I agree - this is hands-down, the best dog park in the city. None of the snootiness of Wiggly Field, and much cleaner and bigger. I second the recommendation to bring water in the winter - we try to bring extra when we remember (occasionally bringing a gallon jug of water for the other dogs, etc), as well as bringing extra plastic bags to leave behind and sometimes tennis balls (although the park seems to be extra well stocked with them lately). In general, a great clientele. You do get the occasional person who has no idea how to deal with their (or other) dogs - my favorite (although it's sad) are the people who yell at their dog for wrestling with another dog...poor things. No wonder your dog is timid and anti-social. Dogs play! It's what they do. Let them play.

Overall, nice park in the neighborhood if you live close. Rather small with asphalt and little trees but they always have a small pool for dogs and running water. One minus - park is usually occupied with small dogs and their owners can be really unpleasant if you come with a big dog. If you have time - dog beach is a much nicer place)

Shade & water & sprinkler & leash coat hook, so 4 stars. Bring bags to donate. Worth the 15 - 20 minute trip.

Before I started participating in mail-in voting, I always popped into this location. I remembered it because the participatory budgeting was held here too. But somebody is going nuts with stealing from our nearest mailbox, so the Board of Elections getting this ward's mail-in ballots may be a lost cause. Although this park nor the board of elections can control a mail thief, they can control early voting locations. As a former election judge, key judge and cell phone judge, I know how much location matters to get people to vote. And I can't for the life of me understand why this isn't still one of the voting locations. It was easy to get to; roomy; has a dog park and an Amazon locker pickup; is in a spacious and family-friendly area; and even has been a place for day campers. I saw a field full of school desks and tables, so I'm guessing they were having summer school or some kind of very studious summer game. White (Willye B.) Park does not compare to this location. My ballot got lost in the mail (or the mail thief is at it again), so I have to return there for early voting. But I really wish THIS location was open again. It's even close to major grocery stores (Jewel) and convenience stores (Walgreens). I cannot think of a more convenient location to vote! Bring early voting back here again. I miss it.

The beach is a tiny little patch of sand that people bring their pooches to so they can socialize w/their doggie friends and go swimming. Because of the high lake levels most of the dog beach is under water. You can still see the sand but only a small portion remains above the water level. This really doesn't seem to bother the dogs or their owners as they still come. While the dogs are swimming and playing in the waters the owners are socializing. Its nice to have this but only a small portion remains.

You also have to scan your card when you enter in the park so you pretty see the same folks. I love the fact that they have a smaller area for the smaller guys only and people who have small dogs take this very seriously. It's nice to have an area dedicated to the small pooches without fearing a big pup attack. They also have grass which is huge and saves pup's paw pads! Areas of improvement is that they need to clean the park more frequent than they do. There is often poop in the park that of course should be owner responsibility to clean it but the park should do its job to clean the park daily. They should also actively replenish poop bags. All in all, I'm pretty happy my dog has his social club to meet up with his friends for pup hour.
