I'd expressed my concern of wanting to proceed until I'd consulted with a neurologist and I only used this office originally for the cheap next day X ray when no real doctors were able to get me in quickly. Turns out that because I did not agree to go forward and continue with my proposed treatment plan that what I was told and under the assumption was part of my "zero cost today consultation" was billed for $125 dollars. I called to pay my balance and express my concern that this felt like I was duped and I had to sign my agreement after the services were already done, though I did not actually want or need chiro work as I'm dealing with an AI issue and now moving out of state for treatment of that. Had I not been spoken to the way that Dr Michael just spoke to me I'd have paid my balance and gone on with my day but I feel that the attitude and blaming me for not understanding their procedure warranted writing this review. If you're not 100% certain you want or need to go forward with chiro work, be wary going forward with Integral wellness or you'll get yelled at for being confused by their procedure and have to pay anyway. Unfortunately, my experience wasn't as positive as I had hoped. During my appointment, I explained my symptoms to Dr. Duncan and he had me do a couple of exercises to assess my strength. However, I struggled with one of the exercises, and instead of offering support or understanding, Dr. Duncan's comment, "come on now, you can do this," felt dismissive. His comment was very unprofessional, and I am thinking "are you kidding me?" Additionally, Dr. Duncan recommended a procedure, but after how he handled my struggle with the exercise, I definitely didn't feel comfortable with him performing any medical procedure on me. I left the appointment feeling uncertain about the next steps. He didn't clearly explain why the procedure needed to be done twice or why it was required by the insurance company, which left me feeling confused and without a full understanding of my options. Even the X-ray he provided had unclear medical notes that I couldn't make sense of, and he didn't offer any explanation to help clarify them. Overall, I felt that Dr. Duncan lacked empathy and a proper bedside manner, which made the experience uncomfortable. I would have appreciated more detailed communication and professionalism. It's important for healthcare providers to listen to patients and clearly explain medical processes. I hope that future visits to Watauga Orthopedics are handled with more transparency and compassion. I had heard about Jones Chiro but didnt think we would qualify based on our insurance, or that it would work. I thought we were too far gone for chiropractic care to do anything. We are early 40's but felt like we were 60. We went, got to get our new patient work up, including an appt with an RN. It was a great start! The nurse practitioner even brought up some medicine interactions that may be causing some issues for myself. 3-4 docs over the years have prescribed these same meds, and no one said a word! The PIP on my insurance wasn't a very large balance and I was concerned about out of pocket costs- they assured me that they would keep track of the benefit balance remaining and would work with me to ensure we didn't exceed that amount without prior discussion. I go in after about 3 weeks of treatment to be informed that they would no longer be treating me, and that I had a past due balance of over $2500! Whoa! What happened to coordinating with me to make sure we stayed within my coverage limits? Also, and I'd mentioned this every single time I went in- the two different doctors they kept scheduling me with both weren't coordinating my care betwixt them, nor had either one of them EVER satisfactorily adjusted my neck or hips. I'm still battling with them over the balance due and living with chronic hip and neck pain. They used me indiscriminately as a cash cow without regard for my health and well being.

I had the great privilege of being a friend of one of the most respected Thoracic Surgeons in the country, dr. Joseph Wilson, in Palm Springs California. And dr. Wilson told me if I truly wanted to know what the best thing to do was, just ask the nurses that took care of the patients after the doctor got done working on them? What an interesting concept coming from a doctor, it may be one of the reasons he is so highly respected! What does this have to do with Johnson City Family Physicians? When I decided to leave California and the comfort of all my knowing doctors in that area I came to Johnson City and found out that sometimes that care is not always the same or the care allowed is not always the same in different states. So after a few failed attempt to find a family physician here in Tennessee, something led me, for those of you that believe in God you'll know what I mean for those of you who don't let's just call it a very interesting set of circumstances. I made an appointment with a nurse practitioner? That is a person who started out in the medical field to provide the care and compassion that a nurse does and then through their own personal desire went back to school and got a master's in order to be able to prescribe and care for patients just like a doctor does. So you get the care and compassion of a nurse send it in with the capabilities of a doctor, and I can assure you did some doctors aren't really that interested in your personal being? I know that sounds funny but if you would like me to share instances out of the hospital with you I will. So went to the office and I should have known right when the nurse came out to get me, her name was Doris Hardin, and my aunt Doris was married to my Uncle Joe and brought me to Great cousins and I used to work with a gentleman named Denning Hardin, who always made me laugh because he said there is no ding in Hardin hahaha and then the nurse practitioner Doctor Pat Gibson came in, and it was my aunt passed who offered to adopt me from my mom because my mom was only 17 years old when I was born set my mom chose to come to California and live with her sister on Gibson Road in Woodland Cprovideralifornia! So the words and the word Gibson were both big parts of my life before I even got here and I mean a lot to me and fortunately they mean far more to me now than they used to because I have found a caring considerate understanding and a dog loving oh, and it was a dog's love and push that actually got me back walking again so, well, I would have given Dr Gibson 20 Stars but that would have been a couple hundred too short? Or maybe thousands?
