Two grips however it doesn't have a pool, and the roof view to the west looks at skyscrapers and roof tops. However if you are an early riser check out the roof top at sunrise. Ohhhhh two more negatives sorry when you are pay $400 a night for your room the least they could do is actually make you a fresh cup of coffee. UNFORTUNATELY! The have one of those automatic push the button and the machine pours out brown water with no flavor! If you ask for a real cup of coffee they want to charge you more for it. Seriously $400 dollars for my room and I still have to pay for my coffee! So I giving it a very weak 4 star's just like there weakest coffee possible! Yuk!

Ok, maybe I'd throw in the word comfort too, for this hotel had the most comfortable bed of my entire two week trip. Yup, I was as snug as a little joey in his mother's pouch. Oh, and the carpeted floors were simply Heaven with so much spongy padding underneath the carpet that I felt like I was walking on a cloud. I swear this experience was just like taking a trip to a spa, and it had me crying, "Why can't my carpets at home be this awesome!" Finally, the location of this one rocks!! The whole area near the hotel is loaded with bars and restaurants of just about every style--why I even found a sushi conveyor-belt restaurant around the corner. Kanpai! Yes Sir, whatever language you want to say it in---Kanpai, Cheers, Hooray, or Good On YA ----The Majestic Roof Garden Hotel is a winner.

The playground and videogame consoles…read moresituated at the back of the restaurant suggest that this is the perfect venue for functions and special events for large groups of children. Thank God there's a bar at the other end! The menu is simple and doesn't deviate far from what you'd expect at any pub. Schnitzels, steaks and French fries are the kinds of things these guys do well. Carvery and buffet are also available, but almost make the restaurant feel like an RSL club. It does, however, mean that there is something for everybody here: a la carte for the adults, carvery for the elderly and all-you-can-eat dessert for the kids. The same goes for entertainment - the playground and videogames will occupy the kids for hours, whilst sports games are shown at the bar nearby, including pokies and Keno for the gambling type. I respect that it isn't overly ambitious and isn't trying to be something that it's not. It caters to all ages in a pretty standard way, and does so without worry of disappointment. If you're not hosting a children's birthday party or just heading in for a quick drink or gamble, then you're better off finding something a little more exciting elsewhere.

This budget hotel is a great way to get easy accommodation in Adelaide and at just a tad more than…read more$20, it is cheap too. Rooms are rather basic yet will do for basic backpackers and a spot to rest. Each room has a small single bed and they are somewhat comfortable. If you are use to hotel beds then these should not be too bad however getting comfy may take a little while. It's not too noisy and towels and linen are provided. Staff and reception appear to be somewhat friendly and approachable and overall, the place doesn't look that bad. I guess this is really a matter of, you get what you pay for. Toilets are unisex as are the shower blocks. There are no kitchens or any fancy features in rooms. Everything is basic and communal, hence why it is probably best for a one night stay. Showers are quite poor though and temperature fine tuning can take six minutes. The showers are also very slippery and the locks on the doors do not work well. Rooms are set out with basic facilities, like a wardrobe, shelf, chair, bin, mirror, drawers, window and heater, however do not expect any luxuries or deluxe features. This is probably the best resort to last minute accommodation in Adelaide without busting the wallet too far open.

I always mix business and pleasure when I travel. My room here was delightful. Large main room, separate bedroom. Bathroom down the hall. Much larger than a normal hotel room. Kitchenette with fridge and microwave. I would have preferred a work table, but the bar-height workspace was large and worked very well. The overall feel was extremely comfortable and it was easy to just settle in and feel at home. The staff were great, especially at the bar. Bar/dining area opens to the sidewalk seating. In October the weather was pretty perfect. It took me a full day to understand the bartending staff. The Adelaide accent is a bit stronger than Melbourne or Sydney. But they are very patient with Americans who ask for everything to be repeated three times. I stayed four nights and had an excellent experience. Would recommend it and would stay here again.

Before any other Yelpers start waxing on about their opinion compared to mine, yes there are some nice places, but I think in the city the nicest places are the historical ones that have been made over - until you stay over at Mantra you can't compare. Big rooms, very lush, plush and highly relaxing. Of course you pay a high price, but compared to other capital cities the price is relatively good; it is high for Adelaide. But expect great service plus, and great rooms plus, and you may be visiting, but end up staying in your room the whole time you are here, because it is nice.

The times I have been there I just haven't been able to scooch into my happy place. But I will give all of you fellow Yelpers out there this promise....I will try again and again!

Which I did! The Tap Inn had become old and staid and lacking atmosphere save for their Tuesday quiz nights which were great fun. Bring on The Jungle! The new theme throughout is wonderful with palm trees, a massive gorilla, a reasonably sized elephant, vines, tunnels and surprises around every corner. The owners have done a great job in pre-creating the atmos before you've even had your first drink! Talking of which, there's an amazing array of beers, wines and champagnes available, and at prices that won't cause you to 'go ape'. Each of the bars is well stocked and they have a wonderful range of beer on tap as well as the traditional imports. The food is nothing short of spectacular! Their new Argentinian rotisserie is something to behold, and the meat that comes from it is a melt-in-the-mouth experience to delight every palate! There are over 80 'swords' that gently turn on the spit, cooking an incredible feast of meats and seafood. The Head Chef Praveen is a genius! The meat is provided by their own in-house butcher Michael, who is 'on display' as he cuts the various offerings. The menu is comprehensive, exciting and again, well priced. I even went there for Christmas Lunch which was an all you can eat delight. At $95 per head I expected a great deal - and I wasn't disappointed!! The staff are unbelievably friendly in each of their fantastic bars. They go out of their way to help and serve you with a constant smile on their faces. They are everywhere too - no need to wait an hour to be served here! My favourite of all the bars is the Rooftop. On a balmy evening it's open to the skies and stars with plenty of seating available. You can even have a game of Jungle Bocce if you're pissed enough! Just as an added bonus - if you're desperate for the loo - why use the stairs to get there when you can slide down one of the fun jungle slides! The Crafty Monkey bar on the ground floor has free fresh nuts (I know, right?), and is where you can enjoy their Happy Hour! All in all, I'm deeply impressed with the new Kent Town Hotel. I've spent many wonderful evenings there and intend to spend many more. Finally Adelaide has a new and exciting venue to crow about so let's hope that the powers that be ensure that it stays fresh. Well done to Paul, Kendel and all concerned!
