Always a hit with kids! We come here for the parties. I'm sure it's just as fun as a play date/weekday jump session. A 2 hour party for 25 kids costs $345.00 for a weekend party. Includes pizza and pop. The party is jumping first for 1 hour and 15 minutes. They start in room A and then to room B. The two rooms have different inflatables. The first room has a huge bubble machine. The second room has a floor video game. The 45 minutes at the end is rounding up the kids into the party room to eat, look at pictures on the TV that the workers take via digital camera, and open presents. Service is ok. Employees are young people. Some are teenagers. So their service isn't above and beyond par. They get the party scheduled and moving. I do like this place compared to other competitors. The difference is that they know how to schedule the kids and move them along. It's easy to maneuver and not as chaotic when there are multiple parties going on. No idea how they clean the place in between parties. (Hopefully they DO clean...???) But we recommend Pump it Up. read more

I took my little man to a birthday party here today and I was definitely impressed. This place is a lot like Monkey Joes and The Playground in Ankeny. It is like Monkey Joes in that it is all inflatables. It is like The Playground in that it has different rooms with the play equipment in it. Of the three places mentioned I'd have to say I like this place the best. The facility has two big rooms and the two rooms have 6 inflatables total with three in each room. I posted pics of some of the inflatables. The big plus is that they have changed out and updated the inflatables unlike Monkey Joes who has had the same inflatables for years. Outside of the inflatables the rooms also have some small toys to play with and one room has a game that is broadcast onto the floor that the kids can stomp around on. As far as the birthday party went it was pretty cool. They start you out in one room for a set amount of time then move you to the second room for a set amount of time. Finally they move you into a party room for cake and presents. There were two people attached to the group and one person seemed to lead. He took pictures throughout the party and had them playing on a TV at the end. He also took notes and wrote down who gave what presents. All in all I'd definitely recommend Pump It Up for your kiddos and parties. read more

[PRIVATE PARTY] I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. My experience here was terrible and not what we expected especially for the PRICE we PAID. My family and guests felt UNWELCOMED and were made UNCOMFORTABLE, therefore EMBARRASING us as "hosts". There was a lack of communication, and everything seemed very unorganized. I used this place for my kids birthday party. They do an excellent job! They handle everything from the minute you walk in. Very organized and your party is private so the kids enjoy all of the inflatables. They cut the cake, served it, packed up the presents and loaded the car. Easiest birthday party ever! read more

Pump it up is a great place to have a child's birthday party. Reason why: 1. Private party - only invited guests from your party is in the room 2. Staff take photos for you so you don't have to worry about it 3. Staff take care of set up, serving food and clean up! 4. Inflatables are fun the adults too! So bring socks adults! read more

I've worked here part-time since September of 2014 so I guess you need to take this review with a grain of salt. But as a Dad I've taken my two youngest children here to open jumps and birthday parties for long before that. The one thing that stands out to me is the ability for a party to be only friends and family. To not have to deal with the general public during your event... No place is perfect, but speaking as a Dad I've had much better experiences at PIU than at Monkey Joe's and Chuck E. Cheese. When utter chaos ensues with 10+ 4-8 yr olds running around you don't want to have to worry about strangers' kids being in the mix too. As an employee...if you have a bad experience I would encourage you to talk to management to try to resolve the problem. While not every situation can be "fixed" I can tell you that the owner genuinely cares about her clients and I've seen her bend over backwards on several occasions, when things have went less than perfect, to make it right. read more

We went for glow in the dark jump. My son was the only one there. He had fun. My complaint is only 1/2 of the time was actually glow in the dark. I wasn't aware of that. read more

We typically love pump it up and have been to many glow nights and a Halloween event. Today's New Year's Eve event was a bit nutty for my 3 year old. I'd recommend a toddler only event(I'd pay double for this) or decreasing the number of kids. It was hard to keep track in the chaos and my little was knocked down several times. read more

