    Paper mache marigold

This store is so beautiful! Huge selection of things from all over and everything is sooo beautiful! I've come here to past 2 Novembers for the paper mache marigolds for día de los muertos! The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable about where everything is from. You have to check out this place if you're in NODA!

Beautiful shop with Bohemian likes and worldly charm. Support other countries with handmade items such as earrings, handbags, dresses, and home decor. Sage for burning, singing bowls, body oil, and other spiritual items inside. Wish I knew about this place before. Hidden gem of Charlotte!

Super cute shop! We were walking by to head on over to Smelly Cat and the window display caught our eye. They had a ton of awesome and unique cards hanging in the window, definitely way better their your standard Hallmark greeting. When we went in they had quite the eclectic mix of items from jewelry, to clothing, books, to baby shoes. It does really seem like a great spot if you are looking for a gift and not sure what to buy. We loved the variety of children's books they had, super diverse and really what you should be seeing at all book stores. The prices weren't cheap, but they weren't outrageous for a locally owned boutique shop either. Really great spot to wander around in and pick up some unique holiday gifts!

Such a cute place! My daughter saw a bracelet she wanted so we decided to pop in. The lady was so helpful. I didn't get her name but she was older and so sweet. She explained to us what each bracelet meant and helped my daughter find the best one for her.

If you have ever doubted the richness and authenticity of Mexican culture you should take a gander in Pure Vida. There are many great pieces of art dedicated to the Mexican Day of the Dead; I loved the bathroom mirror enclosed in dancing and playing skeletons. I just don't think it would match the décor of my very American bathroom. The store clerk, Alina, let my nephew and I know that over forty countries are represented in the store. Books pay homage to artists like Frida and Riveria. There is also a gypsy lounge in the back that holds concerts every Sunday afternoon at 2:00pm. Next week will be an instrumental band called Actual Proof. They will be serving up some jazz and funk flavors equipped with strings and xylophones. Before entering the gypsy lounge, there is an art exhibit. One photo of a lonely man playing an accordion on the street really struck my fancy. Everything in the store is Fair Trade besides the literature. The store is a sweet surprise, because the gifts it has to offer are ambiguous from the street corner.

This gift shop is very eclectic. I was looking for a belt and the choices were a bit limited. What they did have were very unique. I always enjoy the selection of clothing. It is very colorful. They do carry some adorable children's items. They have original art work as well.

I love skulls and skeletons, so I'm thrilled to have a shop that specializes in Day of the Dead gear. It's a pretty small store, but it's the kind of place where you can spend hours and hours exploring. I hit Pura Vida hard when I was getting stuff to decorate my Zen Den in my house. They have a wide selection of spiritual goodies, from Tibetan prayer flags to meditation gongs to all kinds of incense and candles and such. It's the best place in town to find the materials you'll need to get in touch with your inner goddess. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, which is impressive in a place with so much stuff. It would be forgivable if they didn't know the stories behind everything, but I've found that they know a lot, and they're eager to share. I wish we had more places like this one in Charlotte!

Cute place. The employees are very friendly and inviting. However the prices of their products are extremely ridiculous !

Teresa responded very quickly and confirmed that they had the hat in stock and sent a couple of other options as well.

The…read moretrunk shows typically take place at local venues like Common Market in South End or twenty-two in Plaza Midwood. Clothing prices start at just $4 and most pieces are well under $20. You'll score vintage dresses, designer coats and just about every accessory you can imagine. But it's not just just shopping ... it's an experience. The Urban Gypsy shows usually have a DJ on site as well as hula hoopers, tarot card readers, stylists and more. It's such a fun way to spend the afternoon and you'll end up walking out with new wardrobe necessities for just a few bucks. These trunks shows are ones you really do not want to miss. To find out about future events, like 'Urban Gypsy Resale Trunk Show' on Facebook. The shows are held all over, from Savannah to Asheville but the owner is based in Charlotte and typically has at least one show here per season.

It was quite on the small side though. Smaller than I expected. Prices were great and they would give you a discount if you danced. LOL. I only ended up getting a couple of scarves. $1 each. Whoa! There was also tarot card reading and henna application. I think there was something else, as well, that I can't remember. My friend got her hand henna'd. Cute experience, just wish they had more!

I have mixed emotions about this place. I walk past it EVERY day on the way to work and I eyeball…read morethe items in the windows. If it's cute...I make a mental note....if I gasp...I'll walk in and usually will not purchase because they won't have my size. grr. I have to get a dress in a size large in everything so it won't look like a micro mini on my long legs. And Larges tend to fly off the shelves. Lets face it....I'm not 20 anymore and I shouldn't be in a micro anything. I'm all woman..hear me roar. I think this location is a little bit "hipper" than the other location that is in the South Park area next to WS. That location has some of the same pieces but I've been in there and the items would def appeal to the older crowd (40's) and then made mid 20s. Today..... Uptown location made me proud. I had my eye on a Chevron Black and White LONG maxi skirt that was at another boutique in dilworth. I called them and they sold out in about a week. *tears* of sadness. Oh WAIT...I thought to myself...I think Ivy & Leo had the same skirt....I'll check on Monday. Walked in today with a coworker and I couldn't find it on the rack. *tears of sadness* I browse the sale rack as I morn in silence. My coworker said "is this it". A light from heaven shown down with all it's glory as she held up my beloved chevron black and white maxi skirt. "YES" and I snatched it. Thank the good Lord it was a large. I would have probably bought it anyway if it were a small and squeezed my thick'um thighs in it. (Don't judge...you know you've done that before). Here's where I get irritated. I'm happy and I asked the sales girl to hold it for me as I need to go back and get my wallet. I could have sworn she rolled her eyes in her head and I politely said that I would be back...no need to worry. She just grabbed it and said "Name?" wow....someone's got the Monday blues. So I went back and the OTHER nicer girl helped me. Anyway..that's my story. Check it out. It's a trendy little place and dangerous for me as it's on my way to work....blah. I have a shopping problem.
