Hi, I asked for a print preview. The coloured print had…read morelines going through the paper. They use laser, which is known for poor colour print, no ink printers used. I alerted the male staff member about it. Then the older male owner (nearing retirement), yelled at me to "Hurry up" as I was showing him the problem. I took a look at the printing area in the back and it looks like a disaster, not at all organized. They want you to send them a file to look at, so they don't have to deal with their customers. She arrived over 10 minutes late, and while I was waiting, she prioritized other walk-in customers. Despite my appointment, I was left waiting with a baby. Photo process - shockingly unprofessional: She grabbed a white hoodie from the corner of her couch, flipped it inside out, and used it as a background on her coffee table. My baby was placed directly on that. The camera's autofocus was so slow (5-10 seconds per shot) that she missed most good expressions. The first 20+ shots were blurry. She had to ask chatgpt "how to set camera to take photos of a baby" .She later Googled the Canadian passport photo requirements--realizing too late that the baby's ears couldn't be covered, so we had to start over. Editing - extremely poor quality: She used Photoshop to manually erase the wrinkles of the hoodie in the background, but it still looked messy and unfinished. During the editing, my baby started fussing, and my wife kindly took him outside to avoid disturbing the business--in the middle of a hot day at noon. Looking back, it was absolutely not worth it. Undisclosed extra charges: She told me the total was $43.68. The receipt showed $22.99 (Passport photo) + $5 (toddler charge)+ $9.99(China travel document photo)--none of which had been explained beforehand. When I questioned the price difference, she just said, "Yes." I asked for a refund of the extra two dollar, and she replied, "Can't. The system's set that way." No apology, no solution--just dismissal. Things turned ugly - no exaggeration: As I sighed and turned to leave (I didn't want to argue with a baby waiting in the hot car), she suddenly rushed over, grabbed the printed photos and receipt right out of my hands, and told me she was refunding me because she "doesn't like working with petty customers." She said, "You won't get the photos anymore." (As of writing this, I still haven't received that refund.) She then escalated it further: She began lecturing me, claiming she gave me a "discount" (even though she had just charged me more than quoted), saying I was "ungrateful" and "lacking emotional appreciation," and that I didn't tip her.
