I was reassured that this would not happen. The girls at Hibrows were very nice and accomodating and the threading turned out very nice. I was very happy with the overall outcome for the first 3 days. After that, however, I have started noticing that the eyebrow hairs on one eyebrow were starting to curl. After waiting for a bit I have contacted Hibrows and was offered a second appointment and one of my eyebrows was laminated again. I was told the hairs were too short during the first lamination, but that was not the case in my view as the curled hairs were mostly quite long. One day after the lamination the eyebrow looked exactly the same again. Unfortunately the CHF 100 lamination was not worth it and left my eyebrows looking worse. The result does not last for 4-6 weeks as advertised (maybe two weeks). That said, I would come back for threading.

Two to three years ago, I ventured into Microblading as the thought of waking up with perfect brows sounds super appealing to me. I lived in Asia back then and had it done at one of the local salons. The results were just meh and more importantly: the color disappeared faster than I can finish an eyebrow pencil so I quickly resorted back to my gazillion brow products. Fast forward to about 3 months ago: I started looking at Instagram accounts for inspiration on good brow shapes and started playing around with the idea to give Microblading another shot. I looked for weeks on several insta accounts (read: I insta-stalked them) and decided that I liked Hibrows best. So when I finally decided to give it a go, I tried making an appointment and discovered there was a almost 3 month waiting list. Although this gave me more confidence (not all these people can be wrong, right?) it also made me reconsider because I am a quite impatient person. However, I visited the website a couple more times and suddenly discovered a free slot the next week so I snapped it up and took the plunge! I arrived at the white and clean studio, which was a relief as I've seen a few unprofessional looking studios in my neighborhood. More importantly, the brow artist Yasmine is such a sweetie she is highly professional and explains the process clearly. She managed to calm my nerves and was to give answer my questions. She spent a good amount of time listening to my preferences and drawing up the shape of my brows. When I saw her proposal I was immediately more convinced, it already looked great just pencilled in. The microblading process was quite different from my other experiences: first go is without no numbing, which to be honest with you, is not very pleasant at all but it is bearable. After that Yasmine applies numbing cream and I only felt a minor scratching sensation. The whole process was quicker than I thought and somehow I was calmer than I expected. After the AMAZING reveal, Yasmine provided clear instructions for after care and I am extremely happy with my brows after they healed, they look amazing. I will certainly go back to Hibrows when it is time for touch-ups. I had my brows shaped by Anastasia (yes - the one from Anastasia Beverly Hills) and I can say that the results from Yasmine at HiBrows are better. She is the best brow artist I've ever met, she's truly a gem!

And in an act of selflessness and only for you Qyper out there, I went to get two treatments here. So that I cannot only write about the shop and the design, but about price and services. The shop itself is located close to the Börse/Selnau and is a bit unremarkable from the outside. That they are doing reconstructing work on the building does not help. I do agree with Sam55 that the ladies are really nice. This is however not worth a point. Because in this business it's not so much about how nice the people are, but how well the service is they "deliver". It's about value for money. And this is not perfect here. A (quick) Pedicure with polish for 80 CHF. Yes, price-wise ok, but the result was not much better than when I do it myself. The facial treatment, which was planned for 90 minutes, only lasted 50 minutes (ok I was late too), but still ... I had to pay the full price. And suddenly 150 CHF was quite a lot of money. Conclusion: I won't come again. There are too many small beauty shop in Zurich, waiting for my money.

Found this place via a Groupon deal. Only CHF 79 for two dental cleanings instead of regular price…read moreof CHF 374! That's only CHF 39.50 each!! There was also an option for only one cleaning at CHF 49 instead of 187. But of course I couldn't pass up the 2x deal. You can't even get a deal like that in the U.S. Plus, it's only a 5 minute walk from where I am currently working, so I was in and out and back to work in exactly one hour. Awesome. They were pretty packed when I called for an appointment last November, and the earliest they could get me in was the following February. The office is on the 1st floor and shared with several other dentists. I arrived right on time and only had to fill out a mini half-pager of personal info (instead of huge forms like in other offices). In fact, I didn't even fill out the whole thing, as I couldn't understand all of it in German and had to ask one of the ladies to translate. Hence, I only filled out the essential bits that she asked for. The waiting room was nice and bright with a coat tree and mirrored wall. I only had to wait a few minutes before my name was called. Shaila Bösch was the one who cleaned my teeth, and she did a thorough, yet gentle job with a very pleasant demeanor. Initial examination, then the pick/scraper thing with water attachment, followed by manual scraping alone, then floss, then the little bristle thing that goes between the teeth and gums, and then the polishing. Interspersed with plenty of rinsing, and she was also very good about the suction thing. I hate it when they don't use the suction thing enough and you get a pool of liquid in your mouth, or when they go crazy and suck your mouth dry instead. At the end, the flouride came in two flavors (I chose strawberry instead of peppermint) in gel form via a mouth tray. It was a bit different from my U.S. experience of squishing a liquid in my mouth, but still fine. Afterwards, I said I wanted to make my next appointment, and she mentioned in 9 months. Is that the Swiss way? As an American, I'm used to every 6 months, so now I'm already booked for August. :)

Not only…read morebecause I know the studio founder/manager (Sandy) since over 15 years, but also because my trust into the studio was on a very high level as I know that Sandy has not only held proof of over 15 years of experience, but also because she assisted in organizing several Mod Meetings and for sure also because she is leading her studio very successfully for 10 years! Naturally, I did not get disappointed. I've found myself in a studio where hygiene (thinking of COVID-19 here) is given the highest priority (and always had!) and, as well, they are always having a good company between employees and customer on a very courteous and professional level! For me, as an absolute piercing/tattoo novice, the consultancy was top! To that end, I can highly recommend the "True Body Art" studio to everyone! :-)

I had a wonderful haircut at McConnell by Dean in this English speaking salon. He and other…read morestylists are also trainers. Dean is like the best of the Vidal Sasson stylists we find in London. I find it is NOT easy getting a good cut in Switzerland. If you are near Zurich, this salon is highly recommended! Of course, the stylists speak German. I'm so pleased.
