When I found out that the Pictured Rocks paddling company offered free dog kenneling for it's customers, however, entailed just a crate (unlocked) in an unsheltered outdoor space with no employee taking the dog out, no dog walks, no feeding or watering [I have a puppy], I had to look for alternate day-boarding. We found Puppy Paws just 10 minutes or so away from our paddle excursion meeting point, so we boarded our 2 dogs for the day. From the outside you would never guess how charming it is on the inside. They have top-quality food, toys, & grooming available. I was in a hurry & couldn't locate my dog's papers from our vet back home listing their vaccination record. Puppy Paws was totally cool about it & calling our vet for it. We were supposed to be back by 6pm (closing time). The Paddling Michigan Company stranded us for an hour & 40 min. (that's a different review!) & I completely panicked, esp about my 12-wk old puppy. Once we got access to cell service (about 5:50pm), we called Puppy Paws to let them know what was going on. They said to just come when we could, they would remain open. When we got there they were all closed except for the front intake area. I looked down & there was my older dog just chillin' out with them on the floor, & my puppy was being cuddled in the arms of a female employee (I think she is one of the owners). They gave us advice on what else to see while in the Munising area, with regards to pet-friendly excursions. As I was leaving, she said to me, "Thank YOU for bringing your dogs here today." I just love this place. read more
