utter amazement saw us waiting for the store to open. In a wonderful twist of fate he offered us a ride to his store, insisting they were cheaper and had a wonderful business going. Of course I hopped in! These people were obviously not some creep in milwaukee looking for someone to mug. We got to the store, saw some amazing artwork in the store, amazing glass pieces locally made. If you're reading this review and wondering if it's worth it, IT IS. VISIT! They even have a referral program, you refer a customer to them and have them mention your name you get percentages off your next purchase! Isn't that neat or what!?!? (No, I'm not in any way affiliated in family or friendship to the owners of this store in case you're wondering. I live in Lake Mills, these people inhabit Milwaukee.)

I came with a particular need in mind, shade annuals to plant in a specific area. I assumed going to a local business rather than a chain would entail more of a personal touch but I didn't get that. The two employees greeted me but didn't ask if I needed any help so I figured I'd just roam around and see what I could find. I didn't think the types of plants were labeled very well, so I ended up back at the register to ask for advice. After I interrupted her reading a magazine, the lady gave me a couple of suggestions and pointed to areas I could look but it would have been nice if she walked me to the spot and helped me look for what she recommended. She also mentioned they were out of the options that may be a good fit so I guess, come earlier than the first week of June for a full selection. We aren't all garden experts and I was hoping they would be. Anyway, I figured out what to get by reading the markers in the plants. I can't say for sure, but I feel like I was also overcharged for the plants I selected. You'll see in my picture but their pricing for most items is based on the size of the container. How do I know the guy who rang me up picked the right price? My receipt didn't provide details so I couldn't verify later. Anyway, I like the plants I selected but I don't think I'll return. I get more of a personal touch with plant advice from my local hardware store (though they have a limited selection).

They used to not take credit card under a certain amount. Now they take it for any amount. They have at least 5 doors of beers and canned mixed drinks and double that for wine. In addition to light beer they had local craft beer- MKE, Third Space, Eagle Park, Lakefront, and less local Toppling Goliath. They have soda, snacks, and some typical corner store food- cans, microwavable, etc. They have individual cans of soda if you don't like bottles. They have a lot of smoking paraphernalia as well. The cashier spot might not be obvious. It's slightly to the left when entering.
