This is a relatively new coffee shop in the South Bay. I love going to coffee shops so I knew about this place earlier. The ambiance is nice and warm, with leather seats and stylish furniture. What I like most about this place is their signature coffee list. They make these incredible concoctions of coffee- based drinks but with interesting ingredients. The ingredients are all complementary to each other, so the drinks turn out good and not strange tasting. My favorite is the cardigan with pistachio milk. I tried cafe miel, which the baristas recommended. It has honey and cinnamon. While it was good but the flavors were not as bold as I expected. I haven't tried their pastries. The items on the menu, both coffee and food, are on the pricey side, but it you are looking for good coffee with a nice ambiance, this fits the bill! I go here a few times a month to try different drinks on their menu and to read or work on my laptop. It gets crowded from 1-4 pm, so finding a seat might be tricky. Stopped by this place to meet a friend and grab some coffee. I was delighted that my friend picked a place that was not Starbucks. This is a really cute place and looks like it is a fairly new place. Went there on a Friday morning and was very crowded. There is both indoor and outdoor seating, so easy to find some seating. The coffee is decent. But be prepared to wait if you are used to Starbucks efficiency. Not sure if they are still trying to get in the groove or if they were short staffed, but could not help notice how long I had to wait after ordering for coffee. This is a very cute coffee shop and I like that they ground the beans in a separate machine and pack it to pull the espresso shots for each drink. i've been to pure bean twice & both have been great times! this location is in a small plaza so there is plenty of parking. i've been here in the afternoons and it can get a bit crowded. there's a few seats and tables outside. the inside is very spacious and welcoming. i decided to go in to try a new seasonal drink i saw online. i got there excited to try the blueberry matcha. unfortunately they didn't have the blueberry syrup but the cashier was so sweet and recommended me some other options. i just went with an iced vanilla matcha and i also bought a sticker as well. my total came out to $8. i found a seat while waiting less than 5 minutes for my drink. it was delicious. i recommend ordering that drink with oat milk. although i do love this coffee shop, the first time i came i wasn't too big of a fan of their chai, but maybe i'll give it another shot. i definitely am going to return to try the blueberry matcha. it's very roomy and not too loud in the shop. there's a few pastry options as well as a variety of coffee bean bags to buy. i'd give pure bean a 10/10 and think that everyone should try this place read more

I paid $17 for a large coffee with oatmilk and a cup of chia seed pudding. That's ridiculous. I just did it and stayed for the workspace. The breakfast burrito was out of stock and I was having a nice chat with the cashier about things and the manager invited himself to the conversation. I could tell the cashier felt as awkward about it as I did. I saw this place on my way to the airport and thought maybe this would be some new delicious coffee I need to start my day. Got there and noticed the place is very nice and esthetically appealing. When i got to the counter, I asked if they had something "like" a cold caramel macchiato. The barista/cashier responded saying something like "this is not McDonald's or Starbucks "are you looking for a cold brew and I could add some cream or whole milk? " I was puzzled wondering why he thought I was looking for McDonald's or Starbucks as I obviously came in to this place to try out their coffee. So I think he was trying to embarrass me and my wife for simple request. As he threw back his long hair and looked at the other customer for their reaction to his weird comment he seemed irritated that we were asking for a caramel iced macchiato. I don't know if he was having a bad day but definitely that was a bad first impression. I bought two coffees and a cinnamon muffin total was something like $22 as my wife decided to tip him. Hoping to make his day better. I specifically asked for no ice , she asked for light ice. I don't know if he was offended by the two dollar tip or this was his way of pushing us out. But Not only was our coffee filled to the top with ice, but they had to push it down with the lid. This place is called pure Bean. It was more like Pure Ice , Pure attitude,Pure lack of respect. PBMB is a safe haven for espresso lovers, remote workers, and socialites. The drinks are fantastic and made with precision and care. It doesn't matter which barista makes it, each of them really put their all into each drink they pour. And the aesthetic of this place is so warm, hip, and inviting. I like to sit at the bar for a couple of hours, get some work done, drink a whole French Press (made with their signature "Golden Bear" beans) and take in the sweet scent of fresh espresso and pour over coffee. The food here has improved