They are now open on Saturdays and since my review last year our fur baby Lani has grown up and has a doggie sister Bradi whom was rescued and was being fostered by the CCC team. Bradi was found wandering the streets with a terrible injury to her neck and Dr. Michelle saved her. Sandi one of the vet techs raised the money to cover all costs. The team here doesn't get enough recognition for the work they do to help homeless fur babies get healthy again so they can find forever homes. We just went through the process to get our three fur babies checked up and certified so that they can travel. That involved an hour and a half appointment of tests, shots and examinations. Dr. Palminteri and team we're amazing with all three and their different personalities. We had to get ALOT of things together for our fur babies relocation and the ladies managing the office were amazing in helping us get our documents together and with answering our questions. It's been a struggle for the island to get back up and running again afteand the team here is operating like nothing happened. They are taking credit cards and are fully stocked within the pet store section with anything you could need. Also in stock are airline approved travel crates for check in, I know it's really hard right now to find on island. Two new features added this year were their new dog tag machine and full grooming services. It's around $70 per grooming appointment and they do everything. Bradi our longer haired dog loves her time with the groomer. We're sad to be leaving this awesome vet team but know that you and your fur babies are in very good hands here! #St.Thomas #USVI

VIP pet store is back open again after the hurricane but it looks like they have no power so it's…read morecash only. They are getting shipments in and are re-stocked on doggie food (they have loads of taste of the wild) and pee pads. But it looks like everything else is dwindling down ( toys, treats, grooming supplies et.). I don't think their fish/aquarium section is running anymore (tanks are empty) nor is their grooming department and the two resident cats aren't there (great for my hubby because he's very allergic to them). Despite the challenges of not having any power the cashier is still very helpful, positive and opens up every day. I think this store is the only shop operating right now as the complex it's in was destroyed. Prices are a little steep $60 for a bag of taste of the wild and $25 for 50 a pack of 50 pee pads. Geez I can't wait to shop at a Costco again for our fur babies. But I honestly think this store is the only one on island open right now with this stuff. This was a great store before the hurricane for our pets and we hope they get some power soon to be normal again! #St.Thomas #USVI

Tucked away across of Grande Cru Restaurant this has become my alternative to Kmart. Folks, pet supplies out here are outrageously expensive and this shop isn't cheap, but to spend a few more dollars for quality products here is well worth it here than waste it on sub par things. The employees that work here are always so cheerful and helpful (unlike Kmart). My furniture thanks me for finding this place every day because they have the best deals on antlers and the largest variety of mouth occupying toys to keep my dogs from chewing up our house. I'm a huge fan of their Happy Tails aloe melon kiwi dry shampoo ($15, for those days when I just can't work up the motivation to bathe 3 dogs), and their Isle of Dogs Sugarcane and Grapefruit odor neutralizing spray ($16). You can't find these things anywhere else on the island. My dogs love the 3 foot long Chicken jersey sticks ($5). This shop is also only one of two places that does personalized pet tag engraving (for $15). Style a dog is a little pricey but they have a variety of the higher end dog foods, treats and lifestyle products for you and your fur babies. They had no hurricane damage and their credit card systems seems to be working but the very nice lady that runs the shop told us that sometimes it doesn't work (so have cash as a back up). Style a dog also runs a full grooming service in the back. We brought all three of our fur babies here this week for mani/pedis as walk-ins. I'm not sure of how you would schedule an appointment as the phone systems are down Island wide right now other than walk in but the team here was flexible and took all of our dogs immediately despite having other dogs in the kennels to groom that day. They have a great system of where you can drop your dog off at the beginning of the day and pick up before they close around 5pm. Our Lani girl is terrible with groomers, vets etc. she was so scared that she peed on the groomer but they were so nice about it and great with all of our fur babies. Grooming pricing is on the higher end but they are popular so it looks like they have a dedicated group of regulars. If you're coming into crown bay with your boat and have your fur baby with you this is an awesome place to re-stock on products or get a grooming session in!

