My standard process is to wait on my Explanation of Benefits to ensure my insurance pays first to avoid overpaying. So this week, I receive a 'Final Notice' from Mountain Empire Radiology. I may have received a previous bill, but it was not with my medical paperwork I keep filed. While I appreciate a follow-up notice, this one was different. This notice was particularly demanding and short on details of the procedure or what portion insurance covered, even threatening collection within 10 days IN BOLD AND UNDERLINED and threatening my credit history for a service rendered less than 60 days ago. Amount of bill is only $89.00. I'd recommend S. T. in the collections department review her form and consider a more customer friendly approach. While I may not have much of a choice who to use in the ER, I still think a bit of customer service goes a long way.

They make a LOT of mistakes. In addition, different divisions/floors don't keep in contact with each other, leading to constant confusion. You can be dealing with two doctors, different specialties, who do not talk about the patient's needs. Some of the nurses are excellent, but they disappear for long periods. Sometimes you'll have eight visible nurses, then suddenly NOBODY. They allow alarms to run endlessly - it's excruciating. Why don't they have a central nurses' station on EVERY floor - with somebody always there? The cafeteria is adequate, at best. I stuck to the lobby sandwich shop. The patient food is odd, and most seems very unhealthy, for a hospital. Stop providing difficult-to-eat food for old people, folks.

She was so rude and dismissive, and I left the office in tears. She made me feel crazy for complaining about my pain and told me my symptoms were normal. I found a different doctor who agreed to do a diagnostic surgery where she found stage 3 endometriosis with adhesions gluing my colon to my abdominal wall and fibrosis completely covering and restricting my right ureter. If I had listened to Dr. Crowder and not pushed for a diagnosis with a different doctor, I would still be in debilitating pain. She should not have her license.