steadily over the last couple months. They now offer breakfast burritos which are unusually gigantic for a coffee shop burrito. That's not a complaint btw, I'm still stuffed from the burrito I had there three hours ago. This place has the potential to franchise in the future, as long as they keep the same great drinks, aesthetic, food, and selection of employees. This should be my last review since I do not plan to frequent this business anymore. They cater to a certain demographic and I am not part of that demographic. Still some great things: - coffee and creativity of some of the prepared drinks - some of staff - they take cash - inside is pleasant and comfortable The bad: - some staff are terrible and as staff turnover has happened recently it is noticeably getting worse over the dozens of times I have been here. None can adequately or maybe they are unwilling to address issues I have in store. The only time I got any assistance or resolution was after posting a negative review here. All they say is that there is nothing they can do about the wifi and their rewards program not crediting. - decisions by management like the rewards system turnover. It was a debacle and I have lost faith. You would lose everything at the end of the month with little warning? I only heard about it from two staff members over the more than a dozen times I went there and I did not see signs about it. I heard other customer complaining about it, too. I didn't even lose any rewards on this and it pissed me off. That I commented on this and Fritz did not want to compensate for missing rewards is telling. I wouldn't have taken it anyways since I didn't lose anything on the switch. I would have liked some for the several rewards that have just never registered with my account both before and after the switch. - no bike parking close to the store. The location is just the typical ugly South Bay LA car-centric strip mall. Management could bring it up to their landlord. Other businesses I know have taken a proactive approach to this. - this location is a hub for many religious individuals, many who seem culty and I see being friendly with the management. The management even says they are a "Christian business" so even though they may not be part of a "cult," there is an atmosphere about it. Some of the things I have overheard here have given me pause. They even have a bible study at the store after hours. - numerous cops will come here and they leave their big SUVs idling in the parking lot for the entire 30+ mins they are at this location. I realize this isn't necessarily the cause of the store, but adds to the iffy vibe - continuing spotty wifi - everything is too expensive, although the coffee and the majority of their prepared drinks are worth it. I know several stores in the area with better prices and better atmosphere. I have opened up my direct messages since that seems to have caused some grievance with the owner (didn't even know that was a setting), but at this point, I am finished with this place. Been here about five times and the drinks are fine but on my latest visit the dude with the LONG HAIR had a level of arrogance only befitting the second coming of Jesus himself. I asked for a pour over and didn't know which I wanted and he walked over slowly to the options and just put his hand up towards them with no words. Won't be coming back again. If u see him be prepared to be made to feel like a burden. Don't forget why you have a job here! The customers! I have very mixed feelings about this place. I will start off by saying the place is nice, the drinks I've tried have been really good, and the employees have been very friendly! My concern is the man who I assume is the owner or manger who is constantly hovering over the employees with a harsh intensity. Maybe this sounds like an odd thing to complain about but one of things I love about coffee shops is the laid back and welcoming atmosphere. This is not the feeling you get when you walk in and see this man staring down the employees who are clearly doing their best and making very tasty drinks. I noticed this the first time I came in and thought maybe it was a fluke, but I've been in 4 times since and have observed this every time. Employees are you good? When this place first opened, my husband and I would come here about once or twice a week for some drinks. I've had a few of the pastries as well and overall, the fare is pretty good. Prices are comparable to your standard coffee shop. The workers are very friendly and the shop itself is always clean with simple but nice decor. It can get pretty crowded quickly but the vibe stays mellow from what I've seen. Of all the times we've been there, I've only had to wait over 20 minutes once for a drink. I'm a pretty patient person so I didn't mind, more worried that they accidentally skipped my order. When I checked in with them, they kindly reassured me it was all good but the wait would be longer than usual due to high volume. We don't come here as often just because the costs of a weekly visit can add up but it's a great place to get some coffee or tea and hang out. read more