The actual facility is merely ok. They charge additional money for use of air hockey in the playrooms and I did not feel that the cleanliness was up to par. More importantly, management did not seem to care about the kids or their welfare. Seemed to me that they were very concerned about getting their money AND having waivers of liability signed, but not about the experience they delivered. In the end, I felt that this Pump-It-Up location lacked any real caring about the kids... just another money grabbing business that uses kids to line their pockets. I will never return. read more

I am sick to my stomach. My precious 5 year old grandson was thrilled to attend a friends birthday party at Pump It Up today. When his dad went to pick him up at 2 p.m. per the time on the invitation, he could not find my grandson. After several minutes elapsed, he found his child huddled in a corner, crying. He had been left behind, alone. Everyone else had left. When the owner of Pump It Up was asked how this could happen, her response was, "He looked six or seven. We are not responsible. The parents of the birthday child are responsible." When I think of the things that could have happened to this little boy, it makes me furious at the at the lack of consideration from the owner. If all you care about is money DO NOT have a business that caters to children! Pump It Up IS NOT a safe place for children. I decided to use this venue as my daughter's 7th birthday party. Due to "time constraints" she was unable to open her presents in the party room. We had to open them outside. Staff told me my party would end at 4:50 (verified this time 3 different times) we were ushered out at 4:20. Paid for a balloon drop, the employees tried to make the children pick up the balloons and put them in garbage bags. I told them no and I helped while the children played. I paid $400 for this party. Emailed the owner, she offered me a $50 credit on my next party. I emailed her back to tell her the probability of that happening was slim to none and to credit my debit card. Well we were impressed with the place until the staff's time management error left my friend's son only getting to open a few of his presents and then his mother getting rudely told that she would have to pay more if he wanted to finish opening his gifts there. They gave the group much less than the hour-alotted time to have cake and open gifts. Staff was packing stuff up before everyone even got ice cream. I know staffhave a tough job, but what was supposed to be a wonderful, carefree time for the birthday boy and his mom ended up with her having to explain that everyone needed to leave quickly. Best place to go! They have a parents night out which I went to last month. I dropped off my two kids for 4 hours and they got pizza lemonade and did a cute craft. It was only 20.00 per kid. I can't get a babysitter for that!!! Love it! I'm doing it every month now! read more

This is not a great place for birthday parties across the board. In a word, it was stressful for my husband and I! I have read on Yelp that the owner, (also the manager) has a background in accounting and formal business operations and it seems that while she may have the ability to run a business like PUMP IT UP, she certainly doesn't have the personality. My perception was that she was unfriendly, unpleasant and inflexible in accommodating us. Because our child has severe food allergies that make him very sick, we were not able to purchase their pizza and drink products. I wanted to make my own pizzas to serve but this was NOT permitted. We understood that veggies and fruit were allowed, which we brought along in ziplocs and freezer bags to keep them fresh. When I told her that I wanted to set things up in a fun way for the kids (veggies flower pots and dip and rainbow fruit skewers with chocolate strawberries... all prepared but needing to be set up), she insisted that I wait until a worker arrived to set up the room. I quietly complied while slowly watching the time disappear. When the owner finally allowed me to have access to my food bags, I had 15 mins out of a 2 hour period to get things together). It was extremely stressful and unpleasant. I brought along all natural juice boxes for the children and she insisted that I was NOT to serve them!! (It was also against their policy and that we would have to purchase from the company). We ended up putting them in the childrens' goody bags for the ride home. During the entire party, the children wondered why there were no drinks!!! I could have purchased water from the company but was so upset with everything, it seemed against my principles to give them any more of our business. For a party that cost over $200.00 for a party of 12 children, we were very disappointed with the outcome and with the fact that our child's dietary needs meant nothing whatsoever to PUMP IT UP, and if anything it stressed my husband and I out to the point that we didn't even enjoy watching our child have fun with his little friends on his 7th birthday. Bottom line, be prepared to be nickeled and dimed to death!! and treated like they really don't care if you have a wonderful day celebrating your child's birthday. I would never recommend this spot for parents with special needs kids. read more
