Overall, this was fresh, light and just what I was in the mood for. They blended the açaí with strawberry and almond milk, but it was bit less creamy than I prefer. If I go back, I'll sub banana for the strawberry to even it out. I'll also avoid ordering ahead some it was a somewhat melted by the time I finally sat down to eat it, but I can't fault them for that. I was passing through the Carlsbad Mall area and realized that there was a new Health Shop that recently opened up named Pure Green. Pure Green is a franchise that is pretty small for California and there's only a handful of locations, with the nearest in Oakland & Thousand Oaks. Although I'm not a big fan of franchises, I can get behind Pure Green because they are health oriented and they are known for their smoothies, juices and acai bowls. They also carry a small selection of delicious toasts and fiber-rich oat bowls. Now that I've been making a more conscious effort to lose fat weight, gain muscle mass, have an active lifestyle and eat better, I might as well consume more vegetables & fruits in liquid form. Pure Green is perfect for this goal because they specialize in smoothies & cold-pressed juices. Pure Green is conveniently located on the west side of Carlsbad Mall, on a building strip that has ample parking and easy access to Marron Rd traffic light and right back on the 78 Hwy or El Camino Real. Interestingly enough, they are also surrounded nearby with a fitness center, a yoga, stretch, Pilates, spa, salon and other health-oriented businesses. Which makes this location perfect for those on a fitness journey and wants everything in one place. The first thing that you'll notice about this place is their super-cute grounded interior design! Although it's not very spacious, it's great to sit down and relax on their "floating seats" or just use a table to do some remote work on your laptop. It gives a sort of peaceful, modern - earthy vibe. They even have Free WiFi & power outlets available! Their bathroom was cozy & super clean too! Service was friendly, fast & attentive. They were patient with me and my inquiries and helped me find the flavors I was looking for. When it comes to smoothies, the flavor variations seem endless! They base flavors such as piña colada, multi-berry, peanut butter & banana, coffee, chocolate cocoa, tropical fruit and all-greens flavors. Then, you can customize to mix & add any boosters to give you additional flavoring, or collagen for joint & skin health or protein for muscle support. So, I was able to drink with purpose! I concocted a flavor blend that was not only healthy, but tasted fantastic! If you're brave enough, try a PURE POWER, add chocolate hazelnut & a shot of cold-brew coffee to it 20 grams of protein never tastes so good and I was ready for the gym! I also like that they have ready-made cold-pressed juices in containers for fasted consumption. There seems to be a flavor for every purpose! Whether it's gym recovery, antioxidants, hangover recovery or anti-inflammatory, there's a juice for it! After I spoke to the owner, Ang, I could better appreciate this woman-owned business and I will definitely be returning for my pre-work smoothie. Went to Pure Green for the first time and had their blue banana smoothie, mocha cold brew smoothie and the pink dragon smoothie. We also had the pitaya açaí bowl. The blue banana smoothie tasted mostly like nut butter but the blue color was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed the mocha cold brew smoothie as well as the pink dragon. (not price, not customer service) it has a very rich and fulfilling flavor. you can taste the quality in the drinks. i said, yep this is definitely what a $15 plus tax smoothie tastes like. the very berry is $11. only draw back is that the cups are regular sized and you kind of wish that it didn't run out too soon. for once i can agree with google reviews. this place is a perfect five. the two girls making the drinks are nice. i will be trying other flavors if i ever come here again. i'm from la area, and i have not seen one near where i live. this is a premium smoothie place. beats jamba juice on taste, but not on quantity served. i recommend this very delicious smoothie vendor. very impressed. good job pure green! read more

First I'll say I love that you use organic ingredients. But... This was our second visit and both times it took a very long time to get our order. Today we ordered 4 açaí bowls a few minutes before we arrived. The estimate for our order was for ten minutes after we ordered. We waited another ten minutes (20 total) before going in to see if they were ready. They were not so we waited longer in the car. 15-20 minutes later we went back inside and they still were not ready. In total it took 51 minutes to get the 4 açaí bowls. We could see the door. It was not very busy. Unfortunately we won't be back because I could literally go to the store for ingredients and go home and make them much faster. read more

So, I am a person who commutes to OC daily and works a stressful desk job at a startup. This does nothing for my health or diet. Pure Greens has been a big help with this. They are open until 9pm which works with my commute. Their emphasis on healthy and organic gradients has been a change for me. Don't expect super sweet or sugar loaded smoothies since they use honey or agave nectar instead, as far as I have tried. It took a while but in sticking to their smoothies I am finding sugary things too sweet. That took a few week but I am moving away from sugar now. The smoothies kill my appetite so I am gorging myself less. Currently I am down 15+ lbs. I have found they are super accommodating with ingredients and customization. I basically have a completely healthy "vanilla shake" and "cacao shake' that I order now that tastes dam close to the real thing but is all good stuff. All you gotta do is ask. I should mention though, that they don't do cash transactions so you'll need a card payment. But I debit card everything so it's whatever. Anyways I am very positive on this place and will continue on improving my diet. read more

My only complaint is that the acai base in the bowls is so soupy, even when you eat right when it's made. Its just not ideal. I saw the suggestion to add banana to the base to make it thicker and I will try that next time. Asked for a cup of tap water and then was told they do not serve water you can only purchase an aluminum can of water for $3. It is illegal to refuse tap water to customers when requested.
