The woman with the bright red hair in the service department/customer service department was INCREDIBLY rude to us.
We just moved to the area and could not find the building because our GPS tracker was not clearly labeled, and the building was also not clearly labeled. We are two college students and we have never had to do billing before in this area.
Therefore, I called the number asking about their services, explained my situation and got an extremely rude reply in return.
The conversation went like this:
"Hello! I'm wondering if this is the water service department? We were wondering if you could please help us with that information? Our GPS is leading us to abandoned buildings rather than the department."
"Where are you right now?"
"Um we are not sure specifically where we are at the moment because we are not sure where the building is."
"You know what? I can't help you if you don't know where you are. Give me a location or I can't help you." She cut me off in a sassy tone, ignoring my earlier question.
"We are in Dublin, we just wanted to know if this was the right department for water service."
She then cut me off and said: "we are in the brick building, 101 drive, door in the right." And hung up before I could even say thank you.
I was flabbergasted at how rude she was over the phone, especially because I was extremely polite to her and friendly.
We drove back down the road and went to the brick building which was actually not the correct address online.
When we went through the glass doors on the right which said "service department" and we explained our situation to a kind, short haired woman. She asked what we were looking for and we replied that we were trying to pay for our services and that we were confused because we just moved into the area.
Before she could reply this woman with bright red, spikey-ish hair stood up and said "oh you were the ones I was talking to on the phone? Yeah you are really confused aren't you?" In this incredibly rude and sassy tone.
Then she snapped at us and told us that "I TOLD you that the department was to the right past the glass doors." And sat back down in her seat.
At that point my sister gave me this shocked look and we went back outside to the other door on the hallway on the right which was the correct department but unlabeled. It was a half open door and no one was there to service us when we walked in which was why we thought that it was the other door on the right.
All in all we had an incredibly bad experience with this woman. Although, the people at the water service department were kind and friendly, and also willing to answer our questions.
We are just shocked that someone so rude would work in a service department. If you aren't kind or well mannered OR professional, why are you working in a job that requires you to work with people? I usually give people the benefit of the doubt when I meet someone who is rude, but this woman went too far with her rude attitude. read more
