I'll start from the positive details: the lady that did the scan was helpful and compassionate, good at her job, explaining well the results and what actions we can take afterwards, getting in touch with the midwife etc. Things we did not like: the waiting room is extremely hot! It was like you were above a bakery or something, they had the fan on but considering the fact that expectant mothers go there, I would expect a more relaxing environment. It was also kind of dark and not well lighted with only some floor lights in the corners. Our appointment was at 14:30 and we arrived promptly around 14:20. We were immediately told that there would be approximately 1 hour delay, and the secretary was not sure if this estimate would go up or down. She started asking us if we would like to reschedule for another day without even knowing first that we had come from Edinburgh for this particular appointment, which shows lack of preparation, I would say. I understand there can be delays, but considering again the targeted customers, I was expecting at least a phone call in advance to let us know the delay so that my 8 months' pregnant partner does not sit for long in an uncomfortable environment. We suggested waiting at the ground floor where the temperature was normal and the secretary would let us know when our time would come. The staff that did the scan was apologetic about the delay, which was a nice touch. Woud I go back? I would look for other places first, and would ask for the waiting area, possible delays, etc.

Original review: My test did not work due to there not being enough fetal DNA so I was rebooked to return after a 2 week holiday. Unfortunately, on return from our holiday we also had our 12 week scan repeated and at 15 weeks revealed that our baby had died. This was the day before I was to have bloods redrawn. When I contacted the clinic to cancel the appointment I was told there may be a fee for "clinic time". I was shocked to learn that they had deducted 75 pounds from my refund which they justified as the time spent for my initial blood draw. Considering I was in the clinic for no more than 5 minutes and then the test did not work I was shocked to be charged so much. It also added insult to injury that the clinic showed no compassion for my situation. I was canceling the redraw due to losing our baby. It is outrageous that they should have charged me anything for a service that they failed to provide under any circumstances, never mind the one I found myself in.

My appointment was on a Saturday, super early in the morning (8am) and I was able to get parking easy enough. It's free on the weekends which is a huge help as I had forgotten to bring cash with me that morning. Walking in, it was like a ghost town, but I was able to speak to the information desk personel and was pointed in the direction I needed to go. Since I was early, they were able to take me in before the person who was meant to be there but never showed up. Score. I was taken in to the MRI room by a really nice lady and was told exactly what was going to happen. After I was put in to place on the bed, I was asked if I wanted to listen to music since the machine is quite loud. Since it was around Christmas time when I was there, they had Christmas music to listen to which made my day. i was in and out of there in about 45 minutes, which wasn't too painfully slow. The staff here are really friendly and helpful and I didn't mind my visit in the slightest.

The Baillieston Dental Care practice is located inside the Baillieston Health Centre, one of the many amenities that the centre offers. They recently took on a new dentist and advertised to register new patients, so my parents and I signed up. Private care is just too expensive without insurance, and here the check-ups are free. After my initial check-up, which didn't take long, they brought me back in for a scale and polish, x-rays, and a small filling. It cost £24 in total, which isn't bad at all. Since it's NHS, you can claim benefits and/or save money if you are under 19 and/or a full time student. Unfortunately I'm not part of that bracket, but I was surprised. Since I've never had an NHS dentist before, I don't really have a point of reference with which to compare. It was quick, the staff are friendly, and overall I have no complaints.

He was told that he might not need another go at it given how light it was, which was nice to hear knowing that the guy who does removal wasn't going to just take his money for nothing. I asked about some small stars on my arms that are quite light due to a previous attempt to have them removed so I asked him about those as well. Apparently, the laser her uses doesn't remove blue at all, which is why he wouldn't take me as a client either. I really appreciated being told that instead of just giving it a go and wasting my money. For anyone who wants some tattoos removed, this is the place to go. Honest answers and honest work.

I was eventually taken back to a room where facials are given. There was a bed made up and all sorts of Dermalogica products set up. The technician sat me down and we discussed what I wanted to accomplish during this session. She went over what a microdermabrasion is and how I would benefit from it. The session all together was about 30 minutes and after it was done my skin was smooth and glowing. I had a few questions afterwards which the technician answered. She was very much more concerned with the health of my skin than 'fixing' things I thought needed to be fixed (which apparently do not need fixing). Since I work about 30 miles from home I need to have late appointments. The receptionist and dentist realise that and always ensure that this is never an issue. ( There is quite a few others in the same situation) At my last visit I turned up early and since the dentist was quiet at the time (not often that happens) I managed to get my checkup done early. The annoying thing about the practice is constantly being asked to clarify your details every visit and the NHS text messages which remind you of the day of the appointment but not the time.

Or just couple counselling sessions? Or do I just have a dirty, dirty mind?? Nonetheless, this is a good sized clinic which offers help with almost anything. I've been in here to have a few massages and have enjoyed them for a decent price. I have a friend who came here for reiki and really enjoyed it until she managed to creep herself out something awful. There's some big story about feeling more than two hands on her and how this was proof of spiritual guardians or something. I've also heard of a few friends coming here to help them stop smoking.