When we returned we were told by Progressive that our dog had escaped from their pen. As of today, June 14th they have not found her yet. Our dog is 13 years old, arthritic, black with a greying face and chest, mixed (Doberman and Lab). Progressive was very negligent in not protecting our dog. So, pet owners, BEWARE!

Unfortunately, they have monetized animal care to the detriment of anyone who can't pay the way for their animals.

They weren't very helpful in helping me figure out a problem I was having with my aquarium. My fish kept dying. They just kept selling me more fish. My husband found Coral Bite. They only work with salt water aquariums. We decided to give it a shot. When I explained my problem, they refused to sell me anything until the problem was fixed. They offered a few possible reasons for the problem and offered a couple of solutions. They were very helpful. As soon as the problem appeared to be dealt with, I returned and boufght some fish. So far so good. Some fish died, but that is normal. Salt water fish tend to be more delicate. But at least the whole lot isn't dying. I really appreciate their honesty. They were willing to not make a sale because they felt it was more important fix a problem than tarnish their reputation. They gained a loyal customer.

This was the second time we have brought our dog Buffy (11 y.o. Maltese mix) to Jimmy's Pet Shop…read more We have had our dog groomed in the Clearwater, Fl. area, where we used to live, every month and she always looked great. In April 2014 we took Buffy to Jimmy's and when we came back the cut was very short, we did not like it but we figured it will grow out and since it was the first time, we wanted to give them another opportunity. We had to let her hair grow out for a few months, as it was so short but we did bathe her and brushed her and groomed her ourselves. Her hair was looking nice and full and we wanted a professional to even her out, so my husband took her back on July 9th of this year. My husband told him explicitly not to cut her hair to short, as she looks good with it longish. He was told she would be ready at 11:00, then 1:00 and when my husband went to the shop found a note that he would be back around 2:00. There was no notification to my husband about this. When he finally got the dog, after 3:00 or so, he was shocked. Buffy had been shaved within a 1/4 inch from her skin. Her ears and tails were with hair and she looked like a 10 lb "flying white rat". Her skin was visible and she looked as if she had red marks from the close shave. She was behaving in a strange manner we are not used to, not wanting to be touched of petted and would just lay in her bed rolled in a ball. Her face, neck, legs and underbelly had been shaved down to her skin . My husband and I were so upset, we literally cried. We immediately called Jimmy and said we were very angry as to what he had done to our dog. We demanded, to begin with, our money back, which he said he would, but he said he had to shave her because she was matted. We brush her and we know there was no severe matting that would require to shave the animal. If he was unable to groom her without shaving then he should have let us know and we would have gladly picked up the dog and taken her elsewhere. He had no authority to shave her in that manner. I have read since that the shaving cutters can get very hot and can burn the dog. I believe this is what happened. She can't speak to us but we know even to this day that this was a very painful experience for her and she still not behaving normally, even after 2 weeks. I do not know if she was mishandled but he did not do right for her, based on her behavior. Never, in the 11 years, we have been grooming her, has anyone done this to her and to us. My husband took Buffy to the Vet. and he gave her a cortisone shot for possible pain and skin inflammation and a soothing dog shampoo to help with the red burn marks. He also told us to use antibiotic cream, as needed. I have posted pics before and after he was done with her so that you can judge for yourself. I do not recommend this shop nor the way they handle animals. I wish we could go back in time but we are unable to, now all we have is to warn others about our negative experience at Jimmy's Pet Shop. Thanks, Elaine and Jeff Lininger

Insists on loading the dog food in my car for me every time. Not the largest selection, but they have a good selection of specialty items. Also carry cloud 9 products which are the only products I use for grooming my 2 labradoodles. Can be difficult to find, GPS takes me a different way every time, but close to other errands in the area. I'm able to call ahead to make sure they have the food I need in stock, or they will order it for me. One dog is very sensitive and throws up when eating too much in a sitting. They recommended the Six Fish Orijen food and he hasn't thrown up once in several months. He's putting on weight now too, which he desperately needed. Internal medicine specialists state side found nothing wrong with him, but still threw up and wouldn't put on weight previously. They also have great recommendations for training, boarding, and socialization.
