Do not recommend parents to sign up their child to this school. It all starts from the top …read more. administration is horrible, will not take the time to speak to you about a concern. Promises to get back to you at a specific timely matter only to not give you answers. Even after trying to reach out to them, and showing up to the school that your child's goes to (Manatee Charter) they are quick to consider parents trespassing. Not every child is disciplined equally. They're quick to suspend children without reaching out to parents about on an incident that occurred the day of but will get in contact with parents several days after. No classroom structure. Teachers do not communicate well with parents! My child fell behind on a week's worth of work because the teacher will not include us on the classroom email . I even sent messages on dojo and on students planner about it was told that the test wouldn't count. Our biggest concern was not the test, but the fact that our child wouldn't fall behind amongst the rest of the students. The school over all is not organized. Students are not being monitored, they're roaming around school grounds. They're short staffed. Several parents were shocked on how many staff's they had this school year 2023-2024 compare to last school years. The school is now on principle #2. Several of us parents were told from former employees to have our kids removed from this school asap, we wished we would have done it sooner.

I would give zero stars but that's not an option so one has to do. I went to the school when I was…read morein kindergarten up until I was in the third grade, it was good my first two years but when I got to second and third it got really bad. Their food was always undercooked. It was full on disgusting. The teachers and the staff were so disrespectful and rude for no apparent reason. the bathrooms and classrooms were always dirty. It was just an overall really bad school. also when I left in the third grade, the school was at a -D grade, so I don't think that made it any better.

Thank you to Smarty Pants Preschool for taking care of both of my babies! One from 13 weeks to VPK,…read moreand most recently my daughter at 4 months. There's not many people I trust and I'm so thankful for Jillian Hernandez, her family, Lauren Nicole, Makaela Redmond, and all of the SP teachers! Thank you from Chloe, our littlest smarty pants! In regards to the negative review, it is common place for many daycares to follow even school calendars. The practice of having the school close so that the staff can celebrate holidays with their own family is well known in advance and practical for keeping happy teachers for decades. Smarty Pants stayed open for me and my family during COVID lockdown so that we could work. Tuition is paid for closed holidays so that staff can be paid. I completely disagree with the one star review listed here. You pay for the quality of care you receive.

Steer clear! We enrolled our two-year-old here 10 months ago, and we have had numerous issues with…read moreJillian (one of the owners). Anytime we have brought up a question or a concern, her immediate response was to threaten to "release us" from our contract; basically, if you don't like the way she does something, she has no interest in discussing it and would be happy to leave your child without daycare (obviously, any place good has a waiting list). Which is exactly what happened to our family a couple of weeks ago. The facility electively closed the entire week of Thanksgiving and still charged tuition, and I questioned the fairness of that closure and payment: see the attached photos. Smarty Pants cashed our post-dated check a week early, "released us from our contract" the next day, and will not return our NUMEROUS attempts to reach them about why they won't return $275 they took from us. There is rapid turnover with the teachers, as well. Jillian acts like they run a non-profit and is constantly asking for "donations" (we spent $150 on our child's back-to-school supplies). Everything about this place is a money-grab, and there is no true relationship with families.

At first glance I loved the school. I loved the big classrooms and combined grades and the fact…read morethat they offered education through high school. But after having my children in the school for a year I was greatly disappointed. The teachers are very sweet especially in lower elementary but I feel like my children learned almost nothing. They complained that the classroom was noisy and it was hard to concentrate. There was zero emphasis on classical literature, somehow, reading "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" qualifies as sufficient for their classroom literature. The kids sat on the floor all day and my children complained that their backs were hurting. Many of the classic Montessori manipulatives were rarely used. There was no music class. Rarely did they do art. My children, even the upper elementary child, never brought home home-work. The Christmas program was honestly the most atrocious thing I have ever seen. The children stood outside in mosquito infested grounds for an hour in shepherds costumes and literally did nothing but stand there as props while the principal and pastor relived their fantasies of being stars and sang all the songs. There was open fire in the torches and straw everywhere. I was on the edge of my seat as children filed closely past the open flame. I just knew any moment the whole stage was going up in flames including baby Jesus, who was a real newborn. I honestly almost stood up and said something in the middle of the show it was so nerve racking. This school needs to put the children's safety before their own desire of having their own personal American Idol for themselves. In that moment, I realized, if this huge issue is an oversight, then what about all the smaller things. I feel like this is a terrible place if you want your kids to get a good education. If you are just wanting somewhere to stick your kids where they learn about the Bible, but education or safety is not a priority, then by all means, spend the $11,000 per student to send them there. I feel like i really got ripped off. I feel like my children are no more educated than they were a year ago, in fact, I feel like they actually regressed.
